Even though it wasn’t crowded, we had to wait a while for our burgers. The wait was worth it! I had a StackHouse burger and the Mrs. got a Kobe burger. Great flavor. Outstanding onion rings to boot. The wait staff was very friendly; the service was outstanding.

Best burger joint I’ve been to in the city, hands down. The burgers are top notch quality, with a variety of toppings. My friend and I couldn’t decide between the Stackhouse Burger and the Kobe Burger, and when we decided to split them both, they offered to cut them in half for us! We appreciated how accommodating they were. Very budget friendly, and great location. I also loved the minimalistic feel of the place. Definitely going back!

I tried to take some friends to stackhouse and even though their website says they open at 11, it was NOT open at 11:40 when we came by. No sign on the door, nothing, the door says they open at 11.

Fried Pickles, Amazing hand-made burgers, budget friendly First, I think I lucked out when we walked a bit too far on Granville street one time and found this place. Great modern looking place with a minimalistic feel. Second, get the fried pickles! I am still thinking about it. Not to say the burgers aren’t great-which they are delicious, I just can’t remember the last time I had amazing finger-licking fried pickles. Fries are crispy. Mushroom burger was delicious! Overall, we left very satisfied. Third, for a hand-made burger and fries it only came out to be less than $ 10 without a drink. I do like their bourbon infused drinks. Definitely an underrated place in Vancouver. Will be back!

Terrible service, 25 minutes for 3 poutines in an empty restaurant. Poutines which were not poutines. Fries so salty they chaffed my tongue, with some ridiculous avant garde decision to use blue cheese instead of cheese curds. Pricey cheese means they put less of it in, so really all I got was salty wet fries and an extra 20 minutes to read angry Unilocal reviews on my phone.

Sometimes you just need a damn burger, you know? StackHouse has a modern, clean, simple interior, which turned out to be a pretty chill place to hang out. Service was quick and friendly. I chose the Stackhouse Burger because I was overwhelmed by the ingredients list, and figured that’s a pretty good indication I’m gonna love it. It was a great burger; I especially enjoyed the chipotle aioli. It was backed up with some nice, simple fries, too. Their selection is pretty wide, and it’s very reasonably priced, so you should definitely come here when you’re in the mood for a burger!

Well one thing I’ll say is that the service is great and the beer is cheap. If you stop in and Sophie is there she’s wonderful. I had the stack house burger and my friend the crab burger(I think it was the crab burger.). Sophie pointed out that the menu was a la carte so I ordered fries extra. My friend ordered the salad. The salad was wonderful! The fries were somewhat bland and I hate to report this but the burgers we both had were somewhat dry. I’m not sure if this is because the patty was overcooked or because the toppings and bun had sauce on it. I’m gonna have to come back and try this again. One thing I will say is that the presentation of the burger and fries and burger and salad was wonderful. It actually looked like art how it was presented.

I had a unique opportunity to sit down with the owner and pick his brain, and I was relatively impressed by his passion behind the stackhouse concept. He understands the complexity of running a successful restaurant, with his focus on providing a quality product at a fair price, while creating a dynamic dining environment. I’ve tried a lot of different burgers here, and I’ve settled on the house original, the stackhouse, prime rib patty with everything awesome on top! Cooked to perfection, juicy and full of flavor, I added avocado as any good Californian should, and smiled through every bite. Awesome food, great atmosphere, and budget friendly!

I was a little intimidated to go in before, because I thought the décor was too feminine(almost entirely painted white!) from the outside; like is it a soda fountain?. Today I went in — and found it oddly comfortable without lowering my masculinity at all(bonus– girl at bar sitting by herself!; hot waitress, too!) pancetta burger and fries for $ 7., was delicious and I feel, about right for the price. East Side promises pilsner on tap for about $ 6, rap music keeping the vibe– but what’s with america’s funnies vide– aww, cute; no, don’t look– aww damn that HURT! ok, turn away n– waat? Curse you, amateur video nuts! In 4 minutes I’ve seen more kids in baths with strange pets, kids on vehicles that should have had their wheels removed just to avoid the kinds of stupid stunts they end up used for, hilarious wedding bloopers and end reels(DON’T show this to your uncles) filled with things one should NEVER force on a bride, or wedding dress… what the hell, pour me another. At least there’s no chick films???

We’ve been walking by this restaurant a bunch of times and always mentioned that we should give it a try. So finally we did and it was alright. Maybe it was because the name of the place itself was StackHouse, we half expected there to be a «stacked» burger waiting for our grubby little hands. Don’t get me wrong, the taste was there(boyfriend had the Kobe burger and I had the chicken & waffles from their not-so-secret blackboard menu because they were out of crab — I originally wanted the crab burger) but the size of the meals were on the smaller side. But I guess that’s a given since the bill was about the same size as our portions.

