Great tasting food, big portions, reasonable prices, very speedy delivery. Not much more you could ask for.

Moved into a new area and was hoping to find some good Chinese delivery. Not here! Veggies were soggy and greasy, ordered General Tso chicken which tasted like bad sweet and sour and the fried rice was so over soyed it was dark brown. To sum it up with one word, «Yuck».

The lemon chicken. It was just bad and possibly rotten. The sauce was fine but the meat itself tasted like styrofoam. One bite would be okay and the next would have this awful taste. I had to throw it away because I was getting worried that the dish was actually rotten in some way. really not good. Won’t be ordering again in fear of rotten meat.

They give you a great amount of food for the price that you pay and their service is great! :)

I have not ordered a LOT of Chinese dishes from this establishment because the three I keep going back for are everything I want: tomato beef chow mein, green beans in black bean sauce and lemon chicken. Totally fresh, perfectly seasoned, and DELICIOUS — I have no complaints whatsoever. I pick my order up, it is always steaming hot, the owner/cook always polite and smiling. And so affordable! Yes, this is a little hole in the wall — not a place where you’d want to dine — but the takeout food and service are five stars as far as I am concerned. Thank you, Sun Garden, I’m a loyal fan!!!

Ordered from here for many years. But last to couple orders were terrible. Tonight the food arrived congealed and cold. Very very bland and cold. Customer service was rude and argumentative. Very surprised after being a customer for over 10 years. Glad their are other Chinese delivery available in my area.

I get take out often from here and it is always fresh, hot and fast. I have no complaints to make about this place. It’s definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants for delivery.

I ordered wonton noodles and house special chow mein here tonight. The place is small and there are only 4 tables for you to eat. Its mainly intended for take out. So I got home after waiting just 10 minutes for my order and found out that there were 4 major things wrong with my wonton noodles. First, they didn’t separate the soup from the noodles so basically, after a 15 min ride home, the noodles were totally soggy and overdone. Secondly, they didn’t actually use the authentic egg noodles but used the«instant noodles» that you find in those quick-meal packaged noodles and powdered soup base at superstore for 50 cents. Thirdly, the wontons had no shrimp at all! Oh, and lastly, there was brocoli mixed in the whole mess. Being chinese owned, this version of wonton noodles is a disgrace to our culture and even worse than Hon’s.(And Hon’s is pretty bad). The house special chow mein was ok. Nothing special but typical. I didn’t try other things so I can’t really say this is one of the worst restaurants ever but don’t order wonton noodles here.

Very average Chinese-Western food. Decent, relatively bland, fair portion sizes. The one stand-out was the delicious sesame chicken, but the portion size for that was tiny. As another reviewer mentioned, the ingredients and sauces tasted pre-packaged, not home-made. Fine for late-night or last-minute, but would recommend looking elsewhere otherwise. Perfectly adequate, but in a vivacious city like Vancouver, you can do better.

I’ve eaten Sun Garden a couple of times as it’s in my neighborhood. The first time i ordered a Combo D and i didn’t really enjoy the food. Combo D is sweet and sour chicken, beef chop suey and chicken chow mein. It was pretty bland and the noodles tasted burnt but they didn’t appear burnt at all. Almost like i was eating lighter fluid. The s/s chicken was alright but a bit dry. I gave them a second chance thinking maybe it was an off night the last time i ordered. the food wasn’t a whole lot better the second time. For the money i guess it’s par what you get in return. I’d rather order from Lin or somewhere and get overcharged for smaller portions than go back here.

worst experience ever! this restaurant is extremely rude and has 0 customer service skills. I ordered and prepaid and when my food finally arrived i was missing the rice i had ordered. Not a huge deal but Chinese food without rice is blah. So i called the restaurant and they completely ignored my issue and spent 20+ minutes arguing with me that I had 100% received the rice! I DIDNOT! This all over a $ 3.00 item. I couldn’t believe it. They were accusing me of lying saying I received! Completely rude and ignorant the entire conversation. I will NEVER be ordering from here again.

Tried this place out one day since it is pretty close to my home. Weird that I never really noticed this take out place before. I ordered the curry beef and honey garlic pork. Curry was alright, not too spicy, but was not authentic Chinese. It tastes like it was made from store-bought stock curry. The beef was not tender. Best cheap and authentic curry is hands-down No. 9, Parker Place Food Court(that curry fish ball place) or Honolulu(Main Street — which is now closed) The honey garlic pork(boneless) was heavenly the first bite, but each bite became sweeter and sweeter after that. I had to throw half the order away because it became unbearably sweet. The portions are alright, not as ‘big’ as what you’ll get in Richmond for sure. I just don’t understand why there are reviews with perfect or near perfect stars for this take out place — the food isn’t good, the place looks like it could use a spray wash(or ten) and the people running it don’t smile and talk smack about the customers in the back(yes, I understand Chinese, Mr. Cook on the Wok).

