Vareniki(pirogie) are definitely authentic and definitely tasty and portions are big! I’m sure other things taste as good, however didn’t get to try much, as owner was barely walking due to the injury. Get well Chris, and keep your food on same quality level!

This is a place for people who want excellent hearty food without frills at a good price… and don’t want to eat dinner too late at night. We ate here while staying at the Hotel Rialto next door. It closes at 7, although the owner who did the cooking, was willing to stay(in October… he might not be as willing in July). Sauerkraut soup, pierogies, and some sort of stew — yummy. Large portions. Then we bought a large sandwich which we shared on the ferry the next day, kept it in our hotel room refrig overnight — half the price of what it would cost us on the ferry and twice as good.

I’ve been looking for place to try red beet borscht and finally stumbled across one! Even had white borscht too. Bought both for wholesome breakfast. Store owner was very friendly and I loved the imported products. Will come back for main entrée when I visit Victoria again :)

Stumbled across this wonderful restaurant and deli and enjoyed every bite of our pierogi and deli meats(ham and kabanos). Reminded me of the food we had last summer in Poland. Highly recommend this place.

Food that has you craving more! My partner and I come here almost once a week. We love this little place! The borscht is unbelievable! The pierogies are so tasty and wholesome. You can tell everything is handmade with care and love. The prices are reasonable and the portions are filling. We recommend this place to all of our friends!

Authentic Polish, Ukranian food. Handmade pierogies like my great aunt from Poland use to make on the kitchen table. Prices are really reasonable. Portions are generous. Wonderful find on Douglas Street in Victoria BC.
