I really like the food here. It’s really good. I went to there with three friends, we wait outside for 25 mins. Finally we came in. After we order what we want… Almost 30 mins later … The fist appetizer was here … I keep taking with my friends because I brought them to here, I want them enjoy the dinner, not be mad with the service. But the food was tooooooooooooo slow ! And no one tell us that our food need to wait, or say sorry to us. After 40 mins later, our food were finally here ! We ate 15 mins then finish all the dishes. My friends were mad … I tell them here are the best veg restaurant in Vancouver, and they believe me, yeah the food are great and We really like the food. But We don’t want to wait that long! I feel so bad to brought them to there and keep them wait soooo long and the service were terrible!

I went to meet on Main yesterday for the second time. The service this time was much faster. I got the mac & cheese burger and it was amazing, so delicious!

I’m not quite cool or young enough to eat here but I have to say, our bunhead french tattooed waiter really was great and I felt welcome. Great service and real comfort food, to the extent where if you weren’t paying attention, you might not know it is a vegetarian restaurant — and that is the way I like it. The burgers are easily as good as meat, just different, awesome bowls, and the fries top my city list… just awesome(kind of an upgraded Whitespot fry). One of the house non-alcoholic drinks was pretty tasty, try them all, i’ve had nothing bad.

Talk about delicious vegetarian food! Love this place for that very reason. Came here around 9 on a Tuesday not busy at all. Mountain burger was tasty with fries and salad! Salad was colourful but lacking in dressing. The burger was topped with chili and surprisingly was not that messy. Flavours were vibrant and excellence! Would love to come back again.

Another meatless Monday! There’s a new feature: «Ish» tacos… wow!!! This was super good. The«ish» is tofu wrapped in nori and deep fried. The nori added an ocean smell and taste to create a fish flavour. Loved the mints and lime in the slaw that topped the taco, too. Really hope this one makes it on to the regular menu ;) Tonight we arrived at 6:30ish, about an hour before our norm, and there was no wait for a table. Service was MUCH better than our last few visits. We were greeted at the door right away with a friendly smile and our foods arrived promptly. A solid 4* for food and service tonight!

Perfect dining experience at this location. I was visiting Vancouver for a work event and thanks to Unilocal, had an amazing dinner here. We started the meal with the Buffalo Chiggin Wings. It was divine. Perfect blend of tangy, savory and a hint of sweetness. The ‘Wings’ were made crispy on the outside and chewy on inside. Wow. I got the Beet Salad which was light and very fresh. I would recommend it for a lunch or light dinner but if you’re hungry or craving something more savory, I highly recommend The Macro(made with local tofu, rice etc). The Macro bowl is a slice of heaven. Never had a more satisfying and healthy meal. Can’t believe everything was Vegan! Our servers were very friendly and made us feel welcome at this neighborhood gem.

Came in on a Saturday long weekend night at around 9:30pm and was pleasantly greeted with lots of empty tables, which meant prompt service unlike the usual lunch hour rush. My fiancée got the house chili to start and waited for the 10pm happy hour to start before getting a pint of wheat ale and their groovy gravy fries. I got their noodle-y thai bowl and a glass of their sparkling lemonade. Oh gosh — I forgot how good their fries are. Their fries may be pricey with their original prices but the amount they give you is well worth it every single time I come. The happy hour price of $ 5 for their groovy gravy fries makes everything taste even better. I was surprised at how good the gravy tasted despite it being cashew gravy … in fact, I wish all my gravy was cashew gravy from now on! My noodle-y thai was nothing to boast about… it just felt like a large bowl of pad-thai minus the authenticity and the correct sauce for it. It was a-ok in terms of noodles; however, it wouldn’t be what I would be ordering the next time I come.

The boyfriend and I went for lunch today. We had the chilli cheese fries and the cauliflower bites which were both super tarty and filling. The house made ginger beer he ordered was really good and I liked that I could get a kombucha with my meal. We also have picked up deliveries from Vegan Supply from both the Main and Gastown locations. The staff are always super prompt and friendly. If I could suggest anything to make this place better it would be a third location on Commercial so we could visit more often!

I would totally go vegan if I could eat here for all my meals hahaha, I am serious! There menu has quite a wide range of options for you to choose from with some catchy names for their dishes. I had there Meet Burger, which included sauteed mushrooms, chipotle mayo and two deliciously crispy onions rings too. I love their onion rings! The patty was vegetarian, and it was my first time having a non-meat patty so my taste buds was a bit confused. The patty to me mainly tasted like mushrooms and something else that I can’t quite figure out, clearly my taste buds skills are not too great yet. Overall it was very filling and I really wanted dessert but would not have been able to finish it, sigh, but oh wells there’s always next time.

