Food almost as bland as the menu. 12 $ for some boiled water over broccoli. No thanks! Oh, and Kenny G on repeat in the background…

Food: Simple, delicious, unpretentious, and healthy! Menu has one category of food. Noodles with soup! Every bowl is made to order just as you like it. You can choose from noodle types, protein types, and a list of veggies. The proprietor is super nice, and so is the store. Bright and clean, you get to focus on your soup. I highly recommend trying his homemade chili garlic sauce which is on each table in a jar. Test a tiny bit on your dish and I’m sure you’ll like it. The soba noodles are also tasty! Note to self: Cash only! I always forget.

My family and I were visiting from out of town and were looking for some vegetable options to eat and found this place on Unilocal. It was really great; the vegetables were really fresh, the broth was really good and I got chicken which was very lean! Everything was great and will definitely come back whenever we’re in Vancouver again! Additionally, the owner and his wife were very helpful and kind! Also, in the background peaceful music was playing, which was really nice and calming! Also, make sure to bring cash as they only take either Canadian dollars or American dollars; no credit cards accepted.

Delicious veggie and non-veggie options! You have an option of about 4 different noodle types in a wonderfully simple clear and tasty broth. Tofu isn’t the yucky fried puff kind either. Husband had the house made chicken dumpling soup with corn inside and said that they were one of the best he’s ever had. Very fresh. Dough is nice and chewy. So delicious he took 20 frozen dumplings and broth to take home! The ones to take home weren’t exactly the same however. Folded differently and did not have corn. Still good nonetheless as my daughter devoured them for dinner. The nice owner also makes his own hot sauce free of any preservatives or msg. Very garlicky. Very good! I was skeptical when I saw that a rather small bottle of it was selling for 10 $. Then I tried it, was amazed and took a jar home myself. Will definitely return.

Delicious noodles everytime! Fresh! Hot! Perfectly homemade! The kitchen looks like it was pulled out from a cozy home and plopped right inside the restaurant which adds to the homely feel.

Definition of a great hole-in-the-wall… Was visiting from the States with a friend, who had come here before and highly recommended it. Now I know why. Management — I believe this place is owned and operated by an older asian couple. The owner was very welcoming and personable. You can tell he is very well-liked by the several customers who dropped by just to sit and chat with him. Also, his wife runs the tailor shop right next door where he sometimes helps out at(in case you had some clothes to alter). Ordering/Food — On a piece of paper provided at the table you simply mark the ingredients you want in your bowl and give it to the them. The noodles and broth had the perfect amount of flavor and you can really taste the heartiness. Everything is fresh — they hand cut/boil/prepare everything right as you order. Also, like a previous Unilocaler mentioned, they are very generous with their veggies. Note: Cash only… and for those visiting from the US, they take US dollars! A small bowl is about $ 8…not more than $ 10.

A small, quiet and indeed«healthy» Asian noodle soup place right in Kits. You can essentially build your own noodle soup, with a choice of protein, different vegetables and noodle type. Vegan options available. Priced extremely reasonably, rather cheap in fact, and the portions are reasonable. Not the most interesting or creative, but it’s quite tasty. If this sounds like your thing, it’s definitely worth a stop.

I love this little noodle house. The food is always delicious & fresh, the service friendly. And as a vegetarian I really appreciate that they are generous with the veggies!

Stumbled across this place in Kitsilano by accident and are we ever glad we did. Had the chicken dumpling bowl and my wife had the vegi and tofu and added homemade wontons after. BEST broth ever. Balanced, clean and flavorful with nothing added but time and care. The chicken dumplings were sumptuous, like perfect chicken pot pie, only lighter. Wife is gluten free so had the rice noodles(you can pick your noodle) and wanted to take a bath in it! We’re both foodies and will seek this place out next time are in Vancouver.

Love this place! Very affordable, quick service and always tasty. It’s an uncomplicated joint — it is what it says it is, noodle soup. You choose what you want to add from a wide variety of fresh veggies and meats as well as dumplings(which are super good). Great for lunch or a light dinner. The owner and his wife are so friendly and helpful. A true gem in the neighbourhood :)

