This place does«good» hair but the service is HORRIBLE. Do not come here! The ladies who colour your hair will tug and pull it during the whole process. They have no interest in the condition of your hair. They will use the highest level of peroxide on your hair and don’t even care if it breaks off. They only want to make quick money. Also when they wash your hair, they will dig their nails into your scalp and scratch the living hell out of you. Another thing I’ve noticed, they will talk shit about you in Vietnamese if they know you don’t speak their language. Never returning to this unprofessional salon.

I’ve been to many different nail salons which are overpriced in Richmond(minimum $ 80+ each visit plus tips). However, my sister told me about this place and recommended that I get my nails done with Moon. At first I was hesitant cause the storefront was attached to a hair salon and the nail salon was not as fancy as other places I’ve seen or been to. BUT… I was amazed with the level of customer service, efficiency, the end results and the price! For the price of a manicure with shellac nails, it only cost me $ 25! I was stunned and would definitely always tip more for their service… I’m very happy with my nails each time I go. What I love is that they’re gentle when cutting your cuticles or filing your nails. Also, when you’re asking them to put on an extra layer of nail polish or fix the shape of your nails, they are really nice about it unlike some other places! This is my go to place now :)

Honestly no one does colour corrections better than this place. Sarah is quick and she knew exactly what I wanted. I have quite a complicated case of professionally coloured dark dark black hair twice… and she was able to bleach it under heat twice and pull out most of the red underneath the black. My roots were nice and ash and my ends were a still tad warm from the red not being able to be completely pulled out. However she blended it nicely and explained to me that it will be a work in progress. I can’t wait till my next visit!!! I absolutely am so impressed with how she was able to do my colour so quickly and how she was able to tackle my hair … a lot of stylists have a fear of working my asian hair.

HORRIBLE. Sarah’s customer service is absolutely absurd. I’m writing this review on behalf of my friend cause she doesn’t have Unilocal. She got her hair done by Sarah about a week or so ago. And the colour in the front turned out good but in the back it was some messed up colour OTHER than ash brown also it was very damaged. Therefore my friend tried to call Sarah MULTIPLE times and never once did she pick up. Until today. Sarah told her that if she wanted to fix it she would have to pay since its been so long. First you don’t pick up your phone calls, then she would have to pay for something Sarah messed up?! That is not right. If you messed up your clients hair, it is your responsibility to fix it. But clearly Sarah is just about the money. She just gave the pay or I can’t fix it or do anything about it. NOTETOEVERYONE … Don’t go here.

This place is hands down the best salon to get the best results for your hair; I freaking love my hair!!! My friend recommended me to go here because she went here and has fabulous hair! My hair was so great that my friends wanted me to take them to get their hair done which I did and they too, love their hair! Although this salon ensures great results, it is very ghetto and was a bit intimidating at first. The colourist is very nice, she was able to give me what I wanted done to my hair and even gave great advice and tips! She is very efficient at her job. I dont recommend wearing nice clothes to this salon because when she is colouring your hair, prepare for some dye to splatter all over. Also, they usually make you take off your sweater or cardigan if you are wearing one, unless you are cold it’s an exception. I also love my cut! She is so wonderful! The hair washing experience, prepare for the roughest hair wash ever and water to get in your ears! They dont really take appointments, however, you can call ahead and let them know you will be coming in because this place gets SUPER busy. Perk! They also have a nail salon attached to the side which does great nails for cheap and they have so many colours to choose from! I recommend the shellac!!! All the people who work here are really nice and actually dont talk smack about you. I definitely recommend this salon!

