Very loud especially on a Friday or Saturday night. Chicken is quite tasty. Though, probably the best Korean chicken in Vancouver, it doesn’t even compare to what I tried while in Korea. Still looking for something comparable

We decided to give Olé Wings and Tapas a try although the drinks didn’t have any deals going on. It’s pretty hidden since it’s upstairs, but by dinner time, the place was filled with rowdy Koreans playing games while drinking. They have a variety of chicken items and we decided to share the Spicy Soy Boneless Chicken. This was actually a very large plate and we could barely finish it! The batter is very crispy and if you like your chicken with sauce, this is great. At first bite, it was quite spicy, but as you ate it along with the beer, it was actually quite bearable. I think it was a much better deal than Zabu Chicken. We also got an order of Seafood Pancake, but I was quite disappointed with this. It wasn’t very crispy and there wasn’t a lot seafood in it. I’d suggest sticking with their chicken here. Overall, I was quite satisfied with Olé Wings and Tapas. A good choice among the Korean restaurants in this stretch if you want chicken and beer. Pitchers run at around $ 15 which is around the same as most restaurants, but I found that the value of the chicken was pretty good since we only needed to order one plate for the three of us. You also get free pickled daikon since it pairs well with spicy food. Service was also quite friendly and attentive even though we were probably the only non-Koreans dining there. Pros: — Prices are reasonable for the amount of chicken you get — Crispy chicken and variety of sauces to choose from Cons: — Food other than chicken appears to be just average — Can get very loud at night

Came in for dinner on a Friday night and the place was packed. We had to wait about 15 minutes to get a table which wasn’t too bad. Ordered the chicken(half garlic soy and half spicy) and the kimchi pork and tofu soup. The chicken was really quite good. Fried to a nice crunch and the sauce was real flavourful. Definitely worth trying. The kimchi soup was good but I’ve definitely had better. Service was food for how busy it was. If come back for some more KFC.

From the sign and the name, you wouldn’t think this was a KFC(Korean Fried Chicken) /Korean drinking place. Good chicken, not so good service(expect Asian style = wave down your server for anything and everything is a requirement). We tried the cheesy, spicy boneless chicken with rice cake — very filling, comforting, and heavy… basically everything you’d expect when ordering this. Eat this with alcohol and it feels even better. Don’t eat this if you’re on a diet. BB Pacha makes a similar dish a couple blocks down with better service… sorry Olé :(

Yaay I really like this place! I like to order flavoured soju(blueberry is my favourite) and original boneless chicken:) It’s really good ohh and of course some Japanese beer like Sapporo. It’s very loud but it’s part of the deal! Come with your friends and have fun!

The beer made the chicken taste so much better. To be honest, the food was sub-standard and there are tastier places elsewhere. I still had a lot of fun chilling and chatting with my friends, though. Also, the service was surprisingly good. I never had an empty glass of water(and I was constantly drinking it). If you want to just grab a few drinks and chat, Olé isn’t a bad place to go – they close around midnight and even later on the weekends.

I am a self-acclaimed expert of KFC(«Korean Fried Chicken») and honestly, I think I tasted the worst fried chicken of my life at this place. The service was quite fast and the servers were very nice, so kudos to them. However, I was so disappointed with the way they fried the chicken. The meat was cut too small and the breading and the temperature they used for the chicken made the meat taste like chinese style dry ribs. There was no juicy meat to be found blanked in nicely seasoned golden crispy skin. That’s what makes korean style fried chicken so wonderful! Unfortunately, it definitely missed the mark for me. It seems to have good seatings for a bigger group of people, so it is nice to have another korean style drinking place for soju and beer. I would not recommend this place for fried chicken dish alone though.

