Honestly, red burrito sucks, its one of those places which charges high price for average food. Food tastes average, quantity mediocre — like 50 grand chicken in s burrito, 2 spoons sauce, 1 spoon beans, 1 spoon lettuce and onion, approximately all of this And they charge 9 bucks for it. Its better to go to a shwarma place or eat lemongrass chicken which are a times and a half or double in quantity Something around 6 bucks is good for the quantity ‚ Dunno what the management thought while pricing — its not even like v tasty or something, its just average The same for taco time

I had lunch today at the Red Burrito on Robson Street. I ordered a chicken burrito(there’s only size). It was interesting to have a tomato wrap as a choice … I’ve never seen one before. Mine had brown rice, black beans, chicken, tomatoes, mild salsa sauce and cheese. I love love love burritos and this one was just okay. They initially heat up the wrap but don’t at the end. Shredded cheese is the last thing that they put on(on top of cold veggies) so it doesn’t melt at all … they should put it on first and then put the warm chicken, rice and beans on top of it to soften it. BTW, they charge you extra for cheese and guac and it’s cash or debit only.

This place does not accept american cards! And they have no signs to explain that. The lady at the cash register was rude. I would not recommend this place to anybody

Had some tacos and a chicken tamale. Food was very bland, no flavor, supposedly a Mexican restaurant but Asians are cooking. Apart from a cheap price menu it is no good.

These burritos are nothing short of a great time. Fresh ingredients, decent portions, and a price worth killing over. The musical mix was great, pumping a little Nicki Minaj here and there. She’s really on top of the game right now. Only complaint? My burrito fell apart. It was carnal because I had to scoop the droppings into my mouth with my hands. How prehistoric gosh. Pro tip: Don’t take the entire burrito out of the foil. Just unravel as you go.

No. I think there is some good food to be gleaned from this place, but you’re on your own to order the right thing. Tamale is ok but nothing remarkable. Tortilla soup is a mistake, a bitter weird concoction almost devoid of chicken or anything else. Rice and beans are flavorless. Cash or debit only. Because fuck you if you’re going to try to saddle them with the vendor credit card surcharge that every single other restaurant in Vancouver is fine with. If you want good Mexican food and are willing to walk a couple more blocks, try The Mexican on Granville.

Super average Mexican place. Nothing is particularly bad but nothing is very good either, typical ingredients. It is nice that they offer whole wheat tortillas and brown rice. Service has been hit and miss. The bathrooms are raunchy. Tortilla soup is great, though, especially for the price. If you’re hungry the burritos are a pretty good size.

I am a born and raised Californian(who happens to be Latino). I was craving a burrito when I was shopping near Robson St. & stumbled upon the Red Burrito. I am saddened and disappointed by my experience. Far too pricey, not very tasty, and the service left a lot to be desired.

Probably not coming again in a long time. Paid $ 10+ for a Baja shrimp burrito bowl and only half the bowl is filled with substance and 6 shrimps. They topped the rest with lettuce, and that’s only if I wanted the greens, otherwise they would’ve served me with a bowl half empty. Can’t stand establishments that skimp on quantity, especially when quality average to begin with. I didn’t come to pay $ 10 to be NOT full.

I went here for lunch today. My chicken red burrito on tomato tortilla came to $ 8.35 at the till. I can’t eat spicy, so I went for the mild sauce. The service was quite fast and the ladies were nice. There’s some seats in the store for sit in. Oh! But most important, this place only accepts cash and debit. As for the burrito, it was filling, but the tortilla was a little on the softer side. Overall, it was good.

I’ve eaten here a few times, not ’cause of want but ’cause it was the only place that is open without large line ups. It’s also cheap and filling but for all the wrong reasons. It’s not bad but it’s not good either. The service has always been decent and the workers smile and me so it’s all good. They can be skimpy at times on the condiments. Their burritos especially the black bean is really a guilty pleasure during shark week.

This was a go-to place for me. For 3 years I ate lunch here once a week(chicken burrito was great, beef and pork, has odd flavor, not at all Mexican). Since then, the prices are going up and the quality is going down. Started eating the tamales several months ago and the quality was on the edge until today when i got a tamale that was not steamed for the proper length of time and yet, they served it to me and it was way under-cooked(awful and chalky). The beans(usually good) were very bland as well This is a great concept and had been a good spot, but I think it lacks quality control and management so does not live up to it’s potential. Too bad, I thought this was a winner. I give it a 2 for concept and effort, but they really need a staff member who knows what the food is supposed to taste like rather than the cheap counter staff they hire to cut costs.

