Got a Special Combo C(Rocky Mountain Roll, 1 pc Salmon, Tuna, Ebi Nigiri sushi, 2 pcs Salmon Sashimi) and Alaska Roll. I liked their salmon sashimi but the rice was pretty bad. It was very dry, hard and wasn’t seasoned enough. It tasted like the left over rice sitting in the kitchen for hours without the cover on. I had the bad sushi rice from here last time as well so I guess they don’t make good sushi rice most of the time… Rocky Mountain Roll had too much sauces on top that I wished they used only a half of the sauces. I think it would make more sense to put less sauce for take-out rolls. I still like how they offer a variety of special combos and special rolls at affordable prices. Will come back to get salmon sashimi, but maybe not the sushi.

This place is only good for stuffing your face with pseudo sushi, if you’re into that. The mega sized rolls are mostly with fillers, i.e. tempura, yam, lots of mayo, imitation crab, etc… topped with a truckload of overwhelmingly sweet sauces. When I went to the washroom, I saw their back kitchen and it was pretty filthy, more so than the front kitchen where they make the rolls. The octopus wasn’t fresh at all…

Usually love it here, the sushi tastes great and it’s a really good value. I used to get it all the time, but as time went on they started getting my order wrong frequently. I get the exact same thing every time and while most of the employees are great, there seems to be a bit of a barrier with some. I find that when my order is wrong it is usually when I’ve ordered over the phone and the music always seems to be blasting so loud that they can barely hear what I’m saying and vice-versa. Really used to love it here and hopefully they’ll be a bit more attentive and turn the music down when taking orders over the phone in the future… Love the sushi, but I want pay for and get exactly what I ordered!

My go-to cheap, take-out sushi rolls. It’s not the best but it’s decent enough if I have a random roll craving. The roll size is a little bit ridiculous but for the price, I’m not complaining. My suggestion is to stick with their rolls, which they have plenty of options to choose from. Their nigiri and sashimi are nothing to speak of, I got served a slightly frozen tuna sashimi before. The place is small and can be quite busy so I usually call 20 – 30 minutes ahead to order my take-out. The good thing is my order is usually ready within the time frame they stated.

The food is good and it’s super cheap that’s the only reason why I keep coming back here… The service is AWFUL!!! I mean so so bad, probably the worst service I have ever got in any place in Vancouver… And they make it worse every time I comeback. Its so bad, by the end of my meal I usually contemplate if the price actually make over for the, Jesus Christ is bad, service… I’m not coming back anymore… I’ll probably take out though the food is good.

Very good at socializing! … but not with the customers. The waitresses seem to prioritize their Korean conversations over taking orders, despite acknowledging the customer’s request to take their orders. The waitress took the soy sauce off of the used table once the previous customers left and then placed it on to my table. Now, there is no illusion that they aren’t used by other people, but really? Large rolls, very filling, really lives up to the high standards of Korean sushi, not necessarily Japanese/traditional style, but still very good, especially with the $ 2 increase for double the pieces. The salmon/cream cheese roll looked like it was large with generous amounts of salmon and cream cheese, but in real life, it is 75% avocado and relatively small. The prawn shell was still on in the tempura, in the sushi(not the tail). Not what I was expecting, being the only customers in store. Too bad these servers don’t live up to the Korean server standard. They prefer to turn up the volume on the Korean pop when the customers are directly in front of the speakers and dance to it, flirting or conversing with the chefs. Tea and water go unfilled. Very difficult to get their attention. I wonder if the owners know that their workers eat on the job, particularly the short haired girl with black and pink shoes and the underarmor shirt.

Sushi Ville has two locations? Wow, I can’t believe that this place does well enough to even support the single location. Nothing about the restaurant was positive. I had the dynamite bento box. They had put a disgusting white sauce on the salad that came with it — inedible. The teriyaki chicken was covered in small bits of tempura — basically the texture of sand. They had put fake crab in the dynamite roll and rolled it in the same tempura sand. Seriously the worst«sushi» experience I have ever had.

Dirty Place. The counters(both service and kitchen area) sat with food scraps /particles for a long time, floors are dirty, slippery from grease. The brown curtain hanging between the front and rear area is filthy, looks like they wipe their dirty hands on it. health inspectors should check this place out. Servers are really nice, back staff are rough, food was ok, have had much better. Tables are tipsy, not stable, music is super loud, After two trips to this place, I really don’t recommend it and will never return there again.

Sashimi is fresh. But rice is not real japanese style. They are nigiri put normal rice with fish. They are serving was good. Just one thing they are music is so loud. And they are smusic is korean song’s. They are worker’s all korean. So they say hello and goodbye they are languages. So if you like korean loud music and fresh fish just normal rice and good service. I recommend this place. Just loud and rice give them 2 star others 5star for me so i give them 4 star. Thanks guys. If i have so much stress ill be there.

My favourite sushi place in Vancouver by far. You can get the jumbo rolls of your choices and it is sooooo good and so cheap!

Okay rolls if you want it drenched in mayo and deep fried — are you even tasting the food? AWFUL, HORRENDOUS service. They try really hard to piss you off and not get a tip. They were rude, inattentive, and definitely did not deserve a tip. If you want to leave pissed off, come here.

