I usually go to Connie’s Cookhouse and it’s pretty good. I thought we would try something else just to see. Super fast delivery, but ordered spring rolls and they never came. I called the restaurant and they just argued with me that they were included and wouldn’t fix the order. I will never go back here again.

You got it all wrong. Arrive late, if you have a large party, and allow a local to order for you. This way, you are assured to get the best in Chinese fare and won’t have to wait nary a minute. Fresh crab arrives when it arrives, so again leave it to a local to ask when this occurs, then make sure you order as many dishes that have crab as possible. Pacific northwest fare is about as fresh as can be, so make sure again to check them season ingredients! Make a friend in BC to dine better.

I ordered through (which is soon merging with ). With a coupon I was quoted $ 34 for 3 dishes, which I paid for online. Delivery guy comes and tries to get me to pay cash but I insist I’ve paid online, so he has a long(and obnoxiously loud) argument on his cell phone about payment with someone at the restaurant. Finally he acknowledges that I have indeed paid, and he leaves so it’s time to eat. Oh man, this is some of the blandest Chinese food I’ve ever tasted. BBQ pork fried rice had no flavor, the buddha’s feast chow mein was really oily and pretty tasteless. The worst however was the scallops with 3 kinds of mushroom. This is because there were approximately 1.5 scallops in the entire container!!! Instead of scallops they filled it with some cheap, chewy, overcooked squid. Gross. NEVERAGAIN! Anyways, after all of that, when I get my credit card statement i see they have overcharged me for my meal — so I am currently dealing with having the charges reversed. So not worth it!

Got their food delivered. It was fantastic. We’ve tried five other Chinese restaurants, and this is by far the best food of all.

Why are you not here with me, enjoying amazing Chinese food? I’ve been coming to Win’s long before it was even called Win’s. Way back in the day, Win’s used to be a little greasyspoon café up on 10th Avenue called ‘The Varsity Grill’. They moved to 4th Avenue as The Varsity for a few years, then I believe new owners came in and renamed it to Win’s, to everyone’s benefit. Their basic Canadianized Chinese food is always hot and fresh, the portions are a good size and always tasty! For more authentic fare, Win’s offers a large selection of more traditional dishes, and they don’t skimp on the ingredients, let me tell you! I had a veggie tofu hotpot that was laden down with a variety of at least 3 different kinds of mushroom, bite-sized chunks of tofu and at least 6 other veggies, in an awesome black bean sauce. Their sweet and sour pork isn’t breaded chunks of miscellaneous lips, assholes and gristle like you find in most Chinese restaurants, but decent pieces of pork in a flavorful sweet and sour sauce. The staff are always friendly and seem happy to see me when I walk in, and the service is always top-notch. They’re also happy to make changes or even offer suggestions if you’re feeling adventurous! Do yourself a flavor and check out Wins.

Im so tired. and when Im tired I’m indecisive. Chinese food, indian, thai, or pizza for delivery for dinner? Chinese won out. I ordered on (which rules by the way). $ 25 bucks for dinner for me and my love. That included a big container of wonton soup(with huge pieces of broccoli, strips of pork, tons of wontons and lots of green onions), sweet and sour pork, PAAACKED into the take out container, beef and broccoli(also packed into the take out container), chicken fried rice and two spring rolls. I’ll say the food was good — not fantastic, but good. We got heaps of food for not very much money. Quantity definitely over quality. But hey. I was all about quantity over quality tonight. and I probably will continue to order from them on Fridays. I say, yes.