I heard about Meet on Main when I was asking around for some awesome Gluten free places in the city that would be perfect for a gastropub/poutine loving/comfort food eater. This place pretty much nailed that on the head. They have so many delicious, indulgent items on the menu. Their selection of burgers and fries are impressive indeed. My GF partner(comfort food connoisseur) had the Angry Burg and really digged the flavour/kick it had. I(an extreme-green veggie lovin’ machine) loved that they offered some healthier options like the stir-fry bowls, hummus, and salads. The Macro bowl was definitely a good choice, with a huge thumbs up to the cashew gravy! Will 100% be back to try more of their menu(like the Nacho Fries and Mac n Cheese!)

Subpar service, average food. The waitress didn’t take my order down properly so I had to wait for an extra 45 minutes to get my food, oh, and in the mean time, she forgot to put in my correct order. The person picked up the phone couldn’t answer my questions Nice décor though

Great food and a fun place to be. Everything taste great and prepared nicely. They also have a bunch of different liquor. On top of all that, nothing is overpriced. Go for: perfectly priced food, flavourful dishes, if you don’t eat meat(or even if you do) Don’t go for: meat, private or quiet seating

Super casual and yummy vegan restaurant! They’ve got tons of great dishes to choose from. Appys, salads, burgers, desserts and more. I usually get one of the bowls, which is full of quinoa, tofu, and tons of veggies. I’ve always received great service here, everyone is really friendly and nice! I just wish that all the tables weren’t so close together, and that they offered a vegan tomato juice! I always crave bloody Mary’s when I’m here…

The hot chiggin things. I want to write them a love song. I want to eat them for every meal. I am already thinking about ordering them as dessert as I order them for my appetizer. HOWDOYOUDOITMEETONMAIN?! Are they imported by a unicorn? MAGICALTREATS. My last visit was on a day that the kitchen was hella behind. 30 minute wait from the time of ordering in a jam packed restaurant with frazzled servers. Shoulder shrug, it happens, and it didn’t ruin our evening. Buuuuut from my reading past reviews, it seems like it might happen more often than not? Get that nonsense under control y’all. Whatever, back to the hot chiggin things. When I get married, they are all I am registering for.

It’s been 3.5 months since my initial review. After my first review, the business owner reached out to me requesting that I reach out to him for feedback. I like giving feedback so I did as the owner asked, sent two emails to their email address and sent a message via Unilocal message, but did not hear back from anyone from Meet on Main. No One. Disappointing. I returned recently not because I wanted to, but because my friend didn’t believe how I experienced such overly salty food at a place where everyone else thought the food was amazing. He was set to prove me wrong. The place was full. There was a wait. My friend ordered the Angry burger. I had one bite to see how the ‘quality’ of my burger was this time around. It was salty, overly slathered with sauce that I tasted nothing but sriracha again, exactly like my first time during Halloween 2015. My friend understood why I never wanted to return — he didn’t want to either. No mac and cheese this time around and I wasn’t brave enough to try any other dishes in the event the kitchen was too busy(aka inconsistent). We went to a neighbouring restaurant to order a good tasting meal instead. I’m sorry, Meet on Main, I tried. I tried reaching out to you. I even re-tried the same burger. But I’m really disappointed that I keep on getting overly sauced and salty Angry burgers from the kitchen. Maybe its my luck that I always visit Meet on Main when its busy and when the kitchen exhibits inconsistent standards. I didn’t want to do this, but 1-star again. I’m sorry. On a brighter note, no waitress gave me nor my friend eye-rolls this time. So improved service for that!

We randomly picked this place last night and I’m so glad we did! Luckily the waiting was short(4 ppl, 9pm on a Saturday) and we got seated right by the window. Being pretty hungry we decided to get the sweet-chili cauliflower to start with before getting to the hard part of deciding what else to get. I went for the Mac n Cheeze Burger. Say what? Mac n cheeze and onion rings on a burger? Yeah right. I HAD to try it! After the first bite I was in heaven! The cauliflowers were to die for. I could have easily just stuffed myself with another couple plates of these but I had a giant burger with a mountain of fries and a side salad coming up! The burger, again, was amazing! The patty almost a bit to «meaty» and the fries I couldn’t even finish. My wife had the Macro Bowl which apparently left some room for my fries. We were all very satisfied with the food(2 vegans, 2 omnivores), the service was great, prices very reasonable and the ambience exactly what we were looking for. I can recommend this place to anyone and will definitely return on my next trip to Vancouver.

