Disclaimer: I am not Chinese, nor am I a Chinese food expert. However, this food is tasty and the service is quick. I’ve had the ginger beef, beef and broccoli, chicken chow mein, chicken black bean, Szechuan green beans, ginger beef and sweet and sour pork. I have really enjoyed all of these dishes and will continue to eat here and get takeout. I also like that you can request no MSG.

Since my last review, they’ve expanded their dining floor AND their name. In a bid to attract more(mainland) customers, they’ve added ‘private room dishes’ to their Chinese moniker. With that comes higher prices for the same ol’ offerings, but I really don’t think it’s justifiable though. There’s also a ‘VIP’ room now with two tables inside which I’ve never seen occupied. Think the Chinese saying ‘old wine new bottle’ best describes this establishment.

Was planning to try their new restaurant. Tested by taking out a beef and brocoli. Price quoted was under $ 14.00 plus TIP. I asked if that was a «large». She said there was only one size. My daughter came back with what looked like a container that could only fit two california rolls. Very disappointed with this price gouging and then expecting a TIP.

Only have gotten takeout from here, so I can’t speak to the dine-in experience. However, they have some good food, and always seem to prepare it quickly. Their meat is almost always of very good quality, which is more than can be said of many of other Chinese restaurants in Kerrisdale. The fried rice is sublime, as well as the sweet and sour pork and the szechuan green beans. Definitely recommended.

Small little Chinese restaurant in Kerrisdale with a few awkward large tables inside. This place has been here for a lot of years and that says something. It’s a small mom and pop shop with lots of loyal customers who come in to eat in or take-out. The dishes aren’t glamorous looking, but they make up for it in taste. I love the hot pots, especially the egg plant and singing chicken. They make their own pot-stickers too. The price is extremely reasonable and the portions aren’t bad. Another good thing? Free street parking !

Food was average, nothing bad or good to say about it. Grabbed a curry chicken over rice, was a bit bland, could have used some more vegetables but all in all average.

Four stars considering the area has lots of Taiwanese /BBT hangouts. Not too many no frill true Cantonese in that part of town. Prices are very decent comparing to other restaurants in Kerrisdale. Jook /congee are my favs. especially scallop, also hot pots. Unfortunately, there’s MSG. They also deliver.

Kerrisdale Kitchen is a quaint little shop that have about 6 or so tables which seat around 25 people. It gives the impression of a nice family run restaurant. We were quickly greeted and given hot tea. From the menu, it appears congee and clay pot rice are specialties with many types available. I had the lean pork congee and enjoyed it – steaming hot and moderately thick and creamy. I would get it again! I also ordered my favorite dish, chinese donut wrapped in rice roll. This restaurant is known for making their own rice roll and it shows. It wasn’t paper thin and looked more rustic. I liked the texture and homemade appearance. For those who are eating alone or want to catch up on the latest gossip will enjoy the table by the door which is covered in stacks and stacks of magazines!

My friend who lives in Kerrisdale raves about her neighbourhood so we decided to try it out last night when neither of us wanted to cook. It is a very clean but small family-run restaurant. We ordered congee, Chinese doughnut cannelloni, and deep fried spare ribs with salt & pepper. Although the consistency of the congee was OK, it was really bland. The Chinese doughnut was crispy and the hand made noodle wrap was fresh and thin. There was, however, a mysterious tartness to the noodle which I couldn’t quite out whether there was too much vinegar in the sauce or in the noodle itself. The flavour of the spare ribs was quite good. The restaurant also has a pretty good selection of clay pot rice so I think I would give them a try next time — not the congee though.
