I’ve been taking adult classes with Debbie for 4 years. I have tried nearly all adult ballet classes in Vancouver. Debbie is one of those very rare instructors that actually give individual corrections to adult students, so you IMPROVE and GETBETTER, as opposed to just going through the motions of the exercise. Debbie’s classes are incredibly FUN! They are very athletic(you do get a good workout and sweat). In addition to improving my ballet technique, I have also noticed other positive things about my body: improved posture, less back pain(I had some after having a baby, who’s been gaining weight fast and really liked to be carried), strong core(my stomach is in a better shape now than before I got pregnant), more strength overall. I also danced with Debbie all throughout my pregnancy(I stopped a week before birth and came back three weeks after). My labour was short and easy: can’t know for sure whether this is related, but scientific research suggests that this is. In addition, Debbie is a very lovely person and she attracts similarly lovely students. I have became friends with many girls in the group, and we often get together at Debbie’s house for parties. If you are serious about adult ballet, you must try Debbie’s classes.
