The place is pretty dirty. You can easily find mould in the store. As well, it has a fishy smell and a bit of rotten meat smell. I know it sounds disgusting. But I have purchased fruits and vegetables here before. As long as you wash fruits and veggie and or cook the veggie well it should be fine. I mean I never got sick. This place is crazy busy. The store is basically crammed with things. The isle is so narrow that the owner would choose to put boxes in places that shouldn’t have things there. If you are not paying care in where you are stepping, you might trip and fall or just knock down a bunch of things. As well, in terms of the things you buy from here. Please check carefully. You might end up getting rotten lemon when its really a lemon. Or veggies that have already turned bad.

Solid 3.5 stars, gotta give credit when competing with T & T next door. Mainly fruits and produce. Fresh vegetables on the right, good selection and prices. Ok customer service. credit cards OK.

The big produce mart at First Avenue Market, that’s always filled with people looking for fresh green and fruits. Located on the front side of the plaza facing Renfrew, you cannot miss this place, as it is the cheaper alternative to the T & T in the plaza, and sometimes the better alternative, you just have to be willing to come up here, as people seem to like convenience now, and do the one stop shopping downstairs. There is no aesthetics to this place, it is a pure market that doesn’t stack the fruits to make it pretty, they just put it out, and you save money on the cost at the end of the day. They do not open too late, I think to about 6 or 7. They also have deals on day old fruits and vegetables that they haven’t sold, and they bag it up and put a real cheap price on them.
