SunShadows Bed and Breakfast

One of the best rentals we’ve ever experienced! The studio itself was just lovely. It was the perfect amount of space for the two of us plus it was nicely decorated and SPOTLESS! It had a very peaceful and zen feel to it. The unit overlooks a gorgeous garden and is surrounded by tall trees. With the front door opened, you really feel like you’re in a tree-​house. Ken and Fern were wonderful hosts — so kind, friendly and informative, and really made you feel at home. They very generously stocked the fridge with a variety of breakfast items, including eggs, yogurt, cheese, cream/​milk and juice, as well as gluten-​free bread items (since we are both gluten intolerant)!! They even set out chocolates here and there ;) This was way more than we had expected, all around. On top of it, we had the best nights sleep we’ve had in ages (we were there 4 nights). The bed and blankets were so comfortable and even the towels were plushy soft!
Although the town itself is small, there is quite a bit to do in the general area. We went to Buchart Gardens (and timed it just right — the symphony was playing — every tuesday eve, the Victoria symphony plays); kayaked in Sidney (about a 10 minutes drive); went to a wonderful street festival (held every Thurs night) in Sidney; walked to the nearby winery for lunch and tastings (1 mile away); took long walks in Deep Cove (pier is a block away); and visited Victoria two times (25 minute drive).
Btw, we were so pleased with our decision to stay in Deep Cove over Victoria. We were visiting from Chicago, so Deep Cove was a perfectly peaceful spot for us. It was such an easy drive to Victoria which is a wonderful city but pretty busy/​congested.
Overall, we definitely would very highly recommend Sunshadows and hope to visit again one day!
