It’s a cruel, cruel world. I am crushed that I will never get to experience the joys of Milwaukee Market’s frozen custard again. I will go to Culver’s in your honor. Rest in peace dear friend.

I am not a frozen food aficionado. In other words, I am not in love with ice cream and its evil spawn: Gelato and frozen custard. However, this was pretty good. I got vanilla and my girlfriend got chocolate. If you want to really taste the difference between frozen custard and ice cream, you’ve got to get vanilla. Although I’m not a big ice cream eater, I’m giving this a higher rating than normal because of the staff. The guy behind the counter was so helpful and patient. For that, they get the higher rating.

My life is ruined. I need frozen custard everyday. I’ve gone every day since I first tasted it(on Saturday I even went twice) and yesterday I bought a container of it to take home… send me to rehab… delicious delicious frozen-custard-filled rehab… I’d say stick with a flavour like vanilla, banana, pistachio, etc– soft flavours that don’t hide the custard taste. I find the chocolate flavour hides it too much… still good, but not as ‘wow’… **** Advice though– Get your custard naked! :) Do not get the chocolate sauce or sprinkles… or any sauce for that matter. The sauces overpower the flavour of the über incredible custard. At the very most, with fruit, b/c that won’t drench the custard… hahaha don’t I sound like a crazy addicted person. I am!!! ;) Frozen custard is the best thing ever. Henry, the owner is a sweetheart and always makes us feel right at home… and it practically is a second home, we eat there so often. Gosh! Best flavours: VANILLA Pistachio Orange Cream

I had never had frozen custard before but I my friend told me I had to try it and I’m so glad I did. Here’s the deal with frozen custard: its more dense than ice cream because ice cream is full of air and egg makes it creamier, smoother and softer. It’s also served at a bit warmer temperature than ice cream… all in all heavenly!

Went to school in Wisconsin so custard definitely has a soft(and tasty) spot in my heart. I was bumbling around the neighborhood one day and when I saw this place I immediately stopped in for a treat. The owner was friendly and helpful but most interestingly, super excited about selling custard. You can tell he loves what he’s doing. And it shows! The custard is delish! Creamy, fresh, flavorful. Will try to avoid this place(so that my jeans fit) but don’t think I’ll be too successful :).

The guy working the counter was extremely nice. We chatted for a bit, I told him I’d heard good things about them, especially the custard, and he gave me a free taste test of that and the pecan pie(which were both amazing!) It’s more of a cafeteria feel than a café feel, but they do have a couple couches and free wifi, so it’s a decent place to chill out for a while.

I really wasn’t as impressed with this place as I thought I’d be — based on the fantastic Unilocal reviews. The custard was okay — but certainly not spectacular. The real problem was that I ordered a burger — which shouldn’t be too complicated — and it was served, after 15 minutes, still half frozen and bright pink all the way through. The fries with it were terrible, undercooked McCain fries. I understand custard is the specialty but wow… Also, the complete lack of any atmosphere — other than a flourescent cafeteria feel — is a let down.

Post-lunch purple yam frozen custard, served by the sweet and smiling lady behind the counter, with a drizzle of chocolate syrup on top? Yes, please! So unexpectedly good, this is a must try, if only to confirm that purple yam and frozen custard do belong in the same sentence.

Having visited and lived near the actual Milwaukee Wisconsin for a portion of my life, I can safely say this is as close as it gets to Wisconsin custard. DELICIOUS! I believe it is a family run chain, so you get the service that makes you want to come back. I do have one gripe however, the price. I found myself shelling out 4.50 for a simple little bowl of ice cream with some sprinkles on top. I don’t know if that’s the norm, but I felt I was overpaying for what I received. That aside, this place is great!

I’m actually more of a fan of the creaminess that is ice cream, but I wouldn’t mind some frozen custard every now. I like how aside from the typical flavors like vanilla, they also fuse Filipino flavors like pineapple or purple yam. Ube/purple yam was my favorite ice cream flavor during my childhood, so when I saw that they offered it in frozen custard form, I had to have it, and I loved it. The people who work here are also very friendly.(Make sure to look me up if you ever visit SF and I’ll take you to all the ice cream joints.) JONASAPPROVED!

Milwaukee Market Creamery just keeps getting better. Their menu has been expanding and the place is fully stocked. They serve food items like burgers as well as cakes. But the real reason to go here is for their sinfulicious custard ice cream. You can’t go wrong with the flavours they concoct. The fruit custard versions have bits of real fruit which makes the eating experience even better. In fact, I can’t decide what to get as they patiently give you one taste test after another. The solution, of course, is half-and-half! Flavours today: Sugar Free White Chocolate Vanilla Purple Yam(Ube) Jackfruit Mango Walnut Spiced Chocolate Service? Need you ask. Warm and friendly. Filipino-style.

* The Japadog of Frozen Desserts * So Japadog became a Vancouver craze by introducing Japanese flavours to the common hot dog: Milwaukee Market Creamery seems to be going the same route by fusing Filipino flavours with a classic Wisconsin frozen custard base — I bet you can’t find these flavours in Milwaukee! The tropical theme continued with this latest visit. Flavours on hand included: — Pineapple — Coconut — Mango — Chocolate coconut The owner said the ube and coconut flavour was quite popular and will definitely be coming back soon. The Mango was amazingly good — with whole pieces of fresh mango sliced into a rich custard base. Delicious! This place is dangerous! I wonder how long until Bourdain blesses it!!!

Ch-ch-ch-ch-chocolate frozen deliciousness with pistachios to top it all off. Feels richer than ice cream, but the owner told me it has less fat(if that’s a selling feature for you). For me, it was the fact that it was so thick it stuck to my spoon, so dense that I could eat half of the mountain of chocolate goodness and not have the other half fall over, or melt in moments. I can’t wait to visit again for the«real deal» custard mix. And I’m not even a custard fan! Bonus points for being the closest dessert place to my pad now. PS. For now bring cash — they’re still in their soft opening afterall :)
