I took the 3:30pm soap-making and bath bomb class on Sat, Dec 5 with my partner and it was a great experience. Beata is a great teacher and I really enjoyed the class format. It was a really wet and cold day in Vancouver and it was such a relief to get out of the rain and into the nice and warm studio at Soigné. So during the 3 hour class, we made our first batch of soap in the first hour with Beata’s instructions and help. She split us into two«teams», which was great for time since each team could do different steps of the process without too much waiting around for the other team, and, I personally kinda found it enjoyable working together with other people to make our soaps. We learned about the process of soap making and surprisingly some of the hazards. My favorite part of the whole process was how we got to customize the different essential oils and herbs and spices into our batches of soaps. I think my first batch was a tropical island essential oil mix with black sesame, orange, poppyseed(for exfoliating), beeswax(for extra moisturizing), and jasmine tea leaves(probably some other stuff too, that I don’t remember) The second hour with our second batch, Beata allowed us to work within our own teams and answer questions amongst ourselves as she had already given us the instructions in the first hour. We also switched up tasks so we could get a good idea of the whole process. My second batch had a jasmine essential oil with black sesame, chocolate, coffee, poppyseed, beeswax and jasmine tea leaves(probably some other stuff too). In the final hour, Beata showed us how to make bath bombs, and that was pretty fun too and much easier than the soap making process. In the end each team made 2 different scented bath bombs bathes each and so afterwards, all ten of us got to take home 4 bath bombs each. The jasmine scented one smelled amazing. I can’t wait to cut up my block of soap into the 4 bars it should make. Thanks Beata for a great afternoon! I highly recommend trying this class cause it was a lot of fun. I’m not sure if I’ll make soap on my own in the future, but it was a great way to spend the day. I found the class via groupon, and if I see other classes available, I’d likely join again.

Today I took the Soap Making and Fizzier Class. It was great! The studio was warm and toasty on this cold autumn day and Kacy was engaging and interesting. To be honest I normally do not care for group classes but was delighted with this one. Instructions were clear and precise and products turned out great. Most importantly, I LEARNEDALOT! Win, win and the best deal in town. I look forward to taking more classes with this teacher.

I attended Kacy’s 2.5 hr soap making class using a voucher purchased from social shopper. It was a very cool hands on experience, entertaining and educative! Kacy is a fun, professional instructor and her studio is neat and tidy! Absolutely love every little details she did to the place. My friend and I had lots of fun on our first soap making adventure! Definitely recommend to people who enjoys DIY. The studio also offers a variety of other crafting and designing classes; medal clay jewelry would be the next one on my list! ^^

Attended a soap making class today and was a wonderful experience! Instruction was thorough and time for hands on experience was provided. In 3 hours we made two soaps(herbs/spices/essential oils provided) and then did did group bath bomb creations, which we then took home a selection of 6 each! I have taken a few different classes through various voucher offers and I would definitely say this was the best and would be worth paying full price for! Now if only I didn’t have to wait 48 hrs to start slicing up my soap creations!!!

My boyfriend and I just did the Silver Solder Pendant making class and I highly recommend it! It would be so fun to do with a bunch of friends for a birthday party, bridal/baby shower, Christmas party etc at a reasonable price. I made a necklace for my sister-in-law for Christmas, I got to make 4 pendants for her and 1 for myself! My boyfriend made one for his sister, his mom and his aunt! The results look very sweet. Beata is a joy to work with too, she hosts her class in a collaborative artist space near Railtown that is very welcoming and inspiring. As soon as I left I told all my friends and can’t wait to go back! Check it out!

I found out about this studio on the make it! site and signed up for one of Beata’s classes. I will be signing up for my third class in September and can’t wait! Beata is a wonderful and passionate teacher, the classes are definitely hands on and she has many examples to get you inspired. The art studio is very nicely setup and you always run into one of the resident artists, which is very nice. I highly recommend this place and Beata’s classes. You can also find really cool gifts there. We need more places like this one in Vancouver!

Soigné is a wonderful workshop/art studio located in the Octopus Studios Art Space in the downtown eastside! I discovered Beata’s lovely studio a few years ago at the East Side Culture Crawl and have taken two workshops from her since. She has so many talents and is a wonderful teacher! She’s passionate about everything she teaches and is incredibly patient. I always visit her during the Crawl and have had many complements from the pieces I purchase from her(unique jewelry using millefluri polymer clay, soldered pendants, wood, leather, pencil crayons and my pieces I’ve learned to make from her classes). Beata offers small classes for groups of students(by appointment) and opens her doors to the public for the East Side Culture Crawl and at Portobello West in December(check her website for details). If you’re looking for something unique to do with your friends check out her small personalized classes! She’s awesome, and I’d recommend her classes to all my friends!