I can understand what’s going on here… At one point the price point must have been high here– once it first opened. Then it reopened with a lower price point. And this must be reflective of the mess of reviews. The place: Clean, modern décor. If it weren’t on granville strip it would be a nice place to hangout even The service: Kind, excellent, friendly The burger: –They don’t do made to order, medium rare. –The burgers are good in flavour but lack juiciness from the necessity to overcook. –The burger comes with salad or fries at a 7 $ price point– SCORE! You can have a whole meal for 7 $! that’s pretty darn good. Someone needs to adjust to Unilocal –dollar-score ratings to a single ‘$’ to reflect the lower prices. For the price point, I’m down with this place. They also have great onion rings.

Been to this place 3 yrs ago and went back to give it one more chance. The ambiance is cold and the staff is not welcoming. We ordered a Kobe burger and a tuna burger. The tune was mediocre, but the beef patty was terrible. It was so oily, not fatty in a good way, undercooked and tested oddly. Salad was good. The fries were small pieces and terribly over-cooked. Some of the kitchen Personnel did not have the proper hygiene!

It wasn’t bad… Bright atmosphere… Friendly waitstaff. Decent prices, not a huge meal by any means… Burgers are more on the fancy side of things. Didn’t really impress me, and I wouldn’t put it on my list of go to’s… But wouldn’t avoid the place.

I have to say I was very underwhelmed by this place. Not only is the décor lacking but the burger was really not very good. It was missing seasoning, the patty itself didn’t taste of anything and the bun was soggy. Not impressed.

Newish looking place that sticks out since it stands out against the other aged buildings. I found this while on the bus as we were doing a drive by and was curious. I put this on my list from March 16th. I was aware of the polar 180 reviews going in, however, because they were so extreme on either end of the spectrum I still wanted to come in and see for myself and make my own decision. I split a burger with my best friend which came to $ 6. The burger and bun were awesome. Customer service was friendly and we were sitting at a window with lots of light. Everything was awesome. We will come back again. Better burger choice before a concert than some of the others on Granville.

I’m giving this place one star based primarily on poor service. Tonight was my second visit and unfortunately I left without receiving the food I had ordered. Our server came to take our order but after waiting roughly 20 – 25 minutes without anyone coming to check in with us, they finally came back to tell us that there has been a mis-communication with the kitchen and that they hadn’t made our food after all. They offered to make something for us on rush order, but unfortunately I don’t believe the food is good enough deserve waiting another 10 – 15 minutes for. If you’re looking for a cheap meal and have lots of time on your hands to wait, you may be able to try a descent burger. Just don’t expect good service because you might be disappointed.

Grabbed dinner with 2 friends on a Wednesday night around 730pm. We were the only customers at that time, but a few other patrons started to trickle in. Our server was totally awesome(Dani, I think?). Super helpful and really sweet. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Steak burger. The ahi steak was thick and seared perfectly. But the miso aioli was scarce, which left my burger feeling a little bland. The brioche bun was very delicious though — so buttery! But the best ahi tuna burger I’ve had is at Cactus Club. To this day, I haven’t found anything that tasted quite as good. It came with a side of fries and I asked for a side of truffle aioli, and a bit of truffle oil on the fries(let me indulge lol). The dip was great. Not too overpowering but accompanied the fries nicely. Well, all the ones that were cooked properly. The fries itself were disappointing. Some of them had a burnt taste to them, and the fries on the bottom were ACTUALLY burnt. Not too pleased. If you want tasty fries that are consistent in flavour, go to Romers. Paid around $ 15 for everything, so the price isn’t too shabby. Just wasn’t blown away. For a restaurant along the Granville strip, I expected better. Solid 2 stars, but 3 stars for the awesome waitress.

Deep fried pickles exist, but aren’t on the take-out menu :) And if you go you MUST get them. If you don’t even get a burger, that’s okay — you just have to get the pickles. I clearly can’t recommend them enough. Just typing up this post makes me want to go back and get them again. I had the stackhouse sliders here with a side of the pickles, and they were great! The sliders were perfectly sized, deliciously juicy, and well-topped with yummy fresh ingredients. The staff was fantastic, really patient while I debated about what to offer, and gave me a glass of water while I waited for my take out. I would love to come back and try a full burger next time. And of course, to grab another serving of the pickles ;)

Food is good. Basic burger is quite tasty. The seafood is less impressive. My only real qualm is that some of the servers(a couple of girls in their mid-late 20s?) give off a bit of a cliquey high school vibe. After a few times, it just gets off-putting, I’d happily just interface with the cook instead. They clearly could be doing better things with their time. And they should. Please smile and act happy to have a customer. I do in my job. I don’t demand servers salute me or walk on eggshells or anything, just don’t stand out as shitty.

Awesome experience trying my first burger in Canada, our server was full of personality and very attentive(Sharkey). They even offer a Kobe beef burger which was incredible, the fries and onion rings are also outstanding. They have a garlic aioli sauce which is packed with flavor to dip your fries and onion rings in. They have a full bar offering many small batch Bourbons and beers. This is located in downtown Vancouver and in the heart of downtown. I am a fan ! The only area of improvement would be to not cook the burgers to well done. I understand this is law in the area but should be considered for modifying. Cooking them so long really detracts from the flavor of the meat. This is a Canada issue though and not an issue for Stack House.
