The Cupcake Shoppe is small, cute, and quaint… Located rather close to where I live, so I find it to be a convenient spot to grab those last-minute desserts to bring to a dinner party. I like the variety of cupcakes they offer and the«hip» names that go along with them–«Yonge-and-Eligible», «Opposites attract», «Coco-loco», to name a few. Their cupcakes come decorated very nicely, and are placed in a convenient, decorative box– perfect to take to any party. I found their cupcakes to be rather moist, some drier than others, but nonetheless very appealing to the eye. After reviewing their website, call ahead of time to see if the flavours you want are offered. They don’t always have all flavours pre-made and ready to take away. Often times I’ll drop by a couple hours before closing time, and they’ll be completely sold out of cupcakes or with very limited selection. Cupcakes could be pricey if buying in large quantities– I bought a box of 8, which ran me about $ 20+ dollars with tax. They also offer cake pops and cookie cakes… Never tried them, but would give them a shot.

My best friend used to work here so I ate their cupcakes all the time. I have a huge sweet tooth and found them unbelievable. The actual cake was super moist and always the perfect texture and I was a huge fan of the buttercream icing. So fluffy and not overly sweet. My favourites were definitely the cookie dough or the banana pancake. The only ones I didn’t really like were red velvet and carrot and that’s because I don’t like cream cheese icing. Also wasn’t a fan of the mint. I got custom cupcakes made once for my former bosses and they looked amazing! I’ve also gotten custom ones for my birthday and was very pleased with the way they looked.
