The people working here are incredible. A few weeks ago I was stuck without bus fare at night and had just been yelled off a bus. I had no way to get home. The barista here talked to me for a while and gave me money to get home. It meant so much to me, I burst into tears. I was so afraid and I can’t express just how much it meant to me. Thank you.

The barista is always friendly at this location. I am a repeat and regular customer at this location. The barista even goes as far as preparing my drink the moment I step in the shop, just because I always order the same thing. It is a small location like other reviewer suggested, but it provides enough space for everyone to enjoy the space. The music for some reason is always good. It is a mix of country and jazz at different hours. I have always enjoyed listening to the music here while enjoying my coffee and book.

There’s an upstairs… more room and some privacy if you need it. Customer service was friendly. I had mint tea. Not rocket science to put a tea bag in hot water.

Are all Starbucks the same? This one definitely not! It’s a smaller location, with plenty of seats inside, a good mix of patio seats, chairs, and couches. They have seats outside(not covered) and wait for it — a charming rooftop patio. If the weather is nice — it’s a GREAT place to meet someone. During the week parking is ok, with both street parking, and two small lots either side of the store. At the weekend it will almost be impossible with all the Granville Island tourist traffic. The staff were friendly and efficient and the store is very clean and organized. Worth a stop, and really worth a stop if the weather is nice(for the rooftop patio :))

Great place to impress a coffee date, it’s got that fresh water feel in the air ;) One of the rare ones to have a patio with a real view of mountains instead of cars. Good stop over being heading to DT and paying for parking.

They have a perfect order sheet for the out-of-towners. We stop here a lot on our way in or out of the island. We usually sit on the side in front of the cartoon map of the area. The staff is really nice… But what really impresses me about this location is the cool order sheet they made. It has pictures of their drinks, syrups etc in four different languages. The attention to detail they put into this sheet… It must really help with all the tourists that frequent the area. They must really care that you get exactly what you want.

The best Starbucks with a great upstair patio or rooftop. Granville Island is next door.

Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this one but it’s a fave. Here’s why: –great place to stop on the way to GI for coffee, treat, water, bathroom stop(if it’s clean) or whatever you need. Just as good as JJ bean(in the market) for a reliable latte and faster service, too. –awesome upstairs patio that seems to get more sun than anywhere else along Granville or GI and with less wind, too. –friendly and accommodating baristas and staff; fast service in spite of the long lines. –can’t say too much about the indoor seating, but you should take your coffee to go and enjoy the beauty of the city, anyway! –overall, an absolute win and one of the best places for coffee in town, in spite of the fact that it’s part of the SB chain. Build up your stars and you can get your $ 4.50 coffee for free, too! You can’t say that about the competition, now, can you?

I really enjoy fresh drip coffee. This Place has it. Some times I even ask them to check the timer to see which pot is freshest. During morning break times this place feels like a Local Chamber of Commerce. If you work in the area we will likely run into each other here form time to time.

You’d think that with so many hipster, artisan coffee shops on Granville Island, one would not settle for the globalized Starbucks. But no. The familiarity of Starbucks brought me back here. How I dreamed of the commercially flavored macchiato; how I desired my patternless foam atop my latte in a tall paper cup. Why did I miss the boring ol’ Starbucks coffee you ask? Because you can always expect what is to be expected. You will never be surprised, pleasantly or otherwise. It’s almost like a childhood trauma — if you were once deathly frightened by a balloon popped next to your left ear when you were 4 years old, you’d be forever scarred by even the image of a balloon. Typing that word makes me shiver. How would I know these seemingly elite, individually owned coffee shops make awesome coffee(unless I Unilocal beforehand, of course), when I knew for a fact that Starbucks makes the standardized mediocre coffee, and sometimes that’s enough for me. This seems to be a popular Starbucks, located at the entrance of the island. If you don’t want to walk 79 steps to cross the bridge to get to Pedro’s organic coffee(and gelato!), then fine, settle for this little cozy Starbucks, just expect a really, really long wait.

I actually REALLY love this Starbucks. Easy street parking, big spacious location, the seating is spaced out and set up really well if you just want to hang out and chat with friends or want to work for a few hours. And the bathrooms are tucked around in the back. All and all they did good with this place. The only downside is — like many of the Starbucks in the Lower Mainland it just closes WAYYY to early!

I am happy when Starbucks makes my drinks right. and they take the time to listen to how you like your drinks and it comes out exactly how you expected. Considering this is a pretty popular spot with Granville island, you would expect the lineup to be long and orders to be mediocre. but it was surprisingly not busy and the ladies were nice. **On a Starbucks update — all of the tea bags have now been changed to full-leaf tea sachets… and it is fully vegan(I guess the previous tea bag was not). The flavours are apparently more apparent, but with that said, prices have also gone up. surprise surprise. They are now charging by the cup size which I find unfair because I am being charged for hot water essentially. They are also selling other organic snacks, which I’m not sure if it’s a good or bad thing, but it can also mean more selection for food at the stores**
