Warning big time this place is a rip off not only overpriced but so overated. I grew in France and believe me I will never eat chocolat croissants there. it taste just like dough nothing flaky about it. I met the owner few years ago when he just opened and at that time everything looked and taste good but now it’s so disappointing and will never go back there. Do yourself a favor get some delicious croissants at JJBEANS or baguette and Co. for less.

A little treasure box of delicate macarons from the famous Faubourg Café in Kerrisdale. I was overjoyed with this simple act of kindness that made my day. The packaging itself blew me away. Although made simply out of paper, the overall look of the packaging made the box feel luxurious just to hold. The window gives a sneak preview of what’s to come. The colour palette of the box design gave an authentic Parisian feel. …continue reading at BentonTheIncrEDIBLE

Had high expectations from reading previous reviews so maybe the anticipation of trying this place dulled the actual experience. Tried the pistachio croissant($ 3.80), ham and cheese croissant($ 3.45), and a decaf americano(about $ 2.75). Texture wise, croissants were spot on– crispy on the outside and soft inside. Wish the pistachio croissant had more flavor. OVERALL, everything tasted fine but not a standout compared to other places known for their croissants like Beaucoup, Sweetery bakery+café, Le Marche St. George, Matchstick etc. Faubourg may not be at the top of my preferred café list but it is a good place if you are looking for a reliable café with a nice ambiance and good selection of French baked goods.

The Macarons were great, but I threw my latte away. The milk was burnt and scalded and my cup was only ¾ full anyway. Safe to say it’s the worst latte I’ve had in years!

Never bothered with the pastries-too much of that in my life/waistline-but the baguettes are outstanding in every way. Occasional odd character on staff and more than occasional odd customer but stick to the bread and you can’t go wrong.

Yummy duck confit, friendly service, tasty macarons, fresh bread and good coffee. It’s a little on the small side so prepared to be cozy/confined when it’s busy. The dinning area is also tiny so if you are a larger group be sure to make reservations.

Fresh French bread, nice desserts. They don’t seem to have as many desserts laying out for sale recently, maybe because people just prefer coffee and macarons. Seats are not very comfy but the atmosphere is nice and clean.

We’ve been here for breakfast so many times, each time we’re satisfied with the service, the pastries & the coffee. But today would be our last time to come because the service was so bad specially the cashier staff who was so rude with sour face and didn’t bring our pastries order after warmed up to the table and when I told her every time we’re here the staff brought the pastries to our table but she said they don’t do table service but we saw the other staff brought the order to the table. So? Also, the coffee were not hot enuff and they didn’t warm up the pastries, totally cold and different from many times when we’re here before. So disappointed and never will come back!

Went for High Tea on Sunday at three with a group of friends. Several of us asked for the same item, only to be told that the single remaining one had been taken by the first person in our group. We were served a single scone each, even though the menu stated that we would get two each. When we challenged the waitress about this we were told that they had run out of scones as well. We were offered a very delicious desert in compensation. Given the high cost of high tea, I was severely disappointed by the service

Disappointed in this visit. The lemon tart was obviously not fresh, with a liquid beginning to ooze out from between the layers. Clientele seems to have changed too, perhaps not as discriminating. Have enjoyed it in the past, so will give it another try sometime.

Today is National Macaron Day and I am so thankful for Faubourg’s 50% off macarons. On normal days, each macaron is $ 2. They had two options but I only remember, for 9 macarons, it was $ 18. Today I got my macarons for $ 9. I love all their flavours and they never fail to disappoint. I haven’t tried any of their pastries but I tried their Eggs Benny and it was good. Their afternoon tea consist of miniature pastries seen on display and they gave me a miniature lychee soufflé. I love their Marco Polo tea. Overall, everything is reasonable price but I always resist myself from driving there because it does add up.

This little french café offers high tea and delcious sandwiches. The staff here are very friendly and memorable. I tried the curry chicken baguette… tastey! Keep in mind that baguettes are super crunchy! I got tired of chewing hehe.