Awesome food, quick delivery, scolding hot food! Now that’s what I like. I had to actually let it sit to cool down as I dished it out! Nothing was mushy, sweet and sour pork was perfect… definitely will be ordering from here again soon.

Sun Garden is our go to choice for stuff like egg rolls, sweet & sour pork, and deep fried chicken balls with pineapple sauce… good westernized Chinese food. We have never set eyes on the place, every order has been for delivery. We have probably ordered twenty or more times from Sun Garden and never been disappointed. We have never had a problem with the order, nor have we ever had to wait more than about 45 minutes. They’re on Just Eat but we find we get equally good service just by picking up the phone and talking directly to them. They have debit/credit at the door, couldn’t be more convenient. Portions are good and our food always arrives hot to our apartment in West End. They have a varied menu but we mainly stick to the old standards like chow mein, beef fried rice, the sweet & sour family, chop suey, egg rolls and such. We appreciate that they use plastic delivery containers that have very firmly secured tops, good for leftovers, and when you’re done you can toss the containers in the plastics recycling bin. I know that some foodies would never look twice, but for us the sort of food we get from Sun Garden is comfort food, the kind of Chinese food our parents introduced us to, and we still love it as much now as we did as kids. Try it: D

Ordered delivery this evening. I have often walked past this place(unfairly) thinking it was a money laundering business until I read the reviews on Unilocal.I ordered the dinner for 3. The beef with veggies was slimy and hardly contained any meat. The almond chicken was heavily breaded and the crumbs on to didn’t taste like nuts. The chow mien was yummy as were the spring rolls and sweet and sour spare ribs. My total cost was $ 38.52

After a particularly annoying weekend, we decided to order delivery from Sun Garden. This was our first foray into the whole online ordering world(and let me tell you, I wish we had not discovered how easy it is…) We ordered: Dinner For 2 — Chicken fried rice — Sweet & sour boneless pork — Beef chop suey — Egg rolls(2) — 2 fortune cookies (For only 23.00??) All of the above was really good, and came in large portions(btw this«dinner for 2» is more like«dinner for 3−4»). The exception was the Beef Chop Suey… ick. Only about 3 – 4 small pieces of beef, and the rest was slimy veg. Not a fan. The delivery took 45 minutes and the food was still hot. We’ll be ordering from them again!

Got delivery tonight. Food came luke warm. No plum sauce for the spring rolls. No veg(besides a ton of onion) with the beef chow mein(I realize it’s «beef chow mein» but every other Chinese restaurant always throws in veggies. We order out Chinese often). Worst part was, when I called to let hem know this(requested if they were still in my area to drop off some plum sauce), the delivery guy called me back and started arguing with me. I hung up. Bad service, bad attitude, so so food(not awful, but not flavorful). Fail. Def would not recommend. To many other good options in Vancouver.

I ordered delivery from this restaurant tonight and was extremely pleased. First of all, the delivery was really fast, and the food was nice and toasty when I got it. I ordered the wonton soup, chow mein with bbq pork, and almond chicken. All the dishes were delicious, and the price was super reasonable for the amount of food you get. I have enough food for lunch tomorrow, and maybe even dinner! Will definitely be ordering from these guys again the next time I get a hankering for Chinese food.

Ordered delivery from here, food came within the expected delivery time, only didn’t like that they don’t read the delivery instructions on where to bring the food, food was cold, they didn’t give me chopsticks or utensils or any fortune cookies!(my fav part about Chinese delivery! :() I got Dry Ginger Beef– Only okay I’ve had much better Chicken Fried Rice– No carrots hardly any egg, tiny amount of chicken If you don’t care about your quality of Chinese food then go for it, but I won’t be wasting any more money here.

that’s for the value & overall aspect, probably a 3 for the food. Remember, lots of these chinese quick service restos but this one primarily thrives on its takeout service. Only 3 tables there. But located in a very busy part of Oak and King Edward, so good luck in finding parking. The side streets are as tight as hell. The beef and tomato over rice was ok, typically more veggies than meat but nevertheless, hits the right spot. Not knock your feet off, but definitely reliable and clean.
