Price isn’t everything people. This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. This place is a disgusting filthy place. It has plenty of violations from the City of Vancouver health inspectors. It has had signs of rodent infestations. Luckily I noticed today it’s closed. Hopefully for good.

My usual green grocer for the past few months. Selection is minimal but suited my needs. Prices at the bargain bin is low but quality is not good, same bargain bin price across the street has better quality goods. Price of meat is reasonable until I found another place 2 blocks down. Now that there are other better places, I doubt I will return.

It’s small, selection is okay, nothing to write home about, however, have gotten the pieces of produce at decent prices here and there when I’ve been too lazy to go to Safeway, however, it’s just not my go-to place.

It’s small, usually crowded, and often not a very easy place to get into, around, and shop. But we have enjoyed shopping there for a good number of years. The bins on the sidewalk out front offer a variety of ‘specials’ and ‘mark-downs’ — mostly veggies, but at times, fruits and other ‘stuff & such’ as well. Often many of these outside offerings have seen better days, but at the same time, there are often some rather good bargains amongst the lot, especially if one is seeking veggies and the like for sauces, stocks, stews, and such. It can be tight-going getting around inside at times, the aisles are narrow, and with the good number of customers often in there, it really does require a bit of «pushing by»(gentle-shoving!!) much of the time. The latter though, is not foreign for us, as we have enjoyed shopping in a good many small Asian markets here in the Lower Mainland, and I guess we seem to have developed a knack at being able to handle it. And when we know this place has what we want, we just head in and do it! For us, the purchases there have been mostly veggies, some fruits, various packaged dried goods(Chinese pasta, rice noodles, and the like), some meats(mostly chicken drumsticks, whole stewing fowl, and pork), and some frozen fish(tilapia). We have always received good service from staff there. The produce ‘guys’ have often gone out of their way to catch things from out back when they see us trying/struggling to decide on some of the on-the-shelf items. The meat guys have been great, and so accommodating(we point, they bag, and we always get just what, and in the amount we wanted), and the lady at check-out always remembers us with a smile, and courteous service. When we did morning dim sum regularly at a nearby restaurant, we usually shopped there before heading home. We’re not shopping there as frequently now(since the restaurant closed, and we do dim sum elsewhere), but we still stop in this neighbourhood often, to see what’s happening, and catch a few things at the Joyce 99 Market on the way home.

Be very careful & alert! Make sure the cashier/owner keys in the correct amount & that she puts all your puchases in your bag. When i was there yesterday, she missed out packing a number of items, that i had purchased, into my bag. I only realised that i had been ripped when i got home!

My brother in law took me here to buy some quick veggies and frozen meat. This place is straight to the point, grab you fruits/veggies and frozen stuff and get in line. Not a huge selection, but the price is pretty decent. This is one of those markets where people just push each other to get pass them. Parking sucks as its on the main road, so maybe a parking lot nearby would be a good idea.

The only good thing about this dirty store is the cheap $ 1 vege/fruit bin out front. The meat does not appear to be stored properly as they throw chunks of frozen fish in a box and put it out on the sidewalk bins. Shoudn’t it remain a refridgeration? WARNING: Pay close attention to what is rung in. If you get the lady with the 1980’s hairdo(long, black, curled hair), she WILLALWAYSRIPYOUOFF! She will only charge the real sale price if you question her. If you do not, you WILLALWAYSBEOVERCHARGED. Count your change too, as she will rip you off. I think she is the owner. Very dishonest and very unscrupulous woman.
