I searched out greenworks because of what they stand for. What I received was a complete disappointment. I went in for paint and help redoing some furniture. I bought all my supplies and got instructions, I did it and the paint didn’t work. I went back explaining what happened and they told me to do it again and I had to buy a whole new round of paint. It failed a 2nd time. I emailed them photos of my ruined furniture and they really had no explanation. Even the company who owns the paint emailed me and said they gave me the wrong info!!! Needless to say the ignored me for a few days and then stated they wouldn’t refund my money as it is a DIY project. I will never use them again. Ever. I would go to a different company that will stand by their products.

I really love what Greenworks stands for. Eco friendly building supplies, a decent choice and knowledge from the sales guys. But here is where it goes wrong: we want to get engineered hardwood flooring installed and they will not come to out place to give us a quote. And we do not get to pick the company or crew that will fit the floor. Hmmm, I don’t think so. You have lost on a sale Greenworks because you could not be bothered to give us a proper quote. Now we went with another flooring company, that has access to the same floor that you have(even cheaper in fact) and they got the job from us. Shame… I will still come back to check out the bedding and bathroom linen, and they have beautiful wooden cutting boards too.

In the midst of kitchen reno decision making, my man and I came here to get some sustainable renovation advice. We received some great advice, helpful service, and found some awesome tile options for the backsplash. I had been hoping to have a look at the Fireclay Tiles in person and they stock these here. Absolutely beautiful and made of recycled materials. Another wonderful bit of advice was regarding our counter top. We had our hearts set on a brand where there is a factory in Canada, but being that there is also a factory in Korea, it was hard to know which colour options came from which plant. We were able to find out from Diana that the colour we had chosen is made in Canada, which was great news. Other stores had not been able to provide this information, or told us incorrectly the material was made in China, or it was all made in Canada. They carry a lot of bulk and refillable cleaning supplies that are all green and earth-friendly. And should you need a chicken coop, they have those, too!

For years I’ve been looking for a reason to shop at Greenworks. From the time I first saw the proprietor, Alastair, on stage at Epic! to the kitchen reno of a friend, done with materials from Greenworks, I knew I had started a store love affair. Then one fateful rainy afternoon, Peter S and I were walking by. And it just so happened we’d just come from a neighbour’s apartment that was being renovated. Needless to say, we had flooring on the brain. If you are into home finishings and fixtures like tiles, flooring and paints AND are someone who is also committed to sourcing environmentally sustainable items, this store is right up your alley. The staff is knowledgeable — not just about the item, but also about its environmental footprint. They host workshops — although according to their website — their last one was held in July. The shopping experience itself is no pressure, quiet, and relaxed. We could take our time roaming and when we were ready, they sent us home with 2 bamboo flooring samples. Do I want to make sustainable choices for my apartment? You bet. I just need to save an additional sum to do so! Worth it? To me, yup.
