I used to hate this place. My first foray was when a friend ordered something at the downtown location with the thin rice noodles, and I got jealous, but apparently I ordered the wrong thing as everything tasted of nothing and was dry. Over the years it’s grown on me and I’ve learnt what to order and how to flavour the noodles with the sauce(apologies for not knowing the names of things — meat rolls?) Recently I’ve been happy to discover they also have Phở, and both chicken and beef are quite yummy. It’s not the best Vietnamese, but it does a tasty enough job(though the banh mi at Metrotown could use some sauce in the airy soft bun… and bbq pork instead of chicken & pâté.)

My default is the small Chicken Phở. Sometimes, Combo 18: small noodle soup and steamed rolls. Now if only they had a noodle soup combo with the deep-fried roll dips! Buying those separtely ends up being not that cheap. The customer service level varies. Sometimes, they give me all my cutlery and everything so that I’m ready to go. Sometimes, they don’t give me the dip, and when I return to ask for it, act like it was stupid of me not to take one that was on top of the counter, and another lady that was wiping that counter hands me one as she sighs at me. What did I do?
