At around $ 9 each for the savory crepes, and $ 5 for the sweet, these crepes are definitely priced a lot higher than it takes to make them. However, the fillings are scrumptious, and not skimpy. They have a really good selection of vegetarian options. I can say the ones I had were not too salty, not too greasy. However, we found the sweet butter and sugar lemon crepes too be too sweet — you could see the crystallized sugar bits. Note that the majority of the fillings are locally sourced. The young ladies working there, were very friendly, and handled the long line up pretty well. I would give it a higher rating if the crepes were priced a little lower!

Best crepes ever! We are vegetarians and can only comment on veggie options. I prefer sweet crepes with fruit and my husband likes the savoury buckwheat crepes; La Boheme has something for everyone!

Don’t be completely deterred from crepes, even if you’re probably expecting a chewy thin pancake with minimal ingredients stuffed inside(–cough– Café Crêpe, you’ve always looked a lil flimsy!) La Boheme is totally worth the $ 8.75 you’re going to spend. This little food truck is run by three ladies who assemble the crepes in front of your drool-slothered face. I wanted to try this place after seeing many Farmer’s Market goers holding a STUFFED crêpe. So I joined the long line and passed the time by debating which crêpe I’d like to try. The menu meets anyone and everyone’s fancy, but my trouble always starts with the ultimate question: Do I choose sweet or savoury? Thankfully, La Boheme has a crêpe which satisfies both. The Québécois has cheese, ham, maple syrup and apple compote! It was unique and delicious. However… I wasn’t sure if they had the actual crêpe pre-made, because they basically reheated them before garnishing it with toppings. Also, the Québécois wasn’t plentiful of ingredients like some other crepes I saw for the same price.

Simply based on their nutella and ricotta crêpe, this gets about 784548 stars. It is one of the BEST things I’ve ever eaten(and I really love food). The ricotta adds an amazing texture, and offsets the sweetness of the nutella. Their other crepes are delicious as well. So many fantastic combinations of fillings to choose from. There really is something for everyone. Be prepared to line-up…but trust me, you will not be disappointed.

I wasn’t sure whether I should give this a 4 or a 5 star… It’s a 4.5 for me I think. But seeing as this was my first crêpe here, I think I’ll have to go back again and reassess! Granted, I did eat my crêpe cold. When I got it was pipin’ hot, but I wanted to save it for lunch when I arrived at work(Saturday OT). THESERVICE was great! I loved watching them make the crepes right in front of me, and the ladies seemed happy and very keen to please their customers. I asked for mine without cheese, and the lady making my crêpe offered more tomatoes in replacement of the cheese. I was VERY pleased at this, since this is a rarity anywhere in Vancouver. It seems most places are skimpy when it comes to special requests such as this. Not La Boheme! Your crêpe will be served cheerfully just as you asked. THEFOOD, as I stated above, was cold by the time I got to it(no surprise, I had to trek about a half hour before I could eat it). Although it wasn’t hot like when I received it, the crêpe was plump with all the tasty ingredients shoved in it. Everything tasted lovely and fresh. It was a tad salty from the artichoke hearts, but not overly so. It was also VERY filling, so I’d suggest definitely coming here for a later breakfast– as you’ll be hungry enough to gobble every bit of this monster crêpe up. I gave this 4 stars because I didn’t find the crêpe«OHMAHGAWDTHISISTHEBESTTHINGEVAARR», but it was very good. Next time I think I’ll have the squash one… while it’s still hot! I would recommend this place to anyone though, it seems like it has a nice variety of choices. I didn’t see a disappointed face in sight either, so that’s got to mean something ;)

A magical cart full of deliciousness. I’ve been wanting to try this one for awhile. FINALLY this weekend — all my dreams came true. All the crêpe-filled ones anyway. The cart was so cute. It looked like something you’d see in a movie. The people working inside were interesting to watch. They prepare the food right before your very eyes. The young girl working there looked like Milla Jovovich for anyone who is a fan of her. you can fantasize that a model is making your crepes. As people say– the line up was slow and long… but who cares on a nice sunny day. It just makes the anticipation of tasty food all the more exciting. The only thing that annoyed me was the farmer’s market workers got to go to a secret line up in the back that was shorter. I know they work there. but I couldn’t help feeling jealous. I had the Ali baba crêpe. I asked for non-dairy. So sweet that they have some non dairy crepes all ready to go. And so awesome that it’s gluten free! The lady was super nice — she right away offered that I could substitute something else since I wasn’t having cheese. It’s a little thing to do but it means SOMUCH. Often restaraunts are so annoyed when you ask to swap the cheese for something else.(Usually what you are swapping would be cheaper than cheese but somehow server’s don’t see the logic behind this.) I was so happy she offered and she was so eager to make my crêpe enjoyable. I substitued artichokes. Oh yea… artichokes. The crêpe was crispy and yet softly wrapped around fresh flavourful ingredients. Mine had red pepper spread, greens, garlic eggplant, and of course, artichokes. My husband had a big one with cheese and potatoes and other stuff. He really enjoyed it as well. We walked around the market while eating the crepes. It was a filling meal and my tummy was very pleased, as were my taste buds. It was a great treat to have on a Saturday at the park. I would definately want to go again next summer. If you haven’t tried it yet I suggest you hurry and get in on this crepery action. You may have thought otherwise. but gluten free crêpe filled dreams CAN come true.

