Let me preface this by saying that this salon doesn’t actually have an English name, there’s a sticker on the front door that says«CK» which coincides with the Chinese name so I decided to take it upon myself to name this place and put it on the map per se. The lady that runs this place speaks mandarin and some other Chinese dialect, not Cantonese nor any English really(which is what I speak). I came across this place as my friend lives in the apartments upstairs. $ 8 men’s haircut couldn’t really go wrong as I’m not fussy about my hair and I keep it short. When I came here it was pretty dead and she was taking a nap in one of the waiting area seats so I wasn’t sure whether or not she was a customer. Despite the huge language barrier we were able to communicate with a series of grunts and pointing at my head indicating I wanted a haircut. The language barrier can be seen as refreshing however, I’m the kind of guy who is perfectly fine not saying a word throughout the entire duration of a hair cut and it seems she is too. I’ve come here on other occasions and she seems chatty with her regulars, I had no idea what they were talking about as the dialect was neither mandarin nor Cantonese so I take it they were talking about the handsome man waiting for the haircut. Ultimately I keep coming back here because I’m low maintenance and fond of a cheap hair cut. I don’t know how this place is still open considering the amount of business they get, maybe the auntie here is running some kind of front and passing the savings onto us. They’re closed on Tuesdays too. –1 star for the fact they have no English business name and the language barrier(which I said before is really a double edged sword).
