Hush Salon

I really want to try this place but after many failed attempts of booking an appointment, I give up. There are 10 independent hair dressers that share the same space. They do not have a receptionist, and I understand that’s the way it is with small businesses, but please develop alternative ways such as online booking or email booking. Left messages with no replies. I even tried walking in to book an appointment but it’s just awkward because the hairdresser is busy working on someones hair. If you’re a new client like I am and don’t know which stylist to select, then that adds to the frustration because it sounds like most people that go here just stick to the same person and contacts them directly.
I write this review to give constructive feedback because it shouldn’t be that hard booking an appointment.

I have been going to Heather at Hush Salon for over 12 years (before it became Hush Salon). She is great and gives the best haircuts — the cuts still look great even when it grows out. She’s super flexible on booking appointments and I have recommended countless friends to her (I’ve never heard of any of them having a less than a stellar experience).
I’ve also had an updo done by Brandi but that was my only experience with her. She was great as well and gave me exactly what I wanted!

All the staff here is fabulous… I have seen the work by them all and had services done by Brandie. If is a new look, a great colour or a wedding updo this is the place to go!!!

It’s hard to Unilocal a salon, because it really depends on the hairdresser. My husband went to Brandi for a long time (before his hair ran out) and his hair looked great. Heck it convinced me to marry him!
I was a bit suspicious when I started looking for a new hairdresser and he recommended the person who did his hair. Though she does a good job, a woman’s hair is different right?
He claimed that some of his female colleagues loved her to. Finally, desperate, I went. And I was so sorry — sorry I hadn’t listened to him earlier. Two years of bad hair because I was too stubborn!!! She is great!
She makes my hair look fantastic. She «gets» how it falls and how it works with my features. I walk out and all of a sudden I feel beautiful and people stop me on the street to compliment me on my hair. Really? That hasn’t happened before.
My other favourite part is how long her haircuts last. My hair looks great long after the usual month I got from other hairdressers. I’ve also had her colour my hair and she got just the right shade.
So YAY Brandi. The other stylists seem nice and their haircuts look great when people leave, but I’ve never tried anyone else.

I came to Hush Salon because it was highly recommended by a friend, and I couldn’t be happier. It’s hard to find a good stylist, but find one I did in Leila at Hush. She’s smart, she listens to what you want and does an excellent job. As for the salon itself, it’s a great little spot: hip without being pretentious. And there’s a patio that you can sit on while your hair sets.
