The wraps are amazing. So good. Even the bread is homemade! My boyfriend makes the whole range of nom-nom noises when he eats these wraps. Bacon makes everything better but these guys manage to make bacon better! Do NOT pass up one of their Bacon Caramel Brownies when available. My boyfriend actually FELLTOTHEGROUND when he had his first bite! Is he kind of dramatic? Yes, But not insincere.

I can’t believe I’m giving bacon 2.5 stars… We tried it at the Farmers Market. We ordered, I left my friend waiting and went off to shop. I finished ALL of our shopping and he was STILL waiting. When we finally got our food, the first few bites were good, but between the salt and the grease neither of us could eat more than half. It would definitely hit the spot at 1am after a night out, but I can’t imagine eating it for lunch in the middle of a workday or waiting that long again.

Awesome truck, fantastic food, have only ever eaten the Southern Piggy — about 30 times since I first had it. My partner goes with the Pig LT and loves it! For the price and how full you are afterwards, it’s perfect. A must for any bacon lover out there!!! just wish they where at the Art Gallery more! Most recently been going to the markets just to get a tast.

Definitely not for the faint at heart, and all you carnivore lovers out there, rejoice! They know meat, and they know it well! The porker is insane! Get it, you won’t regret it! Hey, I just unintentionally rhymed! :D The porker is filled to the brim with thick pieces of smokey bacon and a huge chunk of meatloaf(which was actually a sausage shaped like a meatloaf!) After you pay you can choose a «piggy» character and when your order is ready, they call you! I chose«squeal young» haha get it, Neil Young, because he sings aka squels?

This little piggy went to market… I love it when Pig on the Street shows up at the West End Farmer’s Market. This is absolutely my favourite food truck. The Pig-LT is just about the best thing ever put in a wrap. First of all it’s huge and weighs over a pound so make sure you’re hungry! The generous portion of thick sliced, double-smoked bacon is always perfectly cooked — crispy yet tender at the same time(I don’t know how they manage such a feat lol) but it’s the combination of the fresh greens, creamy avocado, tomato, cheese and maple mayo that have my taste buds singing every time.

I never thought i’d give bacon lower then a four star. Ever. But this little piggie didn’t go all the way home to the 5-star review bank. It’s shuffling in the 2.5 range for me. Maybe my expectations were too high. From their pork centered menu to their hilarious & adorable line keepers(when you order, you are given a small wooden pig with names like Luke Skyporker and other fantastic pun-laden sci-fi references), my hopes were sky high for this pink little pork truck. They had a limited menu for Food Cart Fest so I partook in The Porker. Double smoked bacon, sausage & bacon stuffing with sage & apple, goat Gouda, greens, apple & cider chutney. There is nothing — NOTHING — in that description that should have gone wrong. But I wasn’t wolfing down on the spot, instead, I took mine to go and therein may have been my problem. I hop, skipped home ready to happily tear into what is a hefty damn portion for a reasonable price. I think the sandwich may have sat for about 40 minutes between ordering to home, and that’s being generous with the time. Either way, a sandwich should have some longevity to it. And I was disappointed. I so SO didn’t want to be but the sandwich just didn’t jive with me in the least. The bacon is f&*king tasty. I will 100% give you that. Tasty to the point that I WILL return to try something else on the menu. But the goats gouda threw me off. There was a smokiness to it that didn’t sit right. And though the bacon was drool worthy, I found the sausage patty to be chewy and completely over powered everything else in the sandwich. It felt too heavy all around. I didn’t finish it. ME. She with the hollow legs, didn’t finish her bacon sandwich. I never thought i’d see the day… So round one flopped for me. But I have faith that there’s a turn around in the future. I’m going to head back to FCF and give these guys another go. And I cross my fingers that I steer in a more favorable direction, because a bacon themed food cart and I should be inseparable and i’m not giving up that dream without a foodie fight!

I came by this place while I was in downtown during a weekday. I have to say this place is well worth my wait on a nice hot summer day during lunch time. I ordered a Southern Piggy wrap and a blueberry lemonade. The total came up to be 13.00. They take cash and credit card.(Although they do charge a service fee if you pay by card, thank god I had cash at the time). The wrap itself pretty much weighted about 1.5 to 2lb. Man, it was filling and good. The Sourthern Piggy had bacon, bell peppers, veggie, corn and some kind of sauce. It was really good. While waiting for my order they got me to choose a wooden piggy. I chose Mc Hammer. It was their own way of calling you when your order was ready. Very unique I would say. I would definitely come back and try the other wraps that they have.

