Daniel Farkas has been my massage therapist for approximately 2 years. He is the first RMT to be able to give me long term relief from hip pain. He is extremely polite and helpful and even showed me some stretches I could do at home to keep my hip from tensing back up. I would recommend Daniel to anyone looking for a fantastic RMT.

Today I went to Yaletown Massage Therapy for the first time and booked with Daniel Farkas. As soon as the introduction started he was short with me and cut me off while I tried to explain why I was there. The massage started off very hard, dry and felt like my skin was being pulled at. He was rough and jerky with his movements and made me feel uncomfortable. I was there to work out the tension and knots in my neck and it was painful as I expected, after a while I asked him to move onto a different area as it was becoming too much. He became defensive and stated that’s the way myofascial release is and he can’t help it that’s how my body is reacting. It was fine but that area had enough attention and if he could move to another area. He moved onto the other side and I tried to breathe through the pain, he then told me I could end my massage if I didn’t like it. It was fine but that area needed a break. He then ended my massage early, telling me he was sensitive and he didn’t like my tone. I’m not really sure what happened here, I’ve had multiple massage therapy treatments throughout my life and have been able to communicate with the therapist about pain and pressure without them getting defensive. Nothing about Yaletown Massage therapy was enjoyable. As soon as I left I went over to Spruce Body Lab where I was treated really well, had a great massage and it was a fantastic experience!

I just had a massage today, and LOVED it. It was so good. I have an unlimited massage part of my health benefit but I didn’t use them for the last 2 years, since I couldn’t find a right person. I think I found one finally. Melani is awesome, I have a very sensitive skin, but I didn’t feel any ticklish today at all. I cannot say how much I loved her work and this place.

My first time here so didn’t quite know what to expect. The place is small but clean. Massage was 4 stars. My masseuse was awesome. He had the right pressure and did a good job massaging my shoulders and back. He was a little chatty at first but stopped after realizing I preferred to have a quiet session. Ambience was 3. Walls are thin and I could hear the conversation next door between the other masseuse and her client. In my room, I could hear the clock ticking quite loudly amidst the spa music played on the iPod dock. Took a while for me to tune both out. Perhaps I just went on a noisy night so I would totally give it another try — more so because of the massage and not the space!

I got a massage from Wayne Cork a few months back, and it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. I’ve been to a few RMT’s for my bad back, and they massaged me way too hard. I used to hate going for massages because it was so painful. Wayne put the perfect amount of pressure and my back has never felt better. Plus, he’s a really interesting guy and super friendly. I would highly recommend this clinic if you have back pain.

I was excited to find this place near where I live. I spoke with the receptionist last week and she booked me in for Monday. I showed up for my appointment and she had not put me into the system and the RMT was unable to see me. The woman at the desk apologized and said she would book me in for today. I showed up today for my appointment and the SAMETHING happened again. This time, there wasn’t even an offer to make things right. Ridiculous. AVOID this place. Complete and utter waste of time.

I highly recommend seeing Fibie Nia here!!! She has a physiotherapist background and was able to fix up my stiffness and the stress that I carry in my back. Completely AMAZING! The one time I went to see another massage therapist at this location(I can’t remember his name), the results were really(extremely) disappointing!

Ahhhhhh massage. I’ve been going to YMTA for years and have been through several massage therapists and one acupuncturist(who is now gone, sad). Personally, i prefer male MTs but that is a preference. For the past 4 years or so i’ve been seen Wayne Cork and am definitely a fan. An avid sports enthusiast, Wayne knows how to get the kinks out and is really helpful in suggesting stretches that may help with certain recurring sport injuries(hello plantar fasciatis and tight calves!). Now let me warn you though, he can go pretty hard core deep tissue on your a**(the expression, not actually massaging the buttocks… well i never asked anyway). But i like that(please don’t psycho-analyse me) and i’m sure if you ask, he could ease up and give you a more soothing(wimp) experience. To each their own. Anyway, he’s awesome. So if you are looking for a relaxing or real deep tissue experience, I highly recommend YMTA. Also, you can book online which is super convenient.
