mediocre taste. small portion. bad service. I tried Oishi Roll here. When I tried to ask something to one of the employees, she snatched the menu off of my hands. Very rude. I didn’t even expect much anyway, but it’s surprising how they could unimpress a customer in such short time.

3.5 best lunch spot in the area(if you can get a table), service is fast and the food is faster, order the 11.50 lunch special lots of options and portions are big. Don’t go expecting fancy food, I’ve never had any thing taste bad and I am here 3 times a week, I pride myself on knowing what good Japanese food is and this is just fine for being a Chinese owned and operated take on Vancouver sushi. Also some people said service is rude, it’s not it’s just efficient because of the hospital staff that take their lunches there.

I stumbled across this place when the previous 2 choices I had in mind for dinner were closed, and oh boy, was this quite the discovery. I walked in and it was somewhat quite, I looked at the reviews on Unilocal before stepping in, things looked fine, so here I was. While I was here, I had the Sashimi set, which came with salmon and tuna(?) sashimi, along with some spicy tuna rolls. This place is great for people that love sashimi, they provide thick slices of sashimi, ensuring that you get to enjoy the texture and the flavour of the fish, their spicy tuna rolls were also very tasty, they seem to just have the right amount of tabasco in each of them, I appreciate how they put in bits of tempura batter into the roll to add to the texture! While I agree that service wasn’t superb, it was adequate. Staff were attentive and the service was quite speedy(I suppose that has to be the case when you have 6 chefs squeezed into the kitchen preparing food that few customers.) Portions were generous and prices were good, so I think I might come again.

Delicious lunch! I love the box, although that’s too much for me.

Oaska sushi is located on King Ed & Oak Street, they are very busy during dinner time. When we walked in, I knew I made another mistake. Coz I saw the sticker of «order it» and«just eat» service. It means they do a lot of take out sushi and probably not in good quality/fresh of ingredients! My hubby and me spent time to check out the menu item and found most of prices for rolls very cheap. Also, we saw the other table dishes portion pretty generous. We really had doubt to order any sashimi or raw fish sushi. I ordered few nigiri, none of it was fresh! The saba tasted bad and scallop smelled fishy too! The roll had too much salad dressing and tasted pretty warm. I definitely not going back for warm sushi or not fresh raw fish.

This was my first time here. I ordered take out on my way home. Service was ok. The food was prompt. It tasted good. Got the sushi/sashimi combo. And real crab cali roll. I couldn’t really taste the crab when eaten with the rice and seaweed. I would come here again. It has better hours than the one closest to me.

I’ve been here probably over 1 million times. I usually order one of their specialty rolls because they are all super good. Specifically the sunset roll. Their sashimi slices are huge and delish. Service is prompt and they never screw my order up. Huge bang for buck as well as quality. The restaurant is very nice as well. Check this place out! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Love the sashimi here — fresh and thick cut! The rolls here are also well made and there’s a good variety to choose from. Service is fast. Have more often ordered take out here. I only wished they opened late night :)

salmon sashimi nigiri, look at the size of it, great value. they deliver to DT. Still the same good service, and speak fluent English.

We are regulars at Osaka sushi and it’s easy to explain why– reasonable prices and huge portions of good sushi. I always get the spicy California roll which is always covered with their delicious spicy sauce. The boxes are great and you can almost never finish them since they are huge!

The sushi is decent, considering the location, which is within walking distance to two hospitals. The menu is varied and thus provides a lot of options for guests. I find the quality of the sushi to be average at best. The restaurant itself is decently clean, but the close proximity of the tables and chairs makes moving in the restaurant tough at times.

This place is pretty good. Ordered the hamachi and salmon sashimi and both were incredibly fresh. They also had a really great portion size for the sashimi. I was really impressed. Also ordered the super salmon roll. Quite good as well. Girlfriend ordered the chicken yakisoba and it was huge.

We had a wonderful experience here. Super fresh sushi and rolls. Very affordable. Friendly staff. Safeway in the same plaza give 10% off coupons. No delivery but carry out is an option.

This is a good place if you would like a quick bite to eat and you’re not too picky about the quality of the sushi. I would say it’s inexpensive and decent. Lunch time has a great deal but can be quite busy. I would come at 11:00am for an early lunch or later in the afternoon to avoid the rowdy lunch crowd at noon to one

Overall pretty decent sushi. I found the portion size decent as well. Quite fast delivery of the order after it was taken. Very very attentive waitresses. Tea was always full. They got my order slightly wrong once but it was a great dish anyway. Best thing about this place is the easy parking. Most restaurants in Vancouver have idiotic or just plain non existent parking. But this place is in the Safeway parking lot and parking is usually a breeze. I would eat sushi here again anyway.

Not bad if you are starving and in a hurry to wolf down a quick lunch. The food is decent for typical Chinese mandarin speaking run sushi joint. Big portions and a great lunch special deal — 3 items for $ 9.95(they upped the price by a buck).

Make long story short. Got me the wrong food 2 items, didnt change the bill and charged full price. Waiters are very desorganized. The food was okay but after so much disappointment is hard to savour the food. Avoid going there because there are better places in the area and less expensive too.

The sushi was mediocre… There wasn’t anything special about the tuna roll I ordered, but the one thing that bothers me is how the server doesn’t pay attention to you. I went on a different occasion and ordered a sushi roll, she then stated I had to pay extra charge because it was under 5 $, so I said«ok, I’ll add an udon soup as well» She verified my order and I paid… My order came and there was no sushi… I asked her where my sushi was, she said I didn’t order it! What!!! She verified my order but didn’t own up to her mistake not punching it in… I don’t think she was paying attention to other customers too, because when I was waiting for my order, another lady came up to the counter and said her order was also wrong. Ok food, bad service. I’m not sure if I’ll give this place another chance. I might even end up paying more for a half eaten sushi meal…

A cute little hole in the wall sushi place :) near Safeway and Shell gas. The place isn’t huge, but it feels spacious. I was surprise that there were lots of people inside. The menu is quite extensive. They have appetizers, sunomono, tempura, teriyaki, donburi, chirashi, sashimi, nigiri sushi, roll sushi, udon and ramen. They also have bento box specials and party trays. Bonus that they have a variety of Chef’s special rolls. I like that they also have a lunch special where you can pick 3 items out of 36 for $ 8.95 and this includes miso soup. The price is reasonable too. Oh, did I mention that you can do take out? I definitely grabbed a menu :)
