It is a pity this restaurant is out of the main street, and located in a not very nice part of the town. Their food is fantastic, the service fabulous. It was packed when I went there today and still I was served in less than 10 min Their guacamole is one of the best I have ever tried. I will go there again, definitely

My husband and I had dinner here last night and found it satisfactory, though nothing really special. The prices are a little too high for the portions that you get and there are no complementary chips and salsa(found this to be a real bummer). We did go ahead and ordered the chips and salsa and then wished we hadn’t. Small quantity of chips, with one of the salsas being too bland and another too dark. Our main plates: enfrijoladas for the hubby and huarache de carne asada for myself. Both were decent, though small in quantity. I enjoyed mine. The meat was good, beans were smooth and had flavor, the tortilla was fine, the cactus just okay(not very fresh and overcooked). The enfrijoladas my husband found to be too salty, other than that, the dish was fine. I actually left still hungry, which has never happened before in a Mexican restaurant. We probably will not come here again due to the quantity and the prices.

Authentic and delicious!!! Went for brunch, no line up and our food didn’t take long at all. Our waitress was very friendly. Upbeat Mexican music, simple décor. I wish I took a picture of the name of our dishes. I don’t know what they’re called but they were amazing! My boyfriend had a breakfast egg and ham burrito with sour cream, salsa and cheese. I had a dish with soft nacho chips, green salsa, cheese, sour cream and pulled chilled. Both had a little spicy kick. We switched our plates half way through. I couldn’t decide which was better! A must if you’re in the mood for Mexican!

My girlfriend came to visit me from NYC and while walking downtown she craved Mexican food(yeah that happens to her A LOT!). We searched for one and decided without a lot of research to go to nearest place which was«The Mexican Antojutos Y Cantina». Ever since we ate there my GirlFriend keeps on saying«when i come back to visit again. thats the first place I am going to eat at and straight from the airport !!». The food was incredible! the service was amazing ! and the proof of that is that even went you’re on the east coast you can’t forget this place! We will be BACK and if its up to her we will never leave! :)

Bought an entertainment book this year and saw a coupon for this place in it so thought I would give it a try. Food was ok but there are better Mexican places in vancouver. Main issue I have is when we went to pay they refused to honour the coupon. They said it was for last year even though I had the new book and the dates had only just become valid. I contacted entertainment and they confirmed that it is valid and they should have honoured it. I feel scammed.

Small and authentic atmosphere with great food! From the sopas, tacos and house specialties you can’t go wrong.

Excellent authentic Mexican place. So good and best micheladas, my friend and I had like four each!

Authentic Mexican décor and feel. Always packed, but with tourists… locals don’t seem to go here; typically a reason for concern. Not a spot to experience the local vibe and culture. We enjoyed our visit, and left full and satisfied. I will come again.

This place is a little hole in the wall on the west side of Granville. Went on a Friday night around 830. It was almost packed. Also visited on a Monday night around 930 — it was also very busy. We assumed it was seat yourself, and did so. The tables are fairly close together, with plastic coated menus doubling as placemats. The décor is minimal, and it looks like they were on a very tight budget. Nothing fancy about this place. But what they lack in atmosphere, is not lacking in the food. The cocktail menu mostly consists of various margaritas, sangria, Piña colada, and beer. I had the Piña colada first time I was there– not great. However the strawberry margarita was much better. The guacamole is amazing ! The feta on top was a cool twist. It comes with a decent amount of chips, but we ordered extra($ 1) as there was still lots of guacamole left. We also had a side of pico de gallo($ 1) I also like to add fresh lime which was not complimentary($ 1) We also had tacos which I loved! I had carnitas, milaniesa, & suadero,($ 3/each or $ 4/$ 11) My friend also had a Torta which was yummy. If your looking for fancy dining, this place won’t be it. However for great food at decent prices it’s highly recommended !

1 star for the tortilla soup I ordered which was loaded to the max with salt… OMG. I couldn’t even stomach half the bowl. It was literally salty tortilla soup broth with a ton of deep fried crispy tortilla strips, a small handful of cubed avocado pieces and some cheese. Better were the tacos al pastor which my boyfriend enjoyed. But I did not try. Service was decent. Ladies washroom was cluttered with stuff that should really be put into proper storage. It makes the washroom feel cluttered and awkward.

My first mistake was coming to Canada and thinking Mexican was a good way to embrace the culture(kidding). I had the chimichanga, which I got because of what I saw in the picture(breaking the rule of falling in love with a photogenic subject). It was tasty, but was a little to generous with the tortilla and stingy with the carne asada. The wifey got chicken nachos but the chef and the chicken must have gotten into a fight that only the chicken was able to walk away from… so the wifey got cheese nachos with a side of refried beans and guacamole. It was just ok, but only because we hadn’t eaten since 8⁄9 in the morning and we were hungry. Not a knock to Vancouver or Canada, but… if you come up here, eat Canadian food(whatever that is).

This little Mexican restaurant was just a few metres away from where we we’re staying in Vancouver. We arrived just before 9pm, so rather late for dinner, and thus had no problem getting a table straight away. I really enjoyed the nachos we ordered as a starter. They were like I would make them at home. Cheese and salsa in-between every layer of nachos, not just on top. The guacamole was very nice too. I had the chicken tostada, which was just the right portion after that huge starter of nachos. My boyfriend had the chimichanga con pollo and took half of it home as it was so much. Both dishes tasted great, and we were really happy to have tasty, authentic Mexican food, especially compared to what you find in Vienna. I also enjoyed the margarita. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive.

