I came here with my bestie on the way to see his grandmother. I wanted some fruits to snack on. Standard pricing as the other Safeway locations. This one is a bit smaller which is suited for the hood. A bit awkward to navigate through but manageable.

I am writing this rating purely for the deli that they have on the far north side of the store (right when you walk in the Arbutus street door). Sure, the grocery store is nice — well laid out and with plenty of variety but the deli that makes those fresh sandwiches is so great! For the price of a subway sandwich, you will get twice the food (by weight).
I highly recommend going in there to try out their chicken artichoke sandwich or the turkey bacon avocado. The meets are prepared fresh and are not those overly salted deli meets you’d expect.
If you are ferociously hungry, go for the large which is about 9 bucks but if you are just looking for a good sized lunch, you’ll be more than satisfied with the regular size. I have always had the Ciabatta bread but there are many to choose from and all look delicious.

I have been using this pharmacy for years. Kudos to Ted the pharmacist who spent the time looking for some prescription I have forgotten to pick up. As it was very expensive even with extended health, there was no way I could have paid for it again.
Personable service is getting rarer these days, really appreciate the GREAT SERVICE!

Like this Safeway because there is lots of parking. Cheap Tuesdays are great. 10% off all groceries on the first Tuesday of every month. However the prices are creeping up. This place is convenient, has an ok bakery and pharmacy is handy.

Like coming here during the evenings, a bit quieter unlike Oakridge. It’s a good size for the neighbourhood, a tad smaller.
Parking can be tougher in the day with the other businesses attached to the mini-​mall so it’s kinda convenient.

Safeway is not winning people over with their prices any time soon. So you would think they would focus more on their service. Unfortunately that didn’t happen either at this location. You could tell that staff members didn’t really want to be there because they all looked miserable. Once in a while you might get a really good person but generally this store struggles much in customer service. Perhaps it’s time for better training.

Just a quick update… I went by Safeway tonight to grab some eggs and cash. My cashier, Jackson was very friendly asking me about how my day has been. That was highly appreciated… Thanks Jackson…

This Safeway is like many of the other ones. They’re really pushing the upscale look, and this location is no exception.
Parking is plentiful in the lot out front. There isn’t too much going on at Arbutus Mall, so Safeway would probably the reason why 85% of the customers come here.
The staff were quite professional, and even took the time to call each of us by our names as we swiped our credit cards. The guy in front of me glitched up, and the cashier was kind enough to keep a conversation going to pass the time while he checked the price on his trail mix.
Of course, the only downside is that everything here (Safeway) costs twice as much as T&T. So you really are paying a premium to feel good.

This Safeway has rude staff. Staff at this Safeway act like need anger management therapy. An employee and I believe her name is Lynn started screaming and swearing out loud to another employee because the shelves weren’t stocked properly. I complained to the manager about the lady, and I told him that swearing out loud is not acceptable and it’s very unprofessional. The manager just laughed, and he told me that I need to lighten up. He said that he will talk to the lady who screamed out the foul language. I don’t think people should bring their kids if they shop at this Safeway.
