Had a lovely experience there. The service was really good in my opinion and the food was exceptional. I will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family. The pulled pork burrito was amazing.

Well it appears I have finally reached the low end of the fast food burrito chain experience. How have they been in business for so long? Was that 20 years ago people did not know what a burrito was? The only thing steamed about the burrito was the tortilla. Woopy ding dong. Bland tasting, boring and no spunk. Beans were the worst. Rice seemed parboiled, and the mole Sauce I had which covered my burrito(had the original wet with pulled pork) was brown sweet liquid. NOT Mole Salsa on the chips tasted like plastic. Chips were under par too. Price was average to almost over. Service meh. Repeat? Never

Well, that was a disappointment. But judging by the reviews, I think I may have just made a poor selection. I got the Basic Veggie burrito and it was utterly dry. After just 1 bite I ended up asking if they had guacamole or anything. The gave it to me at no extra cost, but recommended next time I try the Deluxe Veggie or Super Deluxe, which were less dry. Why bother even having a burrito that’s dry and not recommending extra sauces when I ordered it?

This one is not as busy as the Robson location which means that service is much much faster. It is much healthier choice in terms of fast food. Customer service was decent and prices were good.

This place rocks. I always visit when I am in the area — the staff remember your order from years ago which I love. I would highly recommend trying to the Tommy with beef(which is a bit spicy!). The Tommy sauce is a tomatillo sauce, drizzled with yogurt. Try it with half beans, half rice — it’s the best! Their tortilla soup is also to die for. Steamrollers is a great and healthy alternative to other fast food options that are in the area. Everything is cooked with steam, making it much better for you!

I had the«classic vegetarian burrito.» Inside was just rice, some lettuce, and black beans. Absolutely flavourless — I had to really lay on the hot sauce, and then it just tasted like hot sauce. It may be «healthy,» but it doesn’t have any of the flavours I would expect from a burrito, even a vegetarian one. At least it was filling!

Used to be a fan of the place. My girlfriend and I would pick up on busy nights once or twice a month. The staff was nice, food was decent. Last time we picked up a couple months ago we brought them home and they were completely inedible. I didn’t believe my girlfriend until I tried it myself. Some kind of weird sauce, curdled maybe? I don’t know. One spit up bite for both of us. Because we liked the place, we reached out with feedback, included pictures of the food, that same night. Never heard back. Emailed again a few days later. Nothing. Tweeted them, nope, nothing. Would have gone back if they made it right, but they didn’t, so we haven’t. Two regular customers gone for good.

I enjoyed my Pulled Pork Burrito today. I took it to go and therefore had no opportunity to add some extra hot sauce to it etc. as that would have probably jacked up the taste component for me. Seems to be some healthy choices on the menu, service was quick and that burrito hit the spot and filled me up.

Boo. No flavor. On the positive side — they are veg friendly! They offered to sub out yogurt for more guacamole at no charge which was great. HOWEVER I didn’t even notice the guacamole on there and technically that was a double order. It was just bland. The service was good — the lady helping me was very nice. I wanted so much to like this place, but I wouldn’t come back.

like this one a bit more than the Robson one, less hooligans and more office workers here… plus the communal table is kinda cool, interesting ppl to eat with. overall, a healthy version – everything’s steamed. clean washrooms too.

My first and last visit. Value was reasonable at around $ 9 tax in for the deluxe beef burrito, which was a decent size for the money. Service was friendly and fast. This is where the positives ended for me. I see other reviews suggesting the food from steamrollers is tasty, I could not disagree more! maybe I ordered the wrong food? The burrito was horribly bland, the meat itself had no flavour and overall the burrito just really lacked anything to make me want to keep eating it after the first couple of bites, other than my ravenous hunger and dislike for wasting food. Convenient locations and good, fast service may keep this brand running, but the cardboard food will not get me back. Still by far the best burritos can be found at Budgies around Kingsway and Main or my personal fav, the Taco Shack on Cornwall.