When mentioned, there was no way I could pass up trying their, «Hair of the Hog». This little brownie bite was made with bourbon, and topped with caramel and candied bacon. You got an immediate punch from the bourbon, but it was soon after smoothed by the thick and rich caramel. The bacon gave this bite a salty component that complimented all the sweetness of the chocolate. Yum, shame it was only a bite and not a bar for $ 2.50. They also had a vegetarian option still available. It is aptly named, «No Piggy». It excluded bacon, and instead had a complimentary mix of cheese and vegetables. Though I questioned the need for such an option at this food truck. Surely when you visit a truck named«Pig on the Street», it is safe to assume that there is meat on the premises, and lots of it. I highly doubt many vegetarians would approach the truck close enough, to single out a non meat wrap. Though the wait may be long to order and eat, it is made a little bit more fun by way of their numbering system. Instead of the traditional pick a number, you are enlisted to pick a pig. You choose a wooden pink pig block from a pen of over 15. Each block had its own famous name, done pig-er-ish. So instead of David Beckham, you had«David Bakeham». Han Solo was«Ham Solo». But«MC Hammer» remained the same. I quite liked coming up to their counter to receive my wrap after«Pamela Hamderson» was called into the crowd. Would I go back? — Yes. Would I recommend it? Yes. «Pig on the Street» provides delicious meals for those on the go, and at a little over $ 10, you are better off with one of these healthier wraps as a posed to a generic fast food combo. Despite a line, the orders came up relatively fast. And after 10 minutes of holding and only nibbling; my wrap still held its form, not a drop made the bottom soggy, and not a drip fell through its folds. This was a real standing up wrap. With bacon so good, this is something you can only get if you make an effort to come meet the«Pig on the Street. Don’t deny your cravings on this one.

I tried this truck when they first opened by the Art Gallery. I was immediately addicted to «The Porker». So much bacon. So much sausage. The goat cheese, caramelized onion and arugula were perfectly balanced inside the wrap. And oh my god, the wrap! Homemade and hand-grilled. It had a satisfying chewiness that you can’t get from store-bought tortillas. Told my spouse about this amazing treat. Decided to seek them out on a weekend. Went to the Waldorf, the Pig was sold out. Drove out to the Pig and Mortar — they were closed. Went to Nat Bailey’s — they took the day off! Spouse insisted the Pig didn’t exist… a made-up fantasy to torture his bacon bone. Finally spotted them last weekend. The words«2 Porkers please» never sounded so good! Even then we had to wait 30 minutes… They were so busy! A whole year to gets his hands(you need both hands) on it. I waited for his response — so worried that I over-hyped it. He took a few quiet bites, walked away. He sat down on the sidewalk, hunched over his wrap like a lion protecting it’s kill. The price seems a little high at first, but it is food-crack afterall.

Pig On the Street… Hamwise Gamgee! Now I know that sunny days are in short supply here in the gray Vancouver winter, but that is no reason to deprive yourself of top notch street food under an umbrella. Not only because there is little to no lineups, but there is AMAZING food to be found. The blocks surrounding the Vancouver Art Gallery is one of those places that deserves a foodie walkabout year round. What you will find is a whimsical little pink van with piggies all over it and 2 cheery pork serving faces to greet you. This is Mark and Krissy and the Pig on the Street is their baby! My craving for blue cheese and passion for mushrooms made my choice on the menu easy as pie… The Piggy Blues! Double smoked bacon, grilled mushrooms, creamy mild blue cheese, greens, caramelized onion mayo! All wrapped in a soft but thick and fluffy tortilla wrap. My first thought on this one was blue cheese = salty, bacon=also salty… this one needed serious balance to even out the texture and flavor, but it seriously works! With the greens and mayo matching the savory texture of the mushrooms, oh my heavenly. If you have been previously put off by blue cheese, might want to give it one more shot. The balance of flavor makes this wrap so filling and amazing and the blue cheese is so creamy and smooth it is a total palette pleaser. In the heat of summer the Pig on the Street is brewing a lemonade that shouldn’t be missed. And then there is the brownie bite… and not just any brownie bite. They make a… Bourbon Bacon Caramel Brownie! and baby, this little treat has a LOT of booze in it. It is seriously called«Hair of the Hog» affectionately for a reason. I treated my fellow co-workers to these little brownie bites and found my working environment an absolute peach for the rest of the day. Seriously, spend the $ 2 and get a brownie. Even if it becomes your 3pm nibble, you’ll love it. My next nosh of the menu is going to be the Porker: Double smoked bacon, sausage & bacon stuffing with sage & apple, goat Gouda, greens, apple & cider chutney. Doesn’t that sound AMAZING! If I can ever pull myself away from the blue cheese that is. Happy Nibbles!