So, I went back several times. but haven’t been back since the last visit Why? Burnt nachos. They brought out the nachos, and apologized. but still served us the nachos, and charged us for the nachos… wtf? Not only that, we ordered the soondae dish. which had more rice cakes/veggies than soondae(sausage).so we simply asked for extra order of the soondae(only the sausage) They charged us for two soondae dishes Needless to say we haven’t been back

olé’? hmmm, kinda weird for a korean chicken joint to be named olé’ but whatever. if it’s good then it’s good. this was not that good. it was very ok, however. i likes me some fried chicken of any kind usually but especially fried chicken WINGS. we stopped in here because somebody in the posse(from vancouver) suggested it. i would have never found it otherwise. sure there’s a sign outside that says«olé’» but this is in a section of robson where there’s HELLA signs and there wasn’t enough about this place to make it stand out. we walked up the stairs to find a place jammin’ with koreans of all ages. that’s usually a good sign. what’s not a good sign is a korean chicken place that doesn’t serve any korean beers. haha. is that weird? to me it is. part of our troop was korean so i deferred the ordering to them assuming they were the experts. no idea what exactly was ordered but i’ll list what i think i ate and drank: some kind of seafood fried rice — this was nice. i think i liked this the most some kind of spicy korean seafood soup — second most nice. i liked this too a couple kinds of boneless fried chicken: saucy, different kinda saucy, nekkid — i didn’t like any of the sauced up chicken and liked the nekkid fried chicken even less. d’oh! sapporro soju yogurt soju for some reason, nobody ordered wings…:sad panda: it happened to be one of the girls in the group’s bday so they hooked it up with some creamed corn on a skillet and some fried prawn salad. i didn’t partake of any of that because drinking. initially, i was going to give this place only 2 stars(for the food) but the service was pretty good despite how busy it was, how drunk these ugly americans was, and how large our group was. i’ve waited tables before and i know it can be rough so plus one star for extra credit.

A lot of my friends have said great things about them so I decided to give it a try with 3 of my friends. And boy, I loved it! It reminded me of the HOF bars and chicken places in Korea! It was pretty nostalgic. We ordered the original drumsticks and yangnyum wings, along with some beer of course. The chicken had a very flavourful and crunchy coating, while the meat was very tender and juicy. The contrast between the two textures was amazing! The seasoning was on spot– not too strong and not too bland. Loved it. The yangnyum was just as great. The sauce really reminded me of the yangnyum chicken in Korea so, props to the Olé Wings chefs. Overall, great dining experience. The staff was very kind and the food came out pretty quick for a packed place. I am definitely going to be returning soon with more friends! And I will definitely recommend it to everyone I know!

Great chicken, great service, fun atmosphere. The prices are quite reasonable for such delicious and fresh chicken, in my opinion! And even if you do find the prices a little high, it’s seriously worth the money. Anyways, the chicken. It’s great and really reflects the flavours of Korean styled chicken. It’s much better than places like Zabu chicken, which is disgusting if you ask me. The flavours really pop out at you and it’s amazing! I can’t say much more, other than, go try it for yourself! You won’t regret it! Best chicken ever, hands down! I loved it, and so did my friends. Will be back soon.

Myself and 5 other friends decided to try olé as we heard good things about them. But what a disappointment! I had a horrible experience and never will recommend this restaurant to anyone around me. We orders half half chicken and there speical(jjam bong tang and squid ggan poon gi) we got our squid dish after a reasonable wait. The food was mediocre and it went down hill after our first dish was served. We waited at least 30 mins for jjam bong tang after the squid dish was served. We ordered some rice on the side and it took so long for them to bring it(really how hard is it to scoop a bowl of rice). And we got out chicken an hour after we ordered. Their main thing is chicken and it takes an hour? And it wasn’t even good! Half of the chicken was batter and barely had any meat on it. One of my friend had serve our side dishes because they kept forgetting and the best part! We finished and split the bill and all paid our portion. Even though there service and our overall experience was horrible we still decided to give tip. But as we were leaving the waitress calls one of us and says we didn’t pay the full bill. I had to add up all the receipts for her and explain to her my calculation. Really? REALLY?! That just put me over the edge. I was ready to leave without complaining but I couldn’t. this was just unacceptable. So my point is don’t go. There’s plenty of better restaurant on robson. This is one place u do my want to go. They don’t even deserve a star. I rate 0⁄5 stars.
