I love these guys. My boyfriend and I are 100% organic in what goes in our body. Heaven On Earth Café is certified 100% organic as well(I’ve asked them twice to confirm). Awesome! Been here 3 times, had the rainbow wrap(good), the mushroom cashew soup(perfect for a cold day, mild flavour), the double Dutch peanut butter smoothie(yum), the spinach veggie wrap twice(unreal), and the chocolate cherry cake(huge slice, not too sweet, satisfies my chocolate craving). I really want to try everything else on the menu, the couple that own this place are always friendly and accommodating. We live in Burnaby so any time we are in Vancouver we will make it a point to go to this café! Everything tastes homemade. How it should. Glad to support any organic business!

I’m not sure if I caught these guys on an off day, but I had a very odd experience here. I came in because I was looking for a bathroom, and obviously I then wanted to buy something. Coming up to the counter, there were lots of food options, and the drink list is extensive. I saw their hibiscus iced tea and thought it was perfect for a hot day! The staff were a bit odd — almost wary, but pushy at the same time. I asked for my drink and they responded with«our smoothies are great» …ok, I agreed and said that I was going to get the hibiscus iced tea this time. He didn’t really understand or accept that and kept suggesting different drinks, then there was some confusion in how it was made… The woman making it said she usually used honey — I hadn’t had it before so, sure, why not. The drink took a long time to make and when I did get it all I could taste was honey, unfortunately. I like honey, but I wanted a crisp, tart hibiscus tea. As I said, this may well have been an off day, but I wasn’t a fan of the service or my drink, sadly.

I wish this vegan-friendly café would take the next step and offer healthy, better quality ingredients instead of just omitting eggs and dairy. Their sweets are made with a heavy hand – overly sweet and mostly consist of refined flours and refined sugar. I took a few bites of the blueberry muffin before having to dump it away and regretted each bite. It was a mouthful of sugar and like those low-grade store-bought muffins but more expensive and not even good in a junk-food way like those can be. I can’t speak for their savoury items but the wraps and sandwiches don’t look particularly appetizing and don’t offer any incentive to try them given their regular wheat flour tortillas/bread.

Each time I’ve visited this place, I’ve been told that ‘everything is vegan’ by 3 members of staff. When I questioned the dairy, they admitted that some things weren’t vegan but on the next visit, they say the same thing ‘everything is vegan’. They were extremely pushy and were trying to get me to order things I didn’t want. This may have been excusable if their food was good but it’s not. I really do not understand these other reviews. All the food was bland or had a weird combination of flavours. Nothing tasted fresh. I hate bad reviewing veggie places, and hardly ever do because most of the time, their heart is at least in the right place, but seeing as they have no problem with lying, this place gets a huge thumbs down from me.

A tasty, wonderful lunch here today. A greens-based soup, tangy and rich with almond milk. A spectacular sandwich, the daily special, chock full of veg with a amazing coconut dip. Visit these humble, generous folks, who offer fresh and tasty vegie items truly made with love, and not corporate love, but honest delight in preparing and serving their edible creations. Way more tasty than most other spots in town. A couple of round dining room tables have been added, so a small group can be easily accommodated. The store front is a bit set back from the sidewalk and there is not splashy signage in the windows. You may pass by this little patch of love if you are chatting or in a hurry. Peace!

Was excited to check this place out as a new option for vegan dining. They claim to use organic ingredients and service was friendly. Spent $ 35 for lunch for two. Ordered each of the 2 vegan soup options, the mushroom cashew and the lentil soups. Is give those a 3.5 out of 5. Quinoa salad was pretty good. Rainbow wrap was pretty disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it. Pumpkin pecan cake was decent. The reason for the my low rating is because we were served a coconut latte with whole milk, after we mentioned twice that we were vegan. And it’s not even coconut milk, just coconut flavoring which usually has crap ingredients. It was only after stomach aches that prompted us to ask what was in the latte. Her excuse was that she forgot that we were vegan. For claiming to serve the veg community I found that to be careless and unacceptable. It wasn’t even busy. There were only 2 other customers at the time. Was initially excited to support this place but this experience ruined it for me. My food didn’t sit well and I left feeling I’ll. Quality and value was decent but nothing amazing. If it wasn’t for the careless mistake I may have been a regular customer

Not the nicest window from outside not the nicest inside either but the food was simply amazing. A lot of vegan options and that is what I need! Great soup, great wrap and great dessert. Will definitely return!

They make their own almond milk from scratch, so it’s not as sweet as the commercial kinds. The owner makes a fantastic Americano misto, one of the best in the city. I really like the nut bar too. Atmosphere/décor is super cosy and conducive to working. I agree that when you order there’s always a question«anything more?» which could be toned down, but overall the place is definitely worth a visit & the product is great.

Heaven on Earth Café is a great addition to the coffee shop scene in Vancouver. For starters I don’t like giving money to big corporate chains so I was thrilled that a coffee shop 100% vegetarian and vegan opened in town. They have lots of space and granted it is not the first date type place, but they have an extended drinks menu and tons of cakes, sandwiches, soups clearly labelled vegan(and all the rest is vegetarian. They also show the ingredients. On the days I visited, I only had tea, but they had 2 delicious vegan sounding soups, and lots of vegan options. I want to support local independent businesses and I hope they do well. On a different note, the café is a long space but tables are not too close to each other, the service is very friendly and the owners care about their business. I will not dock stars for not having an art gallery feel in there.

I saw this review on the front page of Unilocal Jul 29th and decided to book mark this for future reference. My London fog although made with sugar free syrup tasted overly sweet and I tasted no tea. Sadly I realized this later on the way to work. I had some of the foam but it’s hard to tell just based on foam that’s always sweet. I did enjoy my latte so I’m not taking too many points off. It just wasn’t what i ordered. Reasonable amount of seating, some pastries and very sweet customer service.

I kinda felt like I was at a car dealership with pushy salesmen. This place is fairly new, so I thought I’d check out the menu at lunch and see what type of soup they served. The store was quite empty, save for two people sitting to the side. I asked about their soups but wasn’t interested in the two options the two people at the counter(the storeowners?) presented, so I decided to just get a muffin. They then pressed me and asked why I didn’t want Soup 1. After I replied, they pressed me again and asked why I didn’t want Soup 2. Then, as I was paying, they pushed again(«And a coffee right?») despite me giving no indication of wanting a drink. I told them I didn’t drink coffee and they replied, «How about a tea then?» I declined yet again and paid, and was met with them telling me how I should get a soup next time. Seriously? I just want to pay for a muffin and leave without getting bombarded with other suggestions that I already declined or hadn’t indicated I wanted.(The muffin sucked, by the way.) Having said all that, this place has potential, as it is still relatively new, spacious, and appears to cater to a unique population(vegan/vegetarian/healthy), which is why I give this place a 3 overall. However, I think the storeowners should tone down their upselling and pushiness, as it can really deter people from wanting to return.