After many failed attempts to try Pig on the Street on Food Truck Mondays(namely because it was closed, well, on Mondays), I managed to come here for a quick lunch with my colleagues. Unlike most of the other food trucks in Vancouver, this one is what some might call a more«legit» food truck. It’s in a tiny truck, with only two people cooking inside. They actually have someone stand outside to take orders rather than tower above from inside the truck. It’s cute. Betty had the southern piggy($ 10) with double smoked bacon, bourbon BBQ sauce, grilled peppers, roasted corn, farmhouse cheddar, greens, chipotle mayo. She enjoyed it more than her Pig LT that she had last time. Similar to mine, it was inside a hand-crafted whole-wheat blend flatbread — this flatbread is deceiving! It’s actually quite filling. My piggy blues($ 10) was filled with double smoked bacon, grilled mushrooms, creamy mild blue cheese, greens, caramelized onion mayo. The bacon was delicious; it wasn’t necessarily the crispy type since it was thicker but it had a nice texture to it. I enjoyed the mélange of flavours from the blue cheese as well as the caramelized onions. The portobello mushroom was also good since it added a contrasting texture. I was also pleased to find the fillings to be evenly spread throughout the sandwich, especially the arugula! The sandwich here was almost one and a half meals for me. For $ 10, I’d say the sandwiches here are of pretty good value since it had a lot of meat in it(bacon ain’t cheap) and it’s actually quite big.

Who doesn’t love bacon… besides a vegetarian! {2 thumbs pointed at self} Certainly not this girl! Oddly enough when visiting a friend who lives near the Rogers Sugar building I smelled the wonderful aroma of bacon. A strange smell in an industrial area. Parked outside was a funky looking pink VW van. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I was delighted to have the opportunity to sample the delicious eats of this food van at the Waldorf’s food truck fest. I started with dessert for lunch with their AMAZING bourbon caramel bacon brownie bite. Yummm After scouring the rest of the food trucks at the Waldorf I ended up going back for a Southern Piggy. A delicious mix of perfectly cooked double smoked bacon, bourbon BBQ sauce, grilled peppers, roasted corn, farmhouse cheddar, greens, and chipotle mayo all wrapped up nicely in a flatbread. With a quirky twist for picking up your order I chose to be Samwise Hamgee with my little wooden pig! Can’t wait to him them up again.

Well how about this a review for Pig On the Street, by a pig on the street. If I could give this 3.647 stars I would but instead it’s going to have to settle for 3 until I give this place another try. A mobile bacon dispatcher pretty much sums up Pig on the Street, they sell bacon, more bacon and well even more bacon. I’m sure there are other ingredients but who are we kidding, I’m in the business of eating bacon and business is good. I’ve only tried the Porker because it just seemed appropriate for me, a wrap filled with bacon, sausage & bacon stuffing, gouda, greens and chutney. Now the strange part, while I just loved the wrap I could only enjoy the first half is just so rich. I’ve never had my food go from«wow this is awesome» to «I think I’m tired of eating you» then to «are we there yet?» To be fair, it is called the porker for the right reason. I’m going to give these guys another try but next time i’ll try something a little lighter. I never thought I would ever utter those words. I also have to give these guys props for working in that tiny westfalia, there were three of them packed in there cooking up a bacon storm in the summer heat.

I managed to catch these guys at the Canada Day food cart fair at the Waldorf Hotel last Sunday. I got(several) free samples of their bacon bourbon brownies. What a combination. That’s like three of my favorite things in one.

I tried this truck at Unilocal’s Canada Day block party where they were featuring their Bacon Bourbon Caramel Brownie, while I can’t speak for their main course options, if their dessert was any indication this truck is delicious! It was a rich and decadent chocolatey masterpiece topped with my two very favourite food groups(bacon and booze). Can’t wait to come back and try one of their bacon sandwiches!

I went to the Vancouver Block Party out on East Hastings to find some delicious food on Canada Day. This little pink truck, the guy serving through the tiny window, the little piggies used to call you up for your order and the smell of Pork Pork Pork just draws you in. Oh man this wrap was so damn delicious! I chose«The Porker» which had double smoked bacon, sausage stuffing w/apple & sage, goat gouda, caramelised onions, mayo and spinach. Perfect combination of sweet and savory.

