The Trees chain is known for their cheesecakes and tasty pastries, but this location doesn’t seem to be as well kept as others. Most tables were cluttered with dishes, and not cleaned off at all in the time I was there. I also ended up with food poisoning from the breakfast wrap I ate. Not fun times :(

I walked by this place on my way to another café and had to stop in to take a look. Staff friendly and helpful. I ordered a little peanut butter cup. It was perfect blend of a peanut butter cup. A lot better than rocky Mountain chocolate factory. Check this place out if your in the area.

Delicious scones and friendly staff who make an effort to get to know the regulars. And yes, the cheesecake is amazing too — we love the free samples to try out all of the flavours(mango is my fav)!

Named the«best cheesecake in Vancouver», I only experienced dry and dense cheesecake that was not creamy with a crust so crumbly it fell apart at impact. I had both the raspberry white chocolate and chocoholic. Both were not sweet enough and very expensive.

I found out about this place because my friend live in the apartment above it. Its in a good location at the corner. Had the Quiche here and it was good but not like spactacular. They have a pretty high end coffee espresso machine. But because it am not a coffee fan, I went with the Chai latte instead. I didn’t know this place is famous for their Cheesecake so maybe time I go I will try it and write a review the cheesecake. But the place is quite small and parking is not easy to find. Or should I say free parking is not easy to find. I am guessing most of their customers are locals living nearby. This place is small as well. Not a lot of seats

National Cheesecake Day? Is that even a thing? Well, if you insist, my rubber arm can be twisted into making a stop for a slice. I stopped by Trees Organic on Arbutus yesterday in response to their half price cheesecake sign. It was later in the afternoon, so they only had 2 of their 9 flavours left. I tried the raspberry white chocolate cheesecake. Normally the single slice would have cost $ 7 there but this time around it was $ 3.50. When you charge $ 7 for a piece of cake, I think most people will have high expectations. It was good but not the best I’ve ever had, not that I can tell you off the top of my head where I’ve experienced the best cheesecake ever. I think what you’re really paying for here is the size, the one piece is ideal for 2 people to share. I got about 2⁄3 of the way through it before I realized I had bitten off more than I could chew. If you want to share a slice with a friend over some coffee, then it’s worth the stop. As for buying a whole cake here, I suspect you could make your own for less.

We eat here a lot. The cheesecake is great. The sandwiches are delicious! The samosas come with an amazing salad. The coffee is fresh and good. Staff are very friendly. I like this place a lot.

Something holds me back from loving Trees but I’m unsure exactly what it is. Maybe its staff, maybe it’s their coffee but I choose just about anywhere else for my lunch breaks at work. When it’s good, it is SO good. Two staff members stand out — a … Hispanic(?) man and a bubbly Asian woman have me popping in if I spot them through the window on my commute. I actually think they may be the owner and manager, but those two are so great. Customer service, recommendations, speed, quality and atmosphere is all perfect. But the rest of them… I’ll come in to teens just absentmindedly wiping tables and ignoring two people in line. I’ll see staff not smiling at anyone, I’ll receive burnt coffee. One guy huffs if you ask him what the soup is and will point to the soup board. Which is empty and why I asked him in the first place. To get a wrap, that I’ll take to-go cold to speed things up, I once waited 10 minutes for the girl to ask someone else how to. Pass me the wrap? It’s just boggling in contrast. There are a few nice kids that fumble a little with smiles, but I rarely get them. I generally get these two stone faced people who will be checking their phones or standing with their back to the door. It’s really not TERRIBLE service at all, it’s just frequently a little grating to the point I only stop in if I see those awesome two or have a craving for something delicious on their menu and have time in case it’s an off day. But that sidestep is enough for me to take off a star. Food? Yes. All the yes. Their soup is delicious, I adore their breakfast burritos(with the spicy sauce) and my mouth just filled with drool thinking about their spinach and feta scone. Scones are something I would rarely buy because I find them too bland but this is cheesy savoury heaven. Cheesecake you already know about and yes, it IS that good. Try the samples — I never would have chosen the Maple Walnut and that was one of the best I’ve ever tried. Coffee I’m not the hugest fan of. Their menu flavoured options are way too sweet and their coffee tends to run more acidic than I’d prefer so I rarely get it. I’ve given up on their cappuccinos(my snobbery of choice) but I can make their lattes work. I have to be in a very specific mood to get their coffee, though I buy their beans frequently and am pretty happy with them. Not the best again because of that sharper taste but I still really enjoy it some mornings and wish to support the place. Prices aren’t great. Not much to say there but, hell, the cheesecake slices alone are so huge I’d order them more frequently if they were half the size and half the price. All this said, I’m probably in three or more times a week so take that with a grain of salt aha.

The cheesecake did look fabulous, however I was in the mood for something savory. Quite possibly the best scone I have ever had! The feta and spinach scone was the perfect treat to satisfy my salty craving! And not to mention huge ! Well done!

This is not the best cheesecake in Vancouver.

