Stopped going last year. Maybe changed ownership, but the quality has dropped tremendously. My last dish there was BC rolls and Sushi. The BC rolls consisted of what looked like cucumber skins with very little evidence of salmon. The sashimi was literally a plate of salad with tiny chips(smaller than ¼size sugar cubes) of fish that didn’t look like salmon. Coworker noted the server handled dirty dishes, money and food without washing between the three things, plus dish washing in dirty solution.

Generous portions. Their dynamite and special rolls are all very tasty.

LOVE this place and the fact that it’s in my neighbourhood! Great food, excellent portions, friendly efficient service! The California Rolls, Teryaki chicken, salmon bento box, tempura, all very good, so much I’ll be having leftovers tomorrow! Will be back again soon…

My roommate n I had really bad food poisoning after having their sushi or roll combo. Didn’t know how nasty their food was until I checked some reviews saying how dirty their kitchen was DONTGOTOTHISPLACE it’s such a torture.

This place used to be the bomb… I would come here all the time with my buddies and get the amazing Sushi Special that was such a huge portion! It was really tasty too. NOW though, the service is totally trash. The server looks like she is super super depressed(possibly dealing with personal matters at home) But it really comes out in her service. No matter how mice you are to her she never smiles and just drops your food on your plate and walks away. Not the same person she used to be… The food is less than mediocre now and tastes very bland, way too much rice covering a itty bitty portion of whatever roll you ordered. It all has a funny taste to it now. I live only 3 blocks away and needless to say I’m very disappointed I had to find a new sushi joint. Luckily there are a lot of amazing places in Kits for quality cheap soosh. If the service last gets happy again and they begin to care more about the food they make, I may come back again as a regular. I said that 2 years ago and I’m still waiting…

Don’t eat there. Trust me. Just don’t do it. If you care enough about what you eat and where you dine to be reading Unilocal reviews, then you aren’t going to be satisfied with this place. I went there out of obligation to a misguided friend who was ‘back-in-town’ and had gathered some folks for a lunch date. After seeing the other Unilocal reviews about sushi quality, I ordered the cheap vegetarian bento box, and was happy I did after seeing others in the group respond to the taste and quality of their seafood. There were definitely uneaten rolls when we left the table. The bento box had veggie tempura which was greasy but fine, an average quality yam roll, and some rice with very soft tofu and teryaki sauce. I stayed away from the salad. This veggie bento box was certainly tolerable, and acceptable for $ 6.95. In regards to the service… I’d say consistent with what others have said. Our server did not remember what anyone had ordered. There were 6 of us, but every time a dish would come out she would stand at the end of the table with a completely clueless look and just hold it until someone recognized it. Do you want water or tea? Good luck. I just gave up and went and poured it myself from the server station.

I have been living in Australia and honestly I cannot wait to get home and have some QQ. The rolls are big and tasty and cheap. I guess the california roll is a little overly crab filled and isn’t my favourite but the combo I always get has 18 pieces for like $ 6 and comes with Miso soup. When I have sat inside and ordered other things it was also pretty good. Basically it is good for the price although if you want to spend more elsewhere you can obviously find better. It is a pretty small place so I usually get take out. I also think they are closed on Sundays or something so you may want to check on that.

Décor(1⁄10) This is a smaller space. The walls are painted bright orange and the place look a little dirty. For a place that service sushi I would prefer a way cleaner restaurant. Service(5⁄10) Service was quick. Not much interaction as I was getting take-out Food(1⁄10) Sushi was find until I found hair in it. That is not acceptable. Chefs should where hair nets so this wouldn’t have happened.

I went to QQ today and was sorely disappointed. Now, I love cheap sushi, but it wasn’t worth it. I showed up as QQ was opening. I noticed after sitting down that the table had not been properly cleaned the night before. I usually go for a roll combo, but the offerings were few and kind of weird. The combos were almost all nigiri sushi. Who doesn’t do a California combo with tuna and salmon maki? This place. So I ordered off the regular menu. I got a California roll, yam roll, and tuna maki. It came to almost $ 10, a good bit more than I would ordinarily spend. The rolls were improperly made; the nori and rice didn’t go all the way around. The crabmeat was a little fishy tasting. The yam tempura? Almost more tempura than yam, and it was doughy, not crisply fried. It was some of the worst sushi I’ve ever had.

Service was slow and they were rude. Took forever to get water and when the food came it looked bland and less than appetizing. The miso soup was pale and tasted like dirty dish water. My salmon teriyaki looked like it had been frozen for well over a week. I can’t get over how unpleasant the waitresses were. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. My friend and I had barely eaten a third of our food before we got the bill and took the rest to go. I wish I had a dog to feed it to. Don’t go there!

Cheap sushi at the right price to dine for lunch every day. Decent for pricepoint. Fast service.