It’s my second time visiting Ngoc Nga, this time I needed to strip out dark brown dye to give the hair a uniform medium ash brown shade. I went on a Monday about 1pm and it was so busy I was literally one of the few who managed to get their hair done. Because it was busy I decided to get Shellac nails(only $ 15 for color!). Moon was quiet, but was fast and professional. I would definitely recommend her. For haircolour, it took about 1hr30minutes. I didn’t expect her to take too much time apply bleach to my hair because she was dying three other clients hair. There wasn’t too much hair tugging compared to my last visit(most likely because I cut off most of my hair to a bob). I loved the end result hair although it’s not exactly what I pictured. She curled my hair as well. For short hair, full head bleach and tone is $ 110. Longer hair will be $ 10++ for product. I truely believe that only Vietnamese salons can achieve a nice ash brown/blond color for an affordable price! Definitely will come again for highlights soon! PS all the ladies there are very bubbly ;)

15 for shellac colour change and previous colour was soaked off not sand blasted off with the scary machine some salons use. And 25 for a regular pedicure with massage chair. No frills but exactly what I’ve been searching for.

I came here to get my hair dyed and it turned out fabulous! These ladies who work here know exactly what they are doing and whatever color you want they can do it! I really like one of the girls there I forgot her name but shes the youngest one looking and shes always on point! I would definitely point her out to do my hair next time i go get my hair done again. Its really hard for a girl to keep going to a certain salon to get her hair right on but i would really recommend this salon as they are pretty good. But some down falls i have are, one lady there when she washes my hair she pulls soo hard that it hurts! Second, if you book an appointment theyre usually not on time because a lot of people get theirs done and the hair dressers are kind of rude sometimes. And third, im not the first to say this but they are vietnamese and i dont understand them but i know they talking about me. Its so obvious. Typical vietnamese salons, whats different?! Lol

I came back to fix my hair after having my hair dyed the wrong color by a Chinese hair salon on Victoria Dr. Yeah, never again. Long story short, I had almost black hair and after 3 weeks, I decided it was time to fix it. I came back to Ngoc & Nga and received the same service as I did when I had first came. I walked out with that great shade of ash blonde and wonderful nails. It was still only $ 15 for the shellac nails and she would not accept a tip. She gave me and my friend each a set of cuticle oil and nail file for free. The review gets a +1 star because she was so sweet and really enhanced my experience here. The store was busy as usual but I didn’t feel so rushed this time. Albeit my hair does feel more damaged, I expected this since I had just turned brunette 3 weeks prior.

I agree with Amanda N. above. Her review is on point. I went there a few days ago to get my hair dyed light ash brown. All of my girl friends that went there told me that they were the best«nammer» place for ash. But I was warned by all of them. They said they are messy as hell and it was soooo true!!! I had bleach and hair dye all on and inside my ear and all over my forehead! Good thing I went there with no make-up(I live a few blocks away anyway). They put Vaseline on your forehead, neck and ear before doing anything to you so the dye doesn’t stain on your skin. I got it done by Nga. I think she was the main colorist as Amanda said. Ngoc mainly did haircuts. Only thing I didn’t think was right during the process was when she didn’t leave the bleach on for long. The longest was probably 20−30mins but turned out yellow, close to bright orange. Best way to get the right ash is WHITE/pale yellow blonde. Wish she at least added more bleach over the bleach that was all ready on and leave it on for another 20−30mins. I’m worried that once it fades, it’ll turn brassy orange. Most of my ash fades into more golden which is fine(due to the pale yellow bleach)…but I don’t want ORANGE. Anyway, the outcome was still pretty nice. It was the ash I wanted. It looked Medium Ash Brown in the salon but is actually light ash brown/dark ash blonde. Love!

I noticed one of the nurses I worked with always had beautifully layered hair. She told me that she gets it cut at this Vietnamese parlour along Kingsway. She also informed me it is inexpensive so I was sold! Upon arriving, granted with the address –I was not expecting the Four Seasons… but I was still a bit apprehensive with regards to the exterior… When I walked in however, the mostly Vietnamese staff had these long shiny layered hairstyles that immediately assured me I was in the right place. Ngoc and Nga are two friends who own the place, do the haircuts. They’re very pretty and accommodating. Ngoc cut my hair and she did an awesome job! I was a bit hesitant to have 4 inches chopped off… However, when I saw the results, I knew I made the right decision. I was charged 20 or 25cdn(Sorry, don’t remember); left a 5 cdn tip. Highly recommended. Minus one star for the location(hope I dont sound like a snob but it was a bit ghetto and scary outside).