A colleague took me here for dessert after lunch. I just thought this was a typical coffee place but surprisingly, the dessert was good. I tried the Mango Cheesecake with real mango chunks. Very light and delicious and not heavy at all. My friend tried the daily special which is a sour cherry and berry cheesecake with chocolate marble on top. Price is not cheap, at $ 7.50 a slice. I don’t mind cheesecake once in a while but for the price, I would prefer to pay for a soufflé.

Best cheesecake in Vancouver? I wouldn’t say that this is the best cheesecake. This is coming from someone whom knows her cheesecake as much as Dorthy, Rose, Blanche& Sophia. Cheesecake is my favorite dessert and believe me, I have had a lot of different cheesecakes in the city. I am not saying that Trees Organic has bad cheesecake, it is decent, however, a little over rated when the Georgia Straight says it’s the best in the City. I had the Key Lime cheesecake and was a little disappointed. There was no real Key Lime, it tasted like a standard citrus cheesecake to me. The one thing that it has going for them is that they seem to make most cheesecakes in house which is a huge plus. The staff were decent, however, they seem to be going through the motions and not the emotions which is sad. As for the price, a 1⁄6 of a standard cheesecake of 10″ was $ 7!!! It didn’t taste like a $ 7 cheesecake. Perhaps this is why my expectations were so high for this place given the price. When I walked into the store, something smelt as though it was burning which didn’t set a good tone for me from the first moment. P. S. Don’t be fooled by the N.Y. cheesecake. I have had N. Y cheesecake in N.Y. when I went to see David Bowie. This establishment should be arrested for claiming to have N. Y cheesecake by the culinary police.

I have been other locations of Tree Organic(Richmond, Gastown, Richard St), I love their cheesecakes especially downtown location. However, I got a bit disappointed of this one(Kitsilano). When we got in around 8ish, there was no customer. Most of tables were not clean and we tried to clean up ourselves. The staff realized we’re cleaning the mess and came out from the counter to clean up our table. I’m not sure why the cheesecake didn’t taste like the same as other shops. Blue berry cheesecake so rich and smooth but too soft, NY cheesecake was good and creamy and chocolate cheesecake taste light.

Am I missing something here? Trees Organic Coffee was beyond disappointment for a place that claims they make the best cheesecakes in Vancouver. On my visit, I tried the Key Lime cheesecake & Mocha cheesecake. The texture of the cheesecake itself was dense and unappetizingly waxy especially near the top and side edges of the cake. The key lime flavor was prominent while the mocha cheesecake had no signs of mocha flavor. The crust is supposed to be the best part of the cake but in this case, it lacked flavor and texture. There are definitely better places in Vancouver for cheesecake.

Love their New York Cheese Cakes and sandwiches! Not so much for their coffees. Recommend Apple Cider instead.

Apparently the best cheesecakes in Vancouver? Hmmmm… not a fan. I chose the Raspbery White Chocolate. Very overwhelmed with the heavy waxy cream cheese. Not too sweet though. $ 6.99 a slice. I realize now that I would prefer a lighter fluffier texture in my cheesecake.

They boast Vancouver’s best cheesecake — and the cases are full of them. So many to choose from and I think they even do a seasonal one? As I was perusing, hoping for some vegan choices I was offered a sample. That’s pretty cute if you ask me. Coffee was tasty enough. They have soy AND almond milk which I always appreciate. The server was friendly and patient. My pals ordered the ham breakfast wrap and meh was the review. It actually looked pretty meh as well. They do have a vegan power bar and a vegan power cookie which look exactly the same just in a different shape. I didn’t try them purely on a judging a book by its cover mentality. Synopsis: there are other cafes in the neighbourhood that make me happier.

Is my review slightly skewed by a free slice of cheesecake, perhaps, but I never claimed to be as objective as a supreme court justice so I can be mildly influenced by a sweet bribe… I received a coupon in my mailbox for a free slice of cheesecake — no strings attached — so we sauntered over to check out the new Tree Organics Coffee in my neighborhood. Trees Organic took over the spot vacated by La Petite France. We were greeted warmly upon entering, mind you we were their only customers. At first glance the seating/dining area is somewhat unremarkable looking and after sitting there for a few minutes we concluded it isn’t really conducive to long stays. Apparently all of Tree’s cheesecakes are baked at this location now and delivered to their other locations. They offered up 8 varieties, some of which are considered«premium» which is only important if you purchase a whole cheesecake to-go, as they carry a $ 5 surcharge over the regular cheesecake. A slice is $ 6.99, which is comparable to the Sweet Obsessions located several blocks away. They provided us samples for 2 varieties: a sour cherry chocolate and a maple walnut. I ended up selecting the maple walnut and my husband selected a mocha chocolate. The cheesecake texture was not as dense as some that I have had but was also not too airy. The maple walnut flavour was just right and the walnuts provided a lovely crunch. It definitely needed the texture contrast because the crust was a little on the mushy side. My husband enjoyed his slice but I personally don’t care for mocha or chocolate cheesecake flavours so it was obviously a ploy for my husband to keep it all for himself. If it wasn’t free it would probably be 3 stars. Now if you want a really good cheesecake you need to invite me to a potluck. I make a really dense authentic NY cheesecake that is pretty terrific if I do say so myself!