Healthy Noodle Soup House is exactly that! What you see is what you get. I’ve been a patron of this place for almost a decade now and I never cease to be awestruck by how flavourful, healthful and sumptuous the soup is … it gets me each and every time without fail. The kind gentleman proprietor of this fine establishment has a history of and a penchant for high quality customised goods and services. Originally a tailor from Hong Kong, where he lived for most of his life, he made the journey to Canada’s Best Coast in 1999 around the time of the British transfer or handover of Hong Kong sovereignty back to China. He continued to ply his trade as a fine tailor and haberdasher in Vancouver and established an import/export business dealing in textiles. About a decade back he felt that it was time to move on from his lifelong trade in fashion. With inspiration from his wife and children, for whom his first batches of soup were made long ago, he decided he would make the leap from fine custom made-to-order suits to fine custom made-to-order SOUPS! And it was with that spark of entrepreneurial ingenuity that a restaurant was born. Not just any run-of-the-mill resto, no, a restaurant that had an owner and operator who cared about the health of his patrons, who cared about the quality of his ingredients, who wanted to serve people a custom made soup to their own specifications. Yes, these are quality and hand-crafted soups. I said SOUPS not suits. The vegetarian broth is simmered to perfection everyday from the wee early hours of the morning by the master soup chef himself. He cuts the vegetables, prepares his noodles, makes his tea, reads his Chinese as well as Canadian newspapers, watches his favourite programme on television, occasionally runs to check on his wife in her clothing store next door and waits for his customers to come in and enjoy a healthy bowl of noodle soup. His specialty is this beautifully rich homemade red chilli oil and garlic hot sauce which serves as the final perfecting touch for an already perfect soup. I would put that stuff on everything. Were it socially acceptable … I would douce myself and ever passerby in that garlic chilli oil. Be mindful of the timing of your meal to make sure your schedule allows for you to smell like deliciousness; garlic, chilli oil and sesame because you surely will smell mouthwatering all day long. Although that might just be me as I really load up on that garlic chilli oil. I step in here and I’m always greeted with a smile. I usually don’t fill out the order form because he knows what I like. A large bowl of soup with soba(buckwheat) noodles; less noodles, more veggies, all-dressed with extra broccoli and extra coriander and sometimes I get veggie fish balls. Lots and lots and lots of garlic chilli oil. I sit down, he prepares the soup and we just shoot the breeze. He brings my soup and we talk some more in between mouthfuls of delectable soup. It is truly wonderful and worth every penny. I keep on asking him to raise his prices but he refuses to do so. I’d seriously pay double of what he’s asking for a beautiful and fashionable soup like that. Go get a nice hot and garlicky bowl of soup on a rainy Vancouver day; which is to say that you should go there every single day of your life. I think I ate his soup like five days in a row when I first discovered the glory that is Healthy Noodle Soup House. Enjoy. Tell him that Raj from Montréal sent you and I’m sure you’ll have a laugh or two. Again, all the best to you and yours. May you and your new soup be prodigiously satisfying with everlasting health, wealth, success and peace of mind. Enjoy your soup and your soup shall enjoy you too.

The name says it all. Excellent phở type soup. I usually get chicken. The most friendly service in kits! Try the homemade hot sauce.

I’m giving this place 3 stars because it was definitely good. But it wasn’t great. The soup here was tasty and service was very friendly and efficient. It’s great that you can order the soup with absolutely whatever you want in it in terms of vegetables and meat. I often find that soup from other Chinese noodle houses is somewhat lacking in terms of quantities of veggies. However I found the portion size to be quite small– I was hungry again in an hour and I’m not a big eater. The soup, as I said, was tasty, but nothing special in my opinion, and for $ 10 a bowl(which is affordable, absolutely, but maybe not head-there-every-day cheap given the quantity) it was certainly nothing I couldn’t easily replicate at home. Finally they didn’t accept debit which is always a bit of a hassle.

I wasn’t sure how my dining experience at Healthy Noodle House would play out because… a) You can get a bowl of phở for a few dollars cheaper b) It’s next door to the Naam which gives you a whack of food for $ 9(the cost of a noodle bowl here) c) It’s next door to Sushilano(which I’ve never tried) but sushi is always cheap. And tasty. After much research(food blogs), why the heck not try Healthy Noodle House. It’s a small and casual establishment, with no fancy décor or ambience which suits me just fine! I opted for a noodle bowl which includes one choice of meat, one kind of noodle and a selection of vegetables. I chose all the vegetables, BBQ salmon as my meat and the soba buckwheat noodle. The owner is very kind, explains how the ‘check list’ works and makes the bowl to order. I was pleased with the portion(it was perfect!) and the amount of BBQ salmon and vegetables(although I wish there was more cilantro!) The broth is light and does not contain oil or msg. The BBQ salmon was not overcooked. Healthy Noodle House is a safe and good option. I’d probably come back again!