Fast, clean and friendly. I popped in on a rainy afternoon and had a nice veggie burrito with guacamole. I wish they had a location nearer to 4th ave in Kitsilano

Hello! I am going to attempt the 30-Day Unilocal Challenge 2012. Oct.1. I was heading across Broadway out to UBC and the lane of cars looked endless, so I pulled over for a quick bite. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and the food was fast and certainly filled me up for the afternoon. Only thing I would like is something saucier. When I asked for salsa it was not saucy as I would have hoped. I will try again as there are lots of choices.

edit: Bah, I take it all back! They’ve changed the quality of ingredients this year and it’s not the same. Allow me to demote some stars… — — — — — — — — - Steamrollers isn’t getting much love on Unilocal, and I hear you folks. But this review isn’t about«normal» Steamrollers, it’s about the Steamrollers that serves turkey burritos for two weeks around Thanksgiving(and perhaps now Christmas). What’s the big deal about Steamrollers turkey burritos you ask? Why it’s a home style Thanksgiving turkey dinner complete with carved turkey, stuffing and potatoes stuffed in a burrito and smoother in gravy and cranberry sauce! Did I mention it’s delicious? Because it is! Granted if you don’t like Thanksgiving Turkey dinners this will be a let down, but if you do… Boy oh boy! I have been known to have one for lunch and dinner on the same day. In fact For the third year in a row have called Steamrollers desperately asking them when do their turkey burritos start? Answer: Monday October 1st for two weeks. Joy! P. S. I’ve never reviewed a small chain. Is it fine to cut and paste a review from another location you frequent? Too late, I just did. Take that Unilocal

Good golly these ladies pop out burritos fast. Prompt service, not ever super busy, ample seating. Quality food for the time it takes to prepare. I would say it is more on the pricey side. I usually get the Tommy with chicken, then plus a drink you’re looking at $ 13. It is a nice treat once in a while if you’re willing to shell out the cash and intake the calories.

Stopped in here today in desperate need of nutrition. Selected a burrito from their limited vegetarian options while the amount of food for the price was good it was all very bland. Vegetarian food doesn’t need to be quite so dull, you can throw a little spice in it. The only thing that had any flavor was the salsa. In fact the guacamole was so bland I didn’t even know it was there until I looked. The cashier serving me also kinda brushed me off to give one of their regulars the VIP treatment, that was a little rude… fortunately i don’t plan on becoming a regular so I wasn’t too hurt by her disregarding me the second she had my money in her hands.

Sometimes, I am real good and actually go out and get HEALTHY fast food! I live in Vancouver, OFCOURSE that exists out here! This is especially great for the fitness on the go population… you have your delicious steamed wrap with all its nutritious goodness in a tightly packed foil wrap that you can eat in one hand while you fly out the door, yoga-mat in other hand and heart rate monitor racing! Ive tried both the chicken and shredded beef brisket wraps, both very tasty and flavourful. That’s the great thing about steam, none of the natural goodness of the ingredients is compromised and oily heavy sauces aren’t even needed for taste!(they have salsa, guacamole and garlic yogurt sauce that they use – all very fresh and healthy) For those who like it WET(is that dirty? Well, its THEIRLINE, not mine!!), you can get the wet rollers. they are the same great wraps just drenched in a mole, tortilla or tomatillo soup. And yes, I have tried all soups(except the tortilla soup)…very very yum. Unfortunately, you gotta sit down to eat these with a knife and fork… unless you don’t mind slimey hands and probably a slightly soaked shirt afterwards. But drink up that soup baby! Don’t let any of it go to waste!

Vancouver’s not known for the most authentic Burrito, and Steamrollers isn’t an exception. But if you want the illusion of a burrito, and be healthy? Then Steamrollers is your best bet! I love that they make it with whole wheat flour, brown rice, and will put your dressings on the side. That stuff packs on the calories if you’re not careful! The little Filipino ladies behind the counter were absolutely adorable, awesome service.
