Choices for lunch with the various cuisines have improved so much, this place has a lot more great options now!

This is a hidden food court in Downtown. Unless you work downtown would you even know that it exists in the first place. This place was crowded and narrow. Not much seating to be honest. I was disappointed in their selection which I assumed would be mid range international food even if it’s fast food, however, it was mostly Asian inspired, nothing European or truly international from one stall to another. Lots of cheap options on the run. It’s an MSG fair galore if you’re into that sort of thing. I did grab some curry and nice since I was hungry and needed something gluten free fast, however, wouldn’t come out of my way for here. Best to just take it to go due to the limited seating.

It’s actually unbelievable how many business ppl still come here to eat; it’s all food court style. Pretty crowded too. Washrooms actually clean. Most of these places are cash only.

Most people who don’t work downtown have no idea this food court exists, since it’s only open for lunch. And it’s not attached to a shopping mall either. Instead, as soon as the doors open, a famished frenzy of hungry corporate lunch-breakers surge through the premises. There’s something for every palette. The most popular place — really the only one that boasts a steady queue — is India Abroad, the dispenser of Butter Chicken. But there are certainly other options as well: Zorbas Souvlaki, Sandwich Plus, Copper Pot… You can easily source a satisfying lunch and drink for under $ 10. But if you’re not working downtown, or you’re not meeting up with someone who does, on their tight lunch break, there’s really no need to bother with this food court. Sure, the butter chicken is good, but the place is a little too ‘focused’ to be pleasant. By that, I mean that the folks here are on a schedule, and eating is purely utilitarian: scarf it down, get back to work; or carry on that office meeting over styrofoam take-out boxes. Furthermore, after you’ve received your food, holding the cafeteria tray with both hands, while you scan the tables for an empty seat, you feel like you’re back in high school hoping you can sit with the cool crowd. And given that everybody here is working downtown, you’d feel like the lone loser if you don’t. If you’re a tourist passing through and want to eat cheaply while corporate-people-watching, I suppose this place’ll fit the bill, too.