If you are looking to never, ever get water even though you ask repeatedly during every of the 20+ visits you have made, go here! The service is exceptionally crappy. The orders also arrive with no rhyme or reason. Sometimes you will wait 25 minutes for your sushi, and the people that just arrived 5 minutes ago get theirs before you. That said, I HAVE been here so many times because A) it’s so cheap and B) it’s very close to my house. When I want two California rolls, there is always QQ. When I want Japanese food that is not white-washed and actually has some life and flavor in it, I do not go to QQ. 2.5 if I could. The deep-fryer in the kitchen is visibly gross. So proceed with caution there.

Relatively close to my work, and even faster and cheaper than the ‘fast food’ joints in the neighbourhood. I always get the sushi special. $ 6.50 for more than you can eat in rolls(yam tempura, cucumber, California and I think dynamite) including a miso soup. As you can imagine, the rolls above are very difficult to mess up, so they taste fine, usually not rolled perfectly, but similar to their more expensive counterparts at other more expensive places. It’s always very busy at lunch time(but I always order to go). If you are going out with anyone else to eat a good sushi/Japanese meal I would not go here(suika next door is a FAR better option). For a quick, cheap, relatively healthy bite to eat this place is a great option.

FASTFOODCAFE — if you are looking for speedy sushi this is the place. It has limited service and limited spaced. The food is okay for budget japanese sushi. it not the cleanest but will do in a pinch. They have sushi specials and lunch boxes that are reasonably priced. Most of these special just went up in prince by .50 which still make them perfect for lunch. The seating is tight and you should think about 11:30 for a seat. if you go at noon it will be full and you will have to wait. the take out and call ahead work well but they seem short staff all the time so it is slow in dine in service. I think of this place like a cafeteria. where you kinda get your food and there are no frills like service. I go there often because it close to work but if there is something better i would dump this place in a heart beat.

QQ Sushi what is your deal? Your sushi is often between good and so-so and sometimes your floors are a bit dirty but, your conveniently close to my work and the prices are cheap. I can’t decide whether I like you or not as a restaurant. I like the yam tempura rolls myself but the rest of menu I’ve had usually isn’t very memorable but, not so horrible I’d rant about it. However, when it’s good it’s good, and I go home full and satisfied just like I did today.

Just like an overstuffed burrito that bursts at its seams, QQ rolls its sushi so colossally that the rice fails to fully wrap around it. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. There are certain days when one feels like gorging oneself on mammoth slabs of fake crab and infernal«Dragon» and«Magma» rolls that have meandered their way from the bowels of gluttony to the bursting biliousness of overindulgence. If there’s a price to such enormous sushi here, it’s not one that hurts your wallet, unless you need to buy a new belt. Sushi combos and bento sets are priced modestly and apportioned generously. Order less than you think you’ll need and don’t hesitate to ask for a box to go. This Chinese-run joint maintains a frenetic work pace with a functional system to fill take-out orders and serve in-house customers quickly. Quality yields to sheer volume and quantity, but sometimes, y’know, that’s good enough!

Ordered the Katsu don, pork w/rice, again, though i vowed to try something new… but for this humungus portion for $ 5.95, and enough food for 3 meals for some, seriously, how can anyone go wrong with this? and pork is a bit healthier than beef, lol.

Had an opportunity to wreck myself on their takeout. Don’t know about the parking or the pricing, as someone else picked up the food. And paid for it.(Yay!) The rolls are done quite well here. The sashimi is fresh, and the slices are nice and thick. The filling for the rolls is quite sufficient to keep one happy. They don’t go crazy on the rice, which is good. Just the right amount. The beef terayaki is also light on the sauce, which is good as many other places drench the food with that stuff. I can’t talk about the value as I don’t know the pricing, but the sushi here is freaking good. Rivals Samurai for awesomeness. Recommended.

How far can you walk in any Vancouver neighbourhood before you see a sushi restaurant? It’s like a Zen riddle. No but seriously, I think there are more sushi joints in this city than Starbuckses. I think there are more sushi places here than ironic-mustache-sporting hipsters riding fixies. There are more sushi stands than tiny sweatered dogs sticking out of Yaletown yoga-pants-wearing cell-phone-walk-and-talking real estate agents’ purses. There are more sushi restaurants than there are one-dimensional Vancouver stereotypes for me to make fun of. There are so many sushi places that when one closes down, another one opens in its place. Like QQ, which opened up immediately after Opera Sushi closed down in the same location. But I’m not complaining… like QQ, most of them are A-OK. As usual, the rolls are slightly too big to be eaten in one bite, and moving them around with chopsticks is difficult — which is annoying; but the fish is fresh and the food tastes good. The miso soup here is a little different, in a good way. One of the many benefits of having 3.5 sushi restaurants per capita is that they are usually incredibly cheap. QQ is no exception. We had a specialty roll, a BC roll, a nigiri combo plate, an order of gyoza and two miso soups for $ 11.50 each(incl tax and tip).