«Good, Fast, Cheap», said the man. «you may only pick two.» So if I wanted it «good» and«fast» it wouldn’t be «cheap», or if I wanted it «good» and«cheap» it wouldnt be «fast». Win’s seems to fly in the face of this business idealogy as I discovered on my first visit to the unassuming little eatery located on 4th Ave. below street level just west of Burrard. Not only was the food good and fast, but cheap too! Just to clarify; don’t go here expecting amazing, over the moon food. It isn’t. The food is good, not great, but I’m a fan because I got a great lunch that filled me up for under $ 10 before tip. That is not an easy thing to do anywhere in this beautiful city of ours. It was around 1:30, so the bulk of the lunchtime crowd was gone. A pot of Chinese tea was deposited at my table within seconds of my taking my seat. I was asked if I wanted ice water as well. I scanned the menu and noticed the Mongolian Beef — one of my favorite dishes and I quickly decided on that. When I ordered I was asked if I wanted Hot and Sour or some other soup and it was at that point I was pleased to notice on the menu that my dish included a choice of soup and a bowl of steamed rice. Sweet!!! I ordered the Hot and Sour soup, and almost instantly a small but potent bowl of the thick delicious soup full of tofu, bamboo shoots, fungus and carrot slivers arrived at my table. I was barely finished my soup before the Mongolian Beef and bowl of steamed rice showed up. The portion was just the right size for a lunch-time meal. It had a bit of heat to it, I prefer spicier, but everything was cooked to perfection. The beef was tender and the veggies still crisp. If you are expecting the beef to be coated in a thick spicy sweet sauce, which is how I typically expect Mongolian Beef to be served, you will be dissapointed. But I gave this a fair chance and it didn’t dissapoint. Got a short lunch break but want to break from the usual fast food solutions? If you’re in the area, check out Win’s. At these prices, you can’t lose.

In Vancouver, Win’s was one my two go to restaurants for Chinese food delivery. It is easy to order via . I always ordered the same thing. Mongolian Beef General Tso’s Chicken Hot and Sour Soup Steamed Rice The food was consistently pretty good. It wasn’t great. But the consistency kept making it a good option. The Mongolian Beef had some kick. The vegges were not over cooked and the meat was tender. The General Tso’s Chicken was crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. It was a little bland though. I totally dug their Hot and Sour Soup. Delivery usually took around 45 minutes. Overall, it is a decent option for Chinese delivery.

Can I give this place less than 1 star? Don’t judge me, I’m an optimist and can always find good in something. This time it was good putting the food back in the container and throwing it out. I ordered in the sweet & sour pork, ginger beef, spring rolls and steamed rice. I could have wrung out the grease from the inedible, barely anything inside spring rolls. My entrees were so congealed, laced with sugar and msg I thought my insides were going to turn inside out. This food is well below mall grade Chinese, which at least is still edible. Benefit of the doubt: maybe someone got 100% on their driver’s test in the kitchen and they were celebrating so hard they just messed everything up that night, wait, I doubt it too. Sorry guys, total air ball, avoid at all circumstances.

Went to Win’s last night for an impromptu Chinese New Year celebration… sure enough it was empty, but no problem there. It was only four of us, but we ordered a mountain… started with hot and sour soup, it was quite tasty with a lot of spice, a perfect start on a cold rainy Vancouver evening. We tried the veg spring roll which were nice, we had a tofu and vegetable dish which was really tasty. The mushroom chow mein was a little gloppy and I know of quite a few places that do a much better dish. My fav dish of all time — lemon chicken. So how does Win’s stand up??? Meh… I’ve had worse and have had much better, the lemon sauce is delicious, light and flavorful, but the chicken had a little too much batter on it, so the outside was light and crispy, but there was a layer of raw batter that makes the bite a little mushy… not the best. The spicy squid also had a pretty meager batter to meat ratio, resulting in another mediocre dish. The service was nice and prompt, for 4 people, the bill was beyond reasonable. Almost a 4, but since I know so many other great spots, 3 stars will have to do… but I would go back(if it were Monday night when Toko is closed ;)

We ordered take out n service was good. However, our sweet n sour pork was basically just sauce, batter, and pork fat. There was no meat whatsoever. We was so gross we end up throwing it away. The other dish was ok though. We had fried fish fillet. Inconsistent quality of food unfortunately.

The menu offer authentic Cantonese dishes including rice and noodle dishes. Service is pleasantly attentive. I noticed a waitress checking up on orders for the table next to me because she thought their dishes should have come out — a rather rarity for a budget family Chinese restaurant and I was quite impressed. I was little disappointed with my beef with scrambled egg on fried rice noodle which was a bit bland. The fork and chopsticks in my serving set had sticky points. I could have asked for replacements but ate with the spoon that came with my plate instead. I would likely go back again if I’m in the neighbourhood to try other menu items. They open till 10:00pm.