This place is great. It’s usually pretty packed though. Wait times on a weekday evening are about 15 – 20 mins. — Service is pretty good. — They do not have Low Sodium Soy. — Outdoor dining area is right next to a Bus Stop. Lotsa of people and car exhaust. Food recs: — Salmon and Tuna Bellay nigiri! YUM! — Chicken Terriyaki Rolls(10⁄10) — love these things. make it a GIANT roll for $ 2 more! — Beef Terriyaki Rolls(8⁄10) — these are great too!

This isn’t your mama’s traditional sushi place. They’ve got some interesting and inspired rolls guaranteed to fill your gullet with taste bombs. We had the sweet potato rolls, which is basically California rolls topped with a gratuitous amount of shredded and deep fried sweet potatoes, and also a spicy roll of some kind, can’t remember exactly what it was but it was hot and topped with fried tempura crisps and gochujang sauce. The ambience wasn’t exactly comfortable because it’s quite a small place and was jammed with customers dining in and taking out. That said, the service was friendly enough and quite speedy. Definitely going back to try some of their other speciality rolls!

I don’t usually like Japanese food so take this with a grain of salt I guess. I had the California Roll bento box with beef teriyaki. The photo in the menu clearly displays in the picture and description that you receive a separate bowl of rice with the bentobox but I had to ask for one, and got a look from the waitress, strangely. The food was nothing extraordinary and the ambiance was noisey. Don’t know why people dig this place so much.

Cheap prices But food is crap, just a bunch of mayo sprayed on bad fish sushi rolls with 95% rice Service is terrible too. Waitresses rather talk to each other than help customers Never again!!!

I tried this place based on reviews and just ordered simple rolls — a spicy salmon & gomae(spinach). I think one can judge the quality of sushi if simple rolls are made well. Firstly, the regular rolls are not big and prices are not cheaper than any of the other sushi places along Davie St. $ 4 for an ordinary sized spicy salmon roll, however you do get 8 pieces. Some of the rolls have an option to make them«giant» for an additional $ 2. I think the salmon and avocado rolls at Samurai are better, $ 4.50 and one roll is enough for a meal for me. This salmon roll would not have been enough on it’s own. Secondly, the rice was undercooked. There was still an opaque white core to the rice(meaning the grain hasn’t cooked through to the centre) and as a result the rice was dry and tough/chewy. Thirdly — the sauce poured all over top of the spicy salmon roll was overbearingly sweet, it looked like sweet chili sauce and another mayo based sauce. The roll itself would have been fine without it! Gomae was fine however, the spinach itself was good. Just the tough chewy rice around it wasn’t…

Oh my goodness. Best Sushi in Vancouver. BC. Canada! Restaurant is small but cute, so I got takeout. No denying, wait was a little on the long side but I did go at peak time. Cheap. SO Tasty. Would eat it everyday!

I was just walking by and thought I would order take out. There was no one in the restaurant and they had 15% coupon attached to their menu. So I went in and ordered salmon sashimi and a green garden salad. I got home and open my salad and it wasn’t a green salad. I paid $ 4.00. It looked like it was left over from garnishing their plates. I checked the receipt and they didn’t take off the 15%. I’m very disappointed cause I thought I found a good Sushi place. Oh well not going back there. And this was Sunday afternoon. No wonder there was no one in the restaurant. Bad service.

(+) I loved the sashimi;s there. Excellent preparation for a very reasonable price. (-) I wish the service were little better. I had to ask for water for 3 – 4 times. I ordered a soup that never arrived, but it was listed in my check that I had to get removed. Out first dish was served to someone else and later they had to bring it back. (+) Nevertheless, I believe if they improve the quality of their service its going to be one of the best places for sushi and sashimi. A brown rice option would a great plus.

The first rule of food-physics states that: «food portion is negatively correlated with taste.» In other words, the bigger the dish, the worse it tastes. I wholeheartedly wished that Sushi Ville would break the barrier of this rule and on some level, it sorta did… The highlight of Sushi Ville’s menu has to be their outrageously gauche-looking sushi rolls. Trust me, they’re not your typical run-of-the-mill-California-roll-topped-with-random-crap. They go balls-to-the-walls crazy covering the template California roll with the most unthinkable ingredients(picture a sundae bar). When we got our order, we were faced with this gigantic dish of California roll that had deep fried noodle strands, almond flakes, and syrup-sweetness-sauce generously sprinkled atop. As I tried to conquer this monster, my mind could no longer associate my first bite of this delicacy as «sushi». It tasted so unreasonably sweet and crunchy, I honestly thought I was eating a pastry. Moreover, the egg in the tamago roll we ordered was steamed instead of fried and how interesting that also was to eat. As I walked out the restaurant, I was in a dissociative state arising from the sheer weirdness of the food. If you’re looking for a regular sushi restaurant, I wouldn’t recommend this place because it’s not really«sushi» per se. If you’re looking for weirdness, give this place a try because it’s the not-so-bad-weirdness. 3 Stars ***
