Halloween Ghost Train

I’ve been to the Halloween Ghost Train at Stanley Park several times at night, with various children in the family. I’ve always thought it was kind of cheesy, but it’s a tradition and the kids have always loved the event and had a great time. This year, however, I wasn’t able to get tickets for an evening time slot and went in the daytime instead. Don’t bother — for all the value I got for my money, I should have just shredded the $ 20 bill. First of all, I bought the tickets through Ticketmaster and (stupidly) paid $ 20 for one adult and one child. I could have bought the tickets at the train station for $ 11 and saved all the ticket fees. Then, the train ride itself was the most boring thing you could imagine — the 7 year old with me was terribly disappointed. None of the actors were out, there were no special effects, most of the booths weren’t open — just scenery set amongst the trees without actors or any moving parts. My kid had a better (and scarier) time at the Halloween costume store and the pumpkin patch. This event shouldn’t even be open in the daytime — it’s a total ripoff. If you can’t go at night, don’t bother going.