Way, way, before people in Vancouver became enamoured with Food Trucks, La Bohéme was serving up top-notch crepes from their awesome little trailer at the Trout Lake farmers market. Even though there are many other food choices at the market now, the queue is still a minimum of 20 people on an average morning. It’s worth the wait! In general, I go for the savoury buckwheat crepes. The two classics that I’ve stuck with over the years are Chevre and L’Artiche, though their new pesto+brie combo is also delicious. Most of the ingredients come from the farmers market, so they’re always really fresh and well worth the ~$ 8 cost. Pro tips: Bike to the market(the area has super limited parking) and wear sunscreen(you’ll be in line for at least 15 mins).

Visited this place at the Trout Lake Farmers Market. Had a blueberry, lemon ricotta, and honey crêpe. There wasn’t much lemon or honey taste because the blueberries were so overpowering. For $ 6.50, my crêpe was STUFFED with blueberries. Probably $ 5 – 6 worth of it…$ 15 worth if you get your fruit from Whole Foods. Totally worth it. Service was quick, unlike all other foodtrucks. Will return!

Wonderful savoury buckwheat crepes — I look forward to this every Sunday morning at the Kits markets. The cart has a nice feel and the constant long queues reassure the uniqueness and quality of the food. There’s plenty of sweet and savoury choices — The Ali Baba and Lebanese seem ever-popular, while I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the L’Artiche and Sunflower Spinach too.

Walked into their setup at the Van Dusen plant sale. They had quite a line but I was served fast. I ordered the sugar and butter classic crêpe for $ 3. It was pretty good, the buckwheat was nice but they add something else to the batter for extra flavour. When I asked about it, they said it’s a secret ingredient. Whatever it was, it sure worked.

I really wish I had frequented this food truck during the summer months — if only it weren’t for my lack of patience waiting in line. But, I finally got the chance this past weekend and boy, have I missed out all those months. The crepes and all the delicious fillings that come with it are just simply sublime. Didn’t take long either to prepare it so now I’m thinking I could’ve easily lined up for these babies. Wish this truck came around my work place ’cause I would eat out more on my lunch break. BUT, I look forward to eating these healthy crepes in the winter markets in December so it’s not all that bad for me.

After reading some amazing reviews I just had to try it! I am a sucker for crepes. Everything was great, the gypsy cabin, the French music, the friendly owners with French accent, food combinations looked titillating, everything… Except for CREPES. They were PRE-MADE, and I don’t know how long they were sitting there… For 15 minutes? 45? Since early morning? Maybe it’s me, but I like my crepes fried FRESH, breathing out life and all the wonderful ingredients that were put in and combined with… It’s such a delicate matter to fry crêpe batter! Even lousy Café Crêpe makes ‘em fresh! When I saw them taking out premade crepes, I felt a tinge of disappointment, which was confirmed by my taste buds later. Mine was pretty hard and stale… Although, once again, the combination of ingredients(homemade fig jam & ricotta) was a great idea. I don’t know why they waste such amazing ingredients on stale crepes… Alas, I’m giving this joint 2 stars. Wonderful idea, but poor execution. Maybe they got lazy, eh? Too bad…

My French is not the best, but I’m pretty such their name translates to edible heaven. La Bohême Crêperie is a purple food cart that appears at the farmers market, and I whole heartedly believe the proprietor is a culinary genius. I say that with a straight face, and I am grateful for the gift he shares because I can put it in my stomach. About two dozen crepes are available to choose from, with the menu changing depending on what is in harvest. Here are some examples: La Cheve — Moroccan olives, goat cheese, caramelized onions, greens on a buckwheat crêpe with la bechamel. Seasonal berries — berries of the moment dancing with lemon-honey ricotta on a buckwheat crêpe. Let me put in context how amazing this food is: It’s January and I’m talking about food that I eat at the farmers market in the summer. Yes it’s that good. Editors note: I wrote this for the Trout Lake Farmers market and since found out La Bohême Crêperie has(deserving) it’s own Unilocal listing. Yay to double dipping great food reviews!

la Boheme is the reason I go to the Trout Lake Farmers Market. They are always lined up, but work fast, so the wait isn’t too long. I have fallen in love with the $ 7 stuffed-to-the-gills ‘La Quebecoise’ crêpe. It is a buckwheat crêpe stuffed with ooey gooey melty cheddar, ham, apples & maple syrup. I swear it weighed at least a pound & I didn’t need to eat again for hours. I love that they use buckwheat flour to make the crepes – this makes them higher in protein & vitamins, gluten-free & tastier than the usual wheat flour you’ll find in ‘normal’ crepes. Besides my fave, there are at least a dozen other options for fillings – go try some next weekend at Trout Lake or Kitsilano Farmers Market!

«Yummy yummy yummy, I’ve got crêpes in my tummy…» THAT is the song I was singing this morning as I tucked into my first La Bohême crêpe of the summer Trout Lake farmers market season. The folks at La Bohême Crêperie use the best, most flavourful locally-sourced ingredients and encase them in a delicious buckwheat crêpe. This morning I had the ham and cheese(with

Important notes — where this food stand can be found: La Boheme makes the rounds through the summer. –Portobello West(the last Sunday of every month) –Trout Lake Farmers Market(Saturday’s) –Kitsilano Farmers Market(Sunday’s) How much do I wish that Vancouver was a city full of food carts(not just hot dog stands!) Today, hanging out at Portobello West and getting peckish, I caved to the crave of crepes. Cranberry and brie with salad and a tangy vinegrette, it was easy to mow down on the whole, slightly messy, thing! I was torn with so many choices – fig and jam; garlicy eggplant and roasted red peppers just to name 2 of their 2 chalkboards full of goodness. Blasting«musique au Francais»(*this could be spelled wrong-haha) in his purpley-pink psychedelic van with 3 crêpe pans a sizzling — it’s definitely a high-class gourmet-food-stand experience!
