Went here based on the high stars. Unfortunately the food was bad. Greasy eggs, raw pancakes and coffee that tasted like it had come from a vending machine, The service was good and I liked the music they were playing but we came for food.

Tiny little shop with a $ 5.50 breakfast that some friends frequent pretty often. Had scrambled eggs and they were pretty average, but what really surprised me was their ridiculously delicious hashbrowns. Make sure you try the hashbrowns!

I’ve seen this place come up on Unilocal before but there were no pictures so I didn’t know what to expect. Just tried it recently after seeing some pictures online and it is as good as it looks. We’ve only tried the eggs benedict and the omelettes, both of which do not disappoint. The service was nice although dreadfully slow. In fairness, she did give us a heads up when we walked in. She said the kitchen was backed up by at least half an hour. Well, she wasn’t wrong as we waited about 45 minutes for food. I’m guessing there is only one chef in the back. If there is no one else in the restaurant, this place is a 5-star for me because then the food comes out in a reasonable time and it is a great diner experience.

I’ve been here a few times during the busy weekday lunch time rush. The food is nothing special just decent and prices are reasonable. My only qualm is that they don’t always carry or have everything on the menu. They seem to always be out of stock and they are VERYSLOW at peak hours. The poor waitress is the only person running the front of the restaurant and I wonder if they only have 1 cook. I’ve had to wait up to 25 mins for a simple sandwich for take out. If you’re sitting in, definitely expect to stay longer than an hour.

As the new(and self-crowned) Miss Marpole, I’ve been having a lot of fun finding new local haunts. It’s a tougher challenge than when I lived in Gastown and fell over cool places every day. So I’m pleased when I can find a little gem like this! Cheap & cheerful, this isn’t going to blow your mind in terms of food, but it’s clean, it’s good, and it’s delivered with a smile and for less than $ 10 a person. Located in a tiny little strip mall at the bottom of Langara Gardens, this little family run joint is by no means glamorous, but it was a great place for me to have a rainy-day breakfast with my Dad today. Plenty of comfy tables and booths and clean, we were greeted immediately and told to sit anywhere, and the coffee was quick and plentiful. The menu is standard diner fare. I had the«Pancake Supreme:» 2 buttermilk pancakes, 3 eggs any style, and bacon. The pancakes were ENORMOUS — I ended up taking one whole pancake home, and 2 eggs would have been just plenty. My dad had the Western omelette, which he thoroughly enjoyed, with good multigrain toast(you just can’t beat good toast). The server was a little on her guard with us at first and gave a bit of a snarky reply to my dad’s request for Splenda, but I complimented her on her nails and after that we couldn’t get her to STOP chatting to us, and she was very attentive. I also kinda like it when you see the cook come out from the kitchen to greet regulars. It makes you feel like this is a neighbourhood joint, you know? The clientele here seemed to be a mix of really old people, construction workers(there is a huge development just down the road at Cambie and SW Marine) and students from Langara. There was hardly anybody there when we were in, but I’m told it can get busy. The pllace is only open until 6 — just breakfast and lunch here. But if you’re in the area and looking for breakfast, I’d take this over the nearby Denny’s anyday(and I love Denny’s. No, really.)…

Nothing special in the menu. Also, they need to renew their meals because they dont have everything that they offer.

Great little breakfast spot, good food and value. Always friendly and relaxed. I personally enjoy the Denver or Western omelet, super tasty.

Ordered their daily sandwich and soup special for $ 8.66 after taxes. Food was okay. I did not find either the sandwich or soup that impressive. Soup was mostly liquid with very little veggies or barley. It had some herbs and tasted bland. Sandwich had ham, tomato, mustard and mayonnaise. Combo comes with a pickle on the side. I asked for sourdough bread and I am pretty sure I got white bread instead. Ambiance is a cute little diner with brightly coloured decorations. The server seemed overwhelmed running the front end of the restaurant by herself. I did get my food quickly. The place was really busy so perhaps I should have ordered their all day breakfast special instead as it seemed popular. I prefer Café Classico for the sandwich and soup combos for about the same price.

There’s nothing really great about this place but there isn’t anything really bad about it either. It’s standard diner food, the waitress looks like she’s worked there far too long and needs a nice vacation.

Nice casual place for breakfast. Came up from Seattle for a weekend visit and enjoyed the«American» breakfast.

Family owned and run. Can’t ask better for a neighborhood diner! Love the staff. They can get pretty busy but the seats are comfortable and the food is good. They have a large menu and it seems like most is made in-house, including great soups. Expect things like club sandwich made with real turkey pieces(not lunch meat) or daily specials like liver and onion. The burger patties are frozen patties, so try something else! Prices are fair, no complaints really! Try the all day breakfast, can’t go wrong with that. Just don’t forget it’s a neighborhood diner not an organic gastronomy restaurant.

Went there last weekend after a night of drinking and the food was excellent! Classic diner experience, which is why we tried it in the first place, with a nice ‘unassuming’ feel. Our group had brunch, and I had the ‘lumberjack’(classic breakfast with 2 eggs over easy, hash browns, toast, sausage, and bacon). Really, really good: the sausages were the best, the bacon wasn’t too greasy, and the hash browns were some of the best I’ve ever had! I don’t know what spice they put on them, but they are just awesome! Everyone else was happy with their meals; tried my girlfriend’s burger, and it was really good — not greasy at all, with a real hearty flavour. Will definitely be back!

I’m giving five stars for the breakfast and service, since I’ve never had lunch here. In my opinion, they have the best hash browns in Vancouver.(Shredded and fried on a grill rather than chopped up fries dropped in a deep fryer). Their all day breakfast special is a great deal and their omelettes are fantastic, large, well prepared with fresh ingredients. I have been going to Dylan’s for 5 years and never had anything other than friendly, competent service. Sometimes when they it gets busy the server may be rushed, but I’ve never seen evidence of rudeness to me or other customer mentioned by another reviewer. All in all this is a great little hole in the wall restaurant with great food at a reasonable price. Good coffee too.

The most rude service I have ever had. The woman behind the counter was rude with every customer. She was short and snippy and seemed to be in an incredible hurry despite the place being relatively empty. She also walked away from several customers while they were ordering and seemed to have no patience for any pause, from customers, before or while ordering. She also shoved my food at me(in a to-go box) when it came. Service was just as rude from the same woman when I came here about a year ago. Burger and fries was $ 11 and was only so-so. The only reason for the above positive review, that I can see, is that the owner/operator favors regular customers and treats new customers horribly. She does have a captive audience, but I would suggest going to Oakridge Mall, despite the distance.

Great little diner. I love their homemade breakfast meals and sandwiches. Quiet little place with great service and bottomless cups of coffee.
