I don’t have any experience with food deliveries from this place, which seems to be the primary service people are dissatisfied with based on these reviews. Being a former employee at the YMCA, where Licious is located, I often purchased snacks or meals from here on my breaks. They offer a wide array of healthy choices; from soups and salads to sandwiches and entrees to snacks and desserts, you have plenty of options. And it’s all tasty too! My personal favourites are the vegan peanut butter banana chocolate cookie(say that five times fast), the tofu with rice noodles, and as of late the chocolate raspberry chia pudding. It has upgraded a lot since I’ve left, in both presentation of products, and the products themselves. They’ve introduced some new items that I feel were lacking before, like yogurts/parfaits — snacks that weren’t cookies or loaves. Licious never ceased — and occasionally still does when I’m in the area — to take my money. The prices are a little dear, but their products consist of natural/organic ingredients, so it’s understandable that the pricing is higher. The quality of the products is worth the price in my opinion. As for service, I love the people who work there! They’re friendly and engaging and brightened my day when I worked there. A nice little spot for members of the Y or people who work in the area. Even if you are neither of these people, you should still drop by if you’re in the area.

I can’t believe this place doesn’t have more reviews. Well, then again, they are inside a building, the YMCA, so they are not easy to spot. But thanks to Unilocalers I found it. For a full work week I was staying at nearby hotel. Every morning I got a supercharged smoothie to start my day, plus a snack for later. It saved me each day, otherwise my options for a quick breakfast were pastries and such. When starting a demanding workday, white flour and sugar for breakfast, doesn’t work with my body and productivity level — call me crazy. So THANKYOU Licious Living Café for your healthy smoothies and other healthy options. Keep up the good work!

Christmas 2012 the employees of our company purchased a gift certificate for the owner as he and his wife had a new baby, they didn’t use it and the owner decided to use it for an office function. We had a luncheon, one of the guests was a chef who said that they were not impressed by the taste of the food although the presentation was nice. We decided to have another luncheon and contacted Tara to place another order, she informed us that the gift certificate had expired 2 weeks prior and they would not honor it. Instead they suggested they would give us a discount off future orders. Our belief is that in 2008 there was legislation that did not allow for gift cards to expire. Tara informed us that she contacted Consumer Protection– she said in her email to us «I did have a chance to speak with Consumer Protection and what the legislation is. If a card offers a specific service(ie meal delivery) rather than a generic gift card for all services it is allowed to have an expiry. As this was for meal delivery it has expired. That said, as it was used for catering, we would be happy to extend 40% off your future orders that will use up the remaining balance of the card($ 108).» I was told when purchasing the gift certificate that we were outside of their delivery area, we are in Delta. When we placed an order we picked it up, I informed her of this yet she kept repeating the same thing. We believe this is really splitting hairs over nothing, we would not recommend their services. Tara would rather keep the $ 108.00 and have this write up about them rather than honor the gift certificate, not a very good business practice!!! Blown away…

NOTE: As of January 3, 2014, I have had to edit this review to remove language where I described my experience with Licious Living, after I received an email from the owner of Licious Living threatening to sue me for defamation for describing my experience with the company here on Unilocal. My edited review is as follows: On 2 occasions my deliveries just didn’t show up. On the first occasion, when I inquired, no explanation was given, just«Sorry about that.» On the second occasion I emailed and was told a driver had gone home the night before because they were sick and that Licious had«wanted to contact the affected clients.» No explanation for why they had not contacted me(this email response was at 4 pm — I had emailed first thing in the morning when my breakfast wasn’t there). On another occasion, breakfast just wasn’t in the cooler. On another day, the foods were not those I had ordered through the system. And yes, I gave plenty of notice for my menu selections. On another occasion, containers in the cooler had opened during delivery and when I opened it there was smushed food everywhere. Now, after the latest incident, I have politely told them to stop delivering and asked for a refund for the three pre-paid weeks I have left. I’ve been told it’s not their«policy» and it’s a «credit» for future services or I can«give them to a friend.» I do not want a credit for services I no longer want and will be escalating this to whoever I need to in order to get my money back, At $ 1200 a month, we’re not talking about a small amount of money owed to me and that is money I now need to cook for myself again. This was supposed to be a convenient service to help me meet my health goals. So far it’s cost me thousands of dollars.

Nutritious & delicious! This place is awesome, I don’t know what that other person was witness to but I spend the majority of my time here lately and I LOVE it. Everything made fresh and in house, you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner WITH calorie counts and nutritional breakdowns! This place is for people who love their bodies.