Let’s meet on main… Now I don’t usually venture so far up Main but after a long day of antique shopping how bad could a few more city blocks be and on a plus the parking gets cheaper the further you are from city centre. Upon arriving are very friendly server greeted my friend and I sat us in the perfect spot(The Window) as I am an average people watcher this is prime seating real estate for me. We had just finished off some very delicious smoothies so too the appy menu we ventured. We orders the Hummus, Kale Salad with cashew gravy, and the funniest and unpronounceable food for a girl with dyslexia«Chiggin» see photo below. The food came fast and even though this Meat eater wasn’t satisfied in the protein department it was all delicious. It’s a great place for a first date or late lunch and I’d highly recommend getting your hands on some good Ol’ Chiggin Bön Appetit —-Vancity Gypsy

2nd visit was like night and day. Food was delish, service was good. Looks like these guys are fine tuning. Order the«chicken wings» …they were amazing. Previous post below This is a 2.5 Omg I really wanted to come here, have an amazing meal and give this place a high score… but I cannot lie. 1) Food — I ordered the hummus to start, which was really good and I would totally recommend it. I then ordered the Chili which was just ok. First off it was just barely warm. I don’t know, maybe it sat in the back for awhile before coming out but I expected it to be hot. As well, it was sweeter than I’d like chili to be. Chili should be savory. Now most likely, I would complain and have it sent back, but I barely ever saw my waitress and we had waited so long, that I was just like screw it… it’s edible. I also got the raspberry chocolate crumble for dessert, which was good but burnt at the top. I mean parts of the crumble were black. The waiter clearly saw it, so I guess, this is acceptable or hipster casual/laid back(don’t complain). 2) So yes, service… was slooooow, slow like molasses man! It took forever to get another drink, it took forever to get anything. We went on a Friday night and it was busy(I overheard the hostess saying it was busier than usual b/c of some articles they had been in) but still. It also took forever to get a seat. Luckily I snagged a seat at the bar, so It was cool. You seriously have to get here at 5pm if you want to get a seat and not wait 30 mins. 3) The staff was very friendly and I really liked the cool ambiance. I got someone new who didn’t know much about the food, so next time I would suggest not to put someone out there on Friday night that can’t answer questions about the unique food offerings. Although it wasn’t the greatest experience, it wasn’t the worst. I would go back and give this place another shot, with some different food. I don’t recommend the chili… lol…and send the food back if you aren’t satisfied… busy or not… don’t p*ssy out like me. haha.

We all know the dynamics of vegan/gluten free restaurant eating. Some places have food that rates repeat noshing, others have dishes that taste like dirt. I was eager to see what category this establishment fell into. Accompanying me was a friend who has dietary restrictions involving dairy and gluten. We were ever so pleased with our entrees. Our server was helpful and knowledgeable — suggesting that we get the garlic fries with a side of cashew gravy. Who knew!?! Cashew gravy could easily sub in my future comfort food repertoire! We also shared a Stroganoff comprised of gluten free pasta, portobello mushrooms and(drumroll) coconut bacon. Yeehaw! Not only did we not feel deprived by the ‘alternative ingredients’; we were experiencing creativity borne of luxurious flavours. We were heading to a pub after, so I sprang for a root beer. Mmmm, I am now a fan of hand-crafted Phillip’s. Caramel hued and tastebud-influenced, it was similar to a nice ale. Much like Dicken’s take on England of Old, the deserts were both: the best and worst of times. The double chocolate cake was the only dish that felt contrived for health benefits. It was exceedingly dry and most of the chocolate flavour was found in the central icing. However, the ganache chocolate torte is a revelation. Coconut crust with silky innards and toasted coconut on top. Mmmm. Please Sir, may I have another!?! Can’t wait to return and try more offerings & see what local art is next on display.

With its cool hipstery vibe and vegan food offerings, I would say Meet on Main is a worthy vegan joint. On my recent trip to Vancouver, I ran into the problem of seeing the many options available on Unilocal but not being able to sift through any because very few of my friends had come here. Fortunately, Meet on Main was one of the higher rated restaurants near the place I was staying so it was a relatively easy decision. The minute you walk in, you are invited to a colorful and welcoming place with walls lined with funky art and neat light installations hung from the ceiling. For a Sunday night, it seemed pretty busy! Luckily, my friend and I were able to get seated fairly quickly. Here are some of the things I tried: Sweet Chili Cauliflower: The tagline mentions how addictive they could be and they certainly are pretty damn good! When it comes, you see three big heads of cauliflower fried to a nice crisp glazed with a nice sweet and spicy sauce and topped with chives. The sauce is definitely what makes this dish work. I was slightly disappointed though with the quality of the frying on one of the pieces as pieces of the flour was present as I bit into it leaving me to believe they either didn’t batter or didn’t deep fry the cauliflower properly. However, still would recommend! The Macro Bowl: While a good tasting combination of flavors and textures, it was just okay. With this dish, you get the marinated tofu mixed with mung beans, kale, and spinach into the brown rice all pulled together by the cashew gravy which was surprisingly tasty. My favorite part of the dish was that the tofu slices tasted like it had a little flavor and heat because often times, tofu is rarely utilized as a flavor profile. Unfortunately, the slices were on the small side. In fact, the amount of everything was a little too small to make a solid impression. The service was generally okay. My main complaint was that there was quite a long delay between the appetizer and the entrée. Yet, the servers were attentive and made an effort to make sure that our water was always full. Most of the parking closest to the restaurant is metered, but if you go down Main a few more blocks, there are some spots that are free for two hours. Overall, I would recommend Meet on Main especially if you are looking for good vegan food in Vancouver.
