This is my first review EVER. Awful food and very bad service. My «wrap» was shredded and you couldn’t even hold it properly, and not just mine, my bf’s as well. And I went to talk to the owner and he just looked at me basically saying I’m sorry but I can’t do anything and turned his back at me. To make it even worse the meat didn’t have any flavor.

Yeah, I had an okay meal here earlier this Summer. This time, I walked past several uncleaned tables from the side entrance and waited at the counter to place my order. And waited. Meanwhile, I pondered the liquid left in the«frozen» drink dispenser at the counter before one of the staff interrupted their chat to notice me waiting to place my order. «Chicken Shawarma Plate, please.» OK, he looks like he’s getting to work on it… A moment later, his co-worker asks for my order. «Chicken Shawarma Plate, please…» «That’ll be fifteen dollars, please.» «It’s $ 8.50 on the menu.» «I’m just joking!» «Mmm, OK, and I’m just taking my business elsewhere.»

Ordered a chicken shawarma wrap to go last night. Ate half of it before noticing a long strand of hair in the wrap(definitely not my short hair). Spat out the rest, drank a liter of mouthwash and will never go there again until they start wearing hair nets.

I was having beers with a few friends after the Canucks game. They left a few minutes ahead as myself and my girlfriend had to finish our beers. As i was leaving a guy stole a bottle of liquor and ran out the door. I try to stop him but he got away. I alerted the worker and offered him some money to cover a bit of the bottle because I felt bad. He said I would have to pay for the bottle because the guy was sitting with my party. This was not true. I tried to leave and he physically pushed me(I am a 5“2 female) and locked the door. I told my girlfriend to call 9−1−1 as the worker said his owner was on the way and I couldn’t leave until I paid for the bottle. When my girlfriend took out her phone he locked the door so I again tried to leave and he pushed me again. I started just pushing him against the door to get it open and banged on the door and VPD. An officer came and I was able to leave. This place is a joke. Physically assaulting me and unlawfully confining me when I risked my safety to help them and offered my own money to cover the loss as it seems the owner is a dick and was going to make the employees responsible. Never go here or you may be physically assaulted or confined if someone steals something.

tonite made a quick pit stop before the canucks exhibition game. wanted the roasted lamb platter but sold out so settled for the chicken shawarma. Pretty tasty all around, w/greek salad & plenty of rice. skin cooked just tender. but the bread was pretty bland, and avoidable. came w/a pop for just under $ 9. new renos. nicer tables & finishing than previous. the pizza looked uninspiring. yet will return here again.

My favorite pita place in town. Every time when I don’t feel like cooking after a long day, I get off skytrain while waiting for the bus, I’ll go here to buy some food, super convenient. Lamb plate is defo my favorite. I was upset because they were closed for renovating for a while. So happy it’s reopen now and serving pizza as well. My boyfriend and I went to try the pizza today, it’s so awesome too! They know how to cook the food right. Love it

This place wins points for being literally right across Rogers Arena when you get off the skytrain. It’s perfect when lining up for that GA show and you need to fill up to the max without having to go too far. It’s not the best place to get Mediterranean food, however, for what it is… it’s decent with no complaints. Best value for your buck. Very generous portions and the staff are friendly. Seating is limited inside as this is meant to be eaten in line before your pat down to hit the GA floors. For the platters I recommended splitting it with someone as one meal for one person is way too much and will cause you to have cramps in the most pit. I learned this the hard way at the Rogers Arena Iron Maiden show.

This place is great. So cheap and so good. Their roast chicken was delicious. People gripe about the quality of food or whatever, but its probably one of the hidden gems in the area. Everyone heads over to costco at lunch and lines up. Smart people go to pita king for delicious, fresh cooking.

Not my favorite Schwarma place in town but it’s more than decent. The owner is friendly and you get your food quickly. Not a lot of seating but it’s a decent size. The food is a bit bland but still delicious. Overall, if you’re in the area and hungry, give it a go. Else, pick somewhere else.

I frequent this Pita King about once a month or so… so I guess I’m a little familiar with the fare and the setting… Generally I don’t even have to place an order… more just stand in front of the counter and they’ll get ‘the usual’ ready for me.(eep… embarassing) Is it 5 star fare… no… but it isn’t 5 star pricing. Do I leave feeling overly full… yes… and EVER time I tell myself… only eat ½ — ¾ of the damn chicken pita… but I just can’t STOP!!! Even worse is when I’m not even hungry… and I’m walking down the SkyTrain steps and I’m assaulted by that lovely chicken smell wafting… ugh! I just ate breakfast… give me a break! ;) The calamari for those wondering was pulled from the menu like the fish and chips because someone in the building above(Espana) complained about the smell of the fryer exhaust… so if you want to lay blame… don’t tell the owner of the Pita King… he lost a lot of business on that deal. I’ll keep coming back. In the neighbourhood I sometimes go to Hakone Sushi for a quick bite… occasionally the food court in the International Village Mall(yes… that’s the name, it isn’t called Tinseltown… that’s just the former name of the theatre up top)… Costco… not too often, just can’t do a hot dog, and the Montréal smoked meat is ok… but sometimes I just need the pita. :)

Ughhh I wish I could go back in time and undo my decision to grab take-out from here. Got the veggie platter which included salad, 2 pieces of potato, rice, pita bread, spanakopita and 2 pieces of falafel. The spanakopita was very greasy and the phyllo pastry was chewy rather than flaky. Falafels were crispy but not in a good way; they were so dry I had to douse them in hummus and tzatziki so they wouldn’t scratch the back of my throat. The pita bread tasted like cardboard. Fine, there was no one but me to blame for coming here at 9-ish pm. Obviously the food has been sitting under the heat lamp all day. Worst part is that I was extremely thirsty for the rest of the night, even after consuming copious amount of water(Ok it might have been copious amount of wine — yes red wine with cheap takeout, I’m classy like that — but I know it was the food). I woke up the next morning and I was still parched :( Large portion of food for $ 6.75+hst. Just don’t come at the end of the day. Based on the other reviews I *might* come back to try the shawarma(it was sold out by the time I got there).

This is not Café Medina: it’s a spot that sells cheap filling lunch that tastes good. I’ve had the chicken shawarma(nicely crisp edges), barbecue chicken and shawarma plate(best value) and liked them all. Wish they’d douse more hot sauce, but will never complain about the food. When you see the workers line up at lunch time, and you smell the aromas wafting out, you know you can’t go wrong.

The owner is very friendly, portions are large, food is tasty, price is reasonable(between $ 6-$ 8 on average). It’s a great place to grab a quick bite before/after the game, or if you’re not feeling like your regular hot dog or sandwich at Costco next door. Sure beats the food inside Rogers Arena, both taste and price wise! A little sad that they took the calamari off the menu, but their shwarmas are excellent, and their ingredients are fresh. Two thumbs up!

RIght at the foot of Stadium skytrain station. across from Rogers Arena Good food for a decent price! I enjoyed their chicken shwarma pita and side of roasted potatoes. reasonable prices too at about $ 8 for the combo. beats anything you can get at the arena. good place for a quick bite before the game!