Who can resist the aroma of sizzling bacon, wafting through the air — .aside from those freegans and lettuce heads… well, not this guy! And when it’s served out the window of a hot pink Westphalia camper on the side of the art gallery, how can you go wrong?! Magnum PIG, that was me yesterday while waiting for my PIGLT… and likely salivating simultaneously from the smells that were surrounding me. I dove into my wrap, and I’d say the first 10 – 15 bites had me in pure, pork belly ecstasy. The bacon was scrumptious, perfectly done so that it was not soggy and limp, but not overdone to the point where it is a crumbly mess of salt and pig. The greens were dressed very well and the hint of sweetness from the Maple complimented the saltiness of the pig perfectly, and when the whole thing was kissed with the smooth, creaminess of the avocado, it made for one tasty bite. As I endured through the sandwich; endured being the operative word in this sentence, it really started to become less and less appealing. I can’t believe I am even saying this, but I think it was too much bacon for me. By the end, the sandwich was a thin wrap with about 12 strips of bacon forming a ball of pig and salt and I had no desire to finish it. While the truck is awesome, the first 1⁄3 of the sandwich is delicious and the folks that run the cart are just plain good people, I don’t see myself returning to try the southern piggy, oh well.

If you like bacon, and seriously who doesn’t like bacon, then this is the place for you. The aroma draws you in the food lives up to the smell. My visit came later in the day and a few of the items were sold out so I settled the Piggy Blues. As you would hope, the bacon was the star of the show, crispy, delicious and plentiful, but the rest of the cast, the blue cheese sauce, mushrooms and greens, all played an integral part of the sandwich and came together wonderfully. The flat bread was toasted nicely and made a great packaging without taking away from the rest of the ingredients. I also had to have one of the bacon, bourbon brownie bites. The bite was a decadent, gooey and very tasty but my one complaint would be that the bourbon overpowered the bacon. Too much booze? This is probably the only time I’ll say that and I apologize. For great bacony goodness the Pig On The Street is a must try. My mouth is actually watering as I write this!

This isn’t one of your weight watcher wraps, it’s on steroids! I barely finished my sandwich and it was bacon-licious! The«Piggy Blue» was however, a bit too salty for me but I have a feeling it was because of the bacon and blue cheese combination. The arugula and portebello inside the sandwich helped even it out a bit, but it was still a bit too much for me. In the future, I will be back, but will try something else. Note: Don’t wait too long to eat the sandwich because it gets soggy(that’s what happened with mine)

I feel that first off I need to confess that I love bacon… but not in that intense unwavering way that most people do. As a self-proclaimed ‘flexitarian’(aka more herbivore than carnivore) who is not a fan of most pork products, I’m very particular(read: picky) with how I like my bacon. For me it has to be well done — like practically fried to a crisp. Perhaps a travesty to most bacon lovers, I know. So, I went for the Southern Piggy; my friend, the Pig LT. Naturally I asked for well done bacon… and I was pleasantly surprised that the bacon was crisp, but still tender, and not overcooked(which I would’ve been ok with). You can tell that they use fresh, good quality meat. You can even bite through the pieces without that annoying thing happening where you can’t quite chew through it and you end up pulling the whole piece out, bite after rubbery bite, or getting your fingers all up in there. The wrap itself was also very fresh and delicious. Must be that extra bacon fat they put in it. It was also the perfect thickness — thick enough to contain its saucy contents, but thin enough that you don’t feel like you’re just eating dough. The Pig LT wrap was nicely balanced and fresh tasting. The Southern Piggy was flavourful and the BBQ sauce was excellent, with a bit of a kick. The only thing was that there was way way way too much sauce. The last third of my wrap was like soup and I couldn’t get through it. We also tried the bourbon bacon caramel brownie, which was actually a big part of the reason I wanted to try this truck. I have to say it was very disappointing. It was so gooey and hard to eat, let alone share. The brownie itself tasted like uncooked dough, it was quite odd actually. As for flavour, it was so unbelievable sweet that I could barely eat even half of it. Too bad, it had so much potential. I gave this place 4 stars because I love that they use local and ethical pork, and you can really taste the difference the quality makes. These guys seem nice and I love the little comically-named pigs they give you to call your order. I chose Notorious P.I.G. Obviously. Would I go back? Yes. The Pig LT was worth the trip. And believe it or not but I really want to try the No Piggy.