The bakery for the finest croissants! Have been going to their Kerrisdale location for years. Glad to see they have added other stores! Now back to my fav. topic — croissants! Faubourg knows how to make them! I usually buy a half dozen and take them home and over the next few days, I add specialty ham and cheese(from my local butcher) throw them in the oven and — so so so good!!! They offer a wide variety of pastries and cakes — they do special order as well. Their French breads are very popular and made on day of sale! Try the Almond Twist or Traditional Baguette. Very tasty! Check out their downtown location which offers more seating and cool atmosphere. Consider Faubourg to be a taste of Paris in Vancouver!

One of my favorite bakeries in downtown. The chocolate bread pastry and the pistachio croissant is delicious. I also tried the veggie quiche and it’s really good! The London fog is also not bad. It’s a little sweet but it’s good compared to other bakeries. The interior is also really cute

My previous review was too simple and old. I went to Fauborg recently and need to give them another review. It’s not many French pastries shop in Vancouver and Faubourg is one of good pastries in Kerrisdale area. I like to see though the big window for all the desserts before you get it. They sell breads/marcarons/pastries/cakes. Honestly, the pastries are mediocre and expensive. But, it helps and stops my craving.

It must be like 3 years ago, but I’ve been to Faubourg for high tea! It was well worth the experience! It’s not quite high tea at the Empress, but Faubourg was pretty good! On a Tuesday morning I met a friend for coffee at Faubourg. She was getting her car repaired in the Kerrisdale area and she suggested Faubourg. I was happy to agree. Some places you walk in and it just feels ‘right’ Faubourg is such a place for me. It just feels like a high end coffee shop without the snottiness! I didn’t order much… I just had a coffee and a chocolate croissant both were delicious! The service was good, and we had a relaxing time talking. 2 hours later we left having enjoyed the experience! On Thursday I have another coffee date in the Kerrisdale area; I’m going to suggest we meet at Faubourg!

Meh. Just another dessert shop. Faubourg is a nice café and bakery that serves french breads and pastries. They also do cakes and sandwiches. I just found their pastries especially to be too sweet for my liking. It was hard to distinguish all the flavors when all I could think about was getting a glass of water between bites. Macarons are a 3 star. I do like their varied variety, and their«unique» flavors. The fillings and shells just didn’t seem all to great. The feet on the shells were non-existant on some of my macarons, wasn’t happy about it since they should know better. It’s what makes a good macaron, the feet, come on! The crust was also a bit soggy? Perhaps sitting out in not ideal temperatures will do this. Service was not nice. The girls, yes plural were not very helpful and didn’t seems to be very happy or delightful, put on a happy face guys! Asked for a bag, it seemed pretty painful for them — so you want me to carry this box of pastries around? Ok. And I didn’t see it until I got home, but they overcharged me for my macarons running in 8 when I only had 6. Whatever.

I’ve been macarons for a while now after trying the ones from Thierry and hearing that Faubourg has better ones. When I saw the colorful display at Faubourg, I got super excited and got 9 pieces for $ 16. I chose everything but the fruity flavours. I found the cappuccino flavor too sweet — border-lining unedible. However, the texture was amazing, flaky and light. The Faubourg classic was really yummy — chocolate filling and light, flaky outside but still a tad sweet. I still have a few more to try, but for now, I have to say the ones at Thierry are better — bigger, less sweet, more flavourful.

If I could, I would rate Faubourg as 3 ½ stars. I stopped by here on an early Saturday morning. They were just putting out all of the pastries and baked goods when I walked in. I liked how they even have a sit-down area in the back with table service. I ended up getting: 2 regular croissants: nice and buttery, although baked a little«browner» than most. 2 almond croissants: not bad, though I liked the regular croissants more. My favorite twice-baked almond croissant is still Bakery Nouveau in Seattle. 1 box of 9 macarons: these were decent, with my favorites being the cassis and lemon flavors. 4 croissants and a box of macarons came out to $ 28. They have a couple of free parking spots for the bakery in the back alley. In addition, there is a free parkade in the back as well, so you should be able to find free parking when coming here.
