A Dim-Sum review: More of a 2.5 star review actually. We went there simply because we were in the area and the location was perfectly convenient. I’ve been to far worse dim-sum restaurant(of the $ 2.50/plate variety) but unfortunately the dim sum menu is quite limited so I was actually struggling to find enough dishes for the two of us. So in that case I wouldn’t go back unless it was just the two of us or maximum a 3rd person. And the dim sum prices are $ 3.50 and up, so it’s not dirt cheap either. But what we did order was quite fine. Some things may taste slightly home-style, but that’s a good thing. We didn’t feel MSG-ed out like we usually do after dim-sum. What we noticed were: our prawn/chive dumpling did not fall apart at all, and the taro deep fried dumpling was perfectly fried. There were other positives: service was attentive and very polite, and they accept Visa/Mastercard as well as debit, which is uncharacteristic of a smaller Chinese restaurant.

Very slow on a Saturday afternoon. Less than 1⁄3 full. Ordered off Dim Sum menu. Bathrooms clean, waitstaff attentive, food… mediocre to below average. Best items of 6 ordered = pea shoots sauteed in garlic. Baby bok choy steamed also good. Stay away from rice roll. Overall have had much better dim sum in Richmond as well as other restaurants in Vancouver. Nothing about the dishes were unique. I will not return.

Now called the Roc, it exists to serve passing tour groups and the local Chinese population. The dinner special included a free crab. The food is of average quality, at an average price.

This place is hands down the worst chinese/dim sum I’ve ever eaten; and I don’t mean I had one bad experience either. As seen over multiple visits(I like to give places a chance) the food has been consistently too greasy, bland, and otherwise completely inedible. On my last(and final) visit I actually could not eat it and ended up throwing it all out because of how disgusting it was. The service is good, the prices are average, and it’s certainly very accesible… but nothing is worth having to put up with such crappy food. Save yourself the trouble and go anywhere else instead,

Hate to do it, but gonna have to downgrade. Violated freshness rule. They use that ‘frozen medley’ seafood i.e. rubbery junk. Dim sum is still alright.
