Ordered via Lazymeal @ 20:04. Estimated delivery of 20:36. Still no food at 21:05. Called them, they laughed at me when I quoted the estimated delivery and told me «We’re busy tonight». The delivery guy finally arrived at 21:10, food no longer hot. Missing a portion of rice. Called back, again she laughed and told me «Oh I’ll give you more next time.» As if there’ll be a next time! Food was pretty mediocre anyway, not helped by the fact that it wasn’t hot. Stay away!

Excellent. Service outstanding. Attentive and friendly staff meet you and settle you in quickly. They balance the influx of take out orders, walk ins and delivery well. Food was delicious. We had chicken sweet corn soup; BBQ pork and wonton soup; prawn toast, steamed pork wontons; and house special chow mein. All were five stars. Highly recommend.

Finally! A good Chinese restaurant on this side of downtown Vancouver. Excellent food, price and service. This place is now my #1 Chinese in downtown. In the past 15 years, I have been to every Chinese restaurant, and it’s been too expensive, too much MSG, too greasy, portions too small, and well below Richmond standards. I no longer need to go to Richmond. This is not the place for high-​priced «show-​off» dishes. Here, they serve down-​to-​earth comfort Chinese food at prices I can eat everyday. Their lunch specials with soup and entrée are priced lower than an A&W burger combo, but you get real food with good service. You can also ask for food cooked exactly the way you like it. I’m a big eater, and I don’t leave feeling hungry.

Such an improvement from New Peace that was going downhill month by month. The food at Sweet Mandarin is fantastic. Clean flavours — thoughtfully prepared — all of their sauces are homemade. The pepper squid is not the frozen product that most Chinese restaurants use. Sweet Mandarin buys their squid off of the fish docks in Steveston. The House Chowmein is chock a block full of veg and seafood with just a hint of Chinese Five Spice — it’s tasty. My favourite so far though is the Orange Chicken with it’s homemade orange sauce — subtle and velvety … yum. The owner Wendy recommended that I try the Chili Chicken next time and I will. The staff is really lovely and helpful — makes everyone feel welcome and part of the family.

I decided to try this place as I saw they had a huge selection of vegetarian/​vegan food. I ordered the malacca chilli vegetables with rice and I haven’t looked back! Talk about delicious! The portions were huge and the staff was amazing. Since then I haven been back multiple times and will continue to do so. I’m really glad I found this place :)

Good rendition of the Chinese classics, definitely happy with what we ordered. Staff was very friendly as well, and the chef was willing to make some custom dishes for us. The price was also reasonable, we will definitely be back.