I have been to many Mexican Restaurants in Vancouver and I had yet to find an authentic one, until I came here. The nachos were amazing, had some micheladas, chamoyadas and even a pitcher of Margarita. They were all delicious, I’ve never found anyone who can make a good michelada. The only thing I didn’t like is they don’t put ice but that’s my personal preference, I like ice in my drinks. Tacos were great but tortillas were too small. Will definitely go back again!

Great service, good food, little atmosphere. Me and two friends stopped by last night around 6.30 and although it was full there was one table left that fit our party of 3. Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive throughout quick meal, which always makes a difference! The alcohol selection was a bit sad with«red or white wine» and a few mediocre beers being offered. The lighting is a bit cold, giving the room a cafeteria style feel — that said, I imagine it encourages people to get in and out quicker which, considering their line up, isn’t a bad thing! After hearing that this was very authentic Mexican food(and taking my first trip to Mexico tomorrow) I thought I’d try something a little different from a regular taco. I ordered three sopes — the chicken, the mushroom, and the potato chorizo. I’d never had sopes before and was intrigued to see that they were slightly fluffier tortillas with a nice amount of filling, and sour cream drizzled on the plate. The chicken was hands down my favourite, having a lot of rich, complex flavour to it; the chorizo was ok, with a few small pieces of potato, but I found it underseasoned. The mushroom was unfortunately my least favourite as I found the flavour did not mesh well with the refried beans. The sauce that came with the sopes was spicy and creamy and delicious! I’m not sure what it was but it looked like it may have had avocado in it. I wasn’t stuffed full after my food, but it was a good quantity to satisfy. The pricing was reasonable for the quantity of food you got. Definitely somewhere I’d come again — after I’ve been to Mexico and can appreciate the authenticity!

Quaint restaurant on Granville. Got there at 5pm just when they opened and got ourselves a table. They don’t take reservations so get there early because 20 minutes later, the place was packed. Awesome margaritas. Great flavour. Big kick. Came in salt lined glasses. I had the Barrigon and it was a lot of meat for even a carnivore like myself. A fried mix of chorizo, pork, and beef with cheese and spicy salsa. I could barely finish it. If course, we also had the nachos prior. And a margarita each. Nachos was super tasty. Lots of salsa and a small bowl of guacamole and refried beans each on the side. Topped with a role of fried cheese at the top. Could use with a more cheese on the nachos though Feels like authentic Mexican food and would definitely be back to try more dishes.

My best friend and I walked by this place on the way to a club show one night and have book marked it in for future reference. While the rest of Granville was partying and waiting in long line ups for hours to get into a club I partied by coming to this very small but well run Mexican tapas place. This is now my new favorite Mexican place. The feel and the people bring me back to some of the indie joints from when I was in Spain. They speak mostly Spanish, therefore, it was a good way to practice some of my Spanish post trip. The place was busy, however, it was a well run and speedy efficient machine. They demonstrated some effective team work with each other. It took 25 minutes for my meal to come out, however, as mentioned, they were very busy on a Saturday night. The portions were a decent size for $ 5 each. Cheap eat in Vancouver. The customer service was friendly. There was two Birthdays that evening so they dimmed the lights, came out in glowing hats, blared a B-day song and danced = very awesome. Seriously these are the sweetest people running the place.

Excellent tacos, about as close to Mexican authentic as you’ll find in Vancouver. What they nail with the tacos(as well as the filling choices) is the chargrilled method, and therein, taste. When I say chargrilled I’m not talking those black lines that get stamped on burgers in advance of cooking, I’m mean actually cooked over a flame to give the meat that Mexican street food flavour. I had my food to go, but be warned, this isn’t Mexican fast food in the mold of Mucho Burrito or Steamroller. If you’re looking for burrito bowls you’ve come to the wrong place. So I’d advise eating in if you can — although the whole menu is available to go. The restaurant itself is pretty small and simple, but you’re there for the eating!

First time trying their brunch menu and it was mighty tasty. I tried the Torta Ahogada(braised pork sub drowned in red sauce with pickled onions)… I’m a saucy gal so this was right up my alley. And the milk cake… sooo decadent and moist. I’ve been here for dinner before as well and they never disappoint.

I lived in Los Angeles for over 30 years, so I know what great hole-in-the-wall Mexican food tastes like. This place is NOT quite the hole-in-the-wall restaurant flavor that LA brings, but it is definitely delicious in its own way! I’d give em a solid«B»! We ordered: — the Barrignon(7⁄10) — this tasted very good, but it was SUPER oily. I probably would not order it again unless I had some rice on the side. I’d still recommend people to try it though. I’m a fat kid, and I only managed to eat about half of it before feeling obese. — Chicken Taco(8⁄10) — very tasty and not overcooked. good stuff! — Chorizo and Potatoes Taco(6⁄10) — way too many potatoes. — The Orange Hot Sauce was great! Über spicy doe! I poured that all over my Barrignon and went to town!!! A++ — There’s very little on-street parking since it’s on Granville. — Also there’s a buncha crazies walking around here at night so be aware of your surroundings. Enjoy!

I have been looking for a good Mexican restaurant in Vancouver, and I think I just found one of the best. Sat down and we ordered the Nachos to share. Everyone at the table ended up fighting for all the pieces with the cheese on it. The portion was big and it was delicious. We all dove in to the guacamole and the Nachos were gone by the time our main dishes had come. For the main I had the tacos. Ordered the 4 for $ 11 deal. I expected the tacos to be larger than what actually came, but glad that they were the size they were because I was stuffed in the end. Everyone enjoyed the meal and I would come back when I need my Mexican food fix. Oh, and because we came on a Sunday, right after the Salsa at Robson Square, we kept talking about how the center of the restaurant could turn nicely in to a small salsa dance floor!!!
