Been here a few times and it carries kitchen stuff just like any other store that I’ve been to. The last time I was hear I bought some apple sweaters(to keep apples from bruising). Prices are very reasonable but the selection is hit and miss due to the size of the store.

I’m addicted to these kitchen stores, full of gadgets, this one more so than Ming Wo. Granted, no dishware here but I digress. Nor is there a focus on appliances. Carry lots of European brands, as well as Canadian. No big names like Kitchen Aid but Le Cruset kettles can be found. Aprons, teapots, containers, pans, skillets. and fancy serving spoons. Garlic and banana slicers for $ 15?! Fun… Obviously it is pricier, part of the Granville Island experience. AMEX good.

it’s not about the size, it’s all about the selection! this store has a fantastic selection of everything that you could possibly want for a kitchen. shopping, prepping, cooking, grilling, baking, storage, drinks and more. cool and colourful, functional stuff that you’d actually use. I’ve shopped at cooking stores all over the world, and this place is the best. I am so lucky to live nearby :) every time I visit, there’s always something new and fresh, fun and appealing.

I was struck by the same thing as Nadine when entering this store — froot gards? Banana cases? Geez. A plastic case so your fruit doesn’t get bruised. I shake my weary head. Otherwise this tiny space is filled with all the gadetry you might need for preparing the food you may have bought just across the street at the market. They have those cute stoneware baking dishes in different colours, as well as a few pretty things for the table. There’s nothing here you probably wouldn’t find at Ming Wo or Cookworks or a department store, but it’s a nice place to shop for a zester or peeler or anything you might need at the last minute. Granville Island surely attracts many gourmet home cooks who’ll like the toys and shiny things found here in this cozy shop.

Market Kitchen carries all kinds of things you never knew that you needed for your kitchen like cherry pitters and banana guards. What are banana guards? See the photo that I uploaded. It’s a case for your banana. They also carry«froot guards,» which are made in Vancouver. They are perfect for people like me who hate bruised fruit.