As I age, there’s one important lesson I need to learn. Just becuase there’s a burrito place nearby doesn’t mean I automatically have to eat there. Or maybe the lesson is simply that not all foods wrapped in a tortilla qualify as burritos? In the end, three things killed Red Burrito for me: 1. The salsa had sort of a smoky BBQ sauce-esq sweetness to it. 2. The tortilla was too thick. Usually it’s a bad sign as well when a burrito joint offers different flavors. 3. The chicken was a mismatch of textures, with burnt pieces and dry pieces mixed together. There’s nothing more that I can really say except this is not my kind of thing.

Came across this resturant and it was good. Kind of has a Chipotle vibe to it but not as good. I’d go back when I’m in the area.

She was like«Damn that’s a big burrito». I just chuckled. Great location, enormous variations of food. You get a lot for your money here, and the innuendos are free.

Red Burrito gets a lot of flack, but I actually like this place. The burritos are huge, the price is decent and I’m really satisfied after eating here. I like being able to choose what goes inside my burrito. I love an insane about of lime so they will litterally squeeze 4 wedges of lime in. Filled with meat, rice, beans, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, sour cream and lime, — that’s how I like it. When I’m finished, it’ll be 5 hours before I’m hungry again.

This location is clean, bright, and open until 10pm. I have been here on a number of occasions (usually after a craving for Mexican and since there isn’t allot to chose from, I end up here) Tonight, there wasn’t much of a wait, as only one person was in front of me. You have a choice of meat and how you would like it served–(Bowl, Burrito, Tacos-probably one other but I always chose the bowl as it does not get soggy) This time, the server was somewhat friendly. Most of the staff at this location seem to only speak limited English, so perhaps that is why, at times, staff here come off as less then happy to serve you. I ordered one pork bowl, and one ½ chicken, half shrimp. At times this is met with either some complaining, or a «that will cost extra» or «we only will give you x amount of shrimp» tonight there was none of that. Going down the line you are asked what you would like –rice and beans(yes) tomato(more of a chunky salsa) Sauce– hot is red and mild is Verdi/green. Sour Cream, Cilantro, Lettuce, Fresh Lime, Onions(never for me) and some corn salsa(not sure if that is what it is as I always decline) If you want Guacamole, or Cheese be prepared to pay extra. I usually order 2 Guacamole & Chips and add a bit when I get home, Tonight, I noticed the grated cheese was available in small plastic to go containers –so I splurged on one. Total for 2 bowls, 2 Guacamole & Chips, One cheese to go was apx. $ 27.00. Not too bad, as it tends to be a good size amount of food, and I can eat it for dinner, then later on as a snack. Overall, I wold normally give this location 3⁄5 starts, but customer service tonight, and the fact it was so clean and bright warranted 4 stars. Hope they keep up the good work!

This review is for 12/31/2011. After being arriving in Vancouver and checking in at Samesun, I finally met up with my old friend from my neck of the woods. I guess the sushi that I ate earlier in the day and the drinking at Samesun, I got hungry. So, my friend and I headed over to the Red Burrito. I don’t remember how I got here. Actually, I am not even sure why I am writing. I do remember bits and pieces of Red Burrito. I do remember the two girls behind the counter… No…No…You’re sick that I made you think that way. I remember my burrito or the tortilla was RED. Yup, the restaurant is defined by their tortilla. However, it does come to a pricey cost. With two burritos and two waters, I believe my total was about $ 21 and change. The burrito was great, but the price was probably one big reason why the rating for this place is low. I was actually thinking if Baja Fresh could come to the Downtown Vancouver area and try to compete for business, unless they have already. I think I would have gotten more pizza and Starbucks for that price. I would like to try this place again when I have the chance, but as I bring my verdict. Three stars is pretty reasonable. The price is one factor even for a person that drank a lot a few minutes earlier. I guess the prices are high since they are still building their website… lol. Unilocal is My Review, My Story, and My Life. Its time to share it.
