Graden is great. I’ve been going to him almost a year and appreciate the time he takes. Consistently a solid haircut. He puts the client first and wants them to be happy, while at the same time expresses his opinion. He wants the haircut to look good and be easily maintained.

I’ve been going to see Graden for about a year now, and haven’t looked back once. Finding someone to cut my hair who doesn’t make me feel self-​concious has always been difficult. I know nothing about hair, so I have a lot of trouble expressing what exactly I want it to look like. Graden helped me figure out something that works really well for me and also showed me how to maintain it all without making me feel silly for having to ask lots of questions.
I had a lot of trouble finding someone to cut my hair that wasn’t too intimidatingly hip or too expensive but also was professional. Graden is exactly what I was looking for!

You know how they say when you’ve met the person you’re meant to be with you just ‘feel’ it? Well, I certainly get that feeling with Graden — except we’re talking hairstylists here ;)
I can wholeheartedly say that I have found my new Stylist!!!
After having countless bad experiences with stylists all around town, I can finally stop searching.
Here’s what I love about Graden and Volt:
1) They REALLY put the client first and want them to be happy.
This is apparent at how friendly both Graden and John were upon my arrival. I was
offered coffee, tea, or water. Graden sat down with me, and actually asked me what
I wanted, and took the time to LISTEN to me. He also helped me create a ‘plan’ for
growing my out to get my dream hair.
2) There website — online booking, ‘meet the stylist’ videos, before and after pics, as
well as hair tutorials. Seriously, it really impressed me, and helped me to make the
decision to come see Graden (but I must admit, after watching the videos I was torn
between who I liked more, John or Graden… they are both so great!)
3) Like to make appointments on the go? There’s an ‘app’ for that!
They also have an app that allows you to make appointments, contact them, and
even a virtual ‘rewards card’ for haircuts with Graden. How cool is that?
4) The products they use (Kevin Murphy) smell a-​mazing! — and we’re talking natural,
essential oils smell, not crappy, synthetic smell. Also, after doing some research I
found that Kevin Murphy products are cruelty-​free, biodegradable, paraben-​free
and sulphate-​free, and packaging for the products are 100% recyclable. Even
better eh?

5) They really go the extra mile! — (I used to work in a hair salon many moons ago as
a receptionist and shampoo girl, so I have some serious street cred when it comes
to this). Graden explained to me that they do a similar régime for your hair, as most
people do with skin care — exfoliate, cleanse, tone, and moisturize. I felt like my hair
was getting a spa treatment. I got a wicked scalp massage that melted my tension
away, and then had a nice warm towel sit on my hair for a couple minutes to help
the deep conditioner soak in — it felt like heaven.
Also, Graden took the time to discuss how to style my hair at home, and he made
this super realistic, and easy to achieve. He made sure to find out the lifestyle I live
and made the hair fit into it — meaning that I can spend minimal time on styling my
hair.
Honestly, I am super impressed. I’m booked for some highlights in another couple weeks, and can’t wait for that appointment.
If you’re weary of trying to find yet again another hairstylist, go visit Graden and end your search. You won’t regret it!

Hands down one of the most down to earth and talented stylists I’ve met.
Start to finish my experience with Graden at Volt was a breath of fresh air. His online booking system was convenient and he even offers complementary 15 minute consultations which allowed me to meet with him and have a no pressure chat about what i was looking for.
Throughout a number of haircuts with other people (some bad, some good) I’ve noticed that a lot of stylists aren’t interested in what the client has to say, that they don’t really listen and tend to impose what they want on your hair. Graden on the other hand listened intently, was refreshingly honest and then we agreed on a plan of action!
I love that the headline to Volt’s site says «It’s about you, not us». Graden genuinely has a passion for what he does and that clearly shines through within a few minutes of chatting to him. I walked away with a much better and healthier looking version of my hair and i’ll be back for more.

I’m torn between wanting to spread the word on this hair maestro and wanting to keep his talents to myself, once hoards of people hear about Volt it’ll make it tougher to get an appointment!

Hair… My greatest enemy. At times wind blown perfection, but mostly a ratty mess. I was at my wits end and driving the man crazy by going back and forth on cutting it all off before finally going in for a consultation. Before walking into this small, but beautifully renovated, bright salon, I had been using the same stylist, getting the same cut (I guess with a few different snips to the bangs here and there) for the last 10 years. Graden was the answer to my hair prayers. My consultation was thorough, warm, thoughtful and expertly delivered. He picked up on my desire to hack it all off, add a bit of sass while keeping me away from a length I may have regretted. His suggestions and recommendations are those of a seasoned professional, always with his client in mind by starting off safe and moving into a more artistic territory depending on your comfort level.
This was no different on the day of the appointment. Before heading into the cut, Graden went over the entire process, altered the desired style based on how both parties felt about the direction and put me at ease. I came out of there after 3 hours and 3 hair washes with a beautifully done cut with hair above my chin and highlights applied with such care that I never felt my scalp burning. Fabulous!
So far, the reviews on my hair have been overwhelmingly positive so much that I feel like a different person. That is all thanks to Graden and his miraculous skills with shears and colours. Don’t walk… run to this place.

Followed Graden from his last two salons. Very laid back and does great haircuts. Would highly recommend.
