Burger King

I come here after school when I’m hungry or when its whopper wednesday with my friends. The poutine is good but very salty. I suggest getting the gravy on the side. The whoppers got really dry so i don’t get that anymore. When the service is good, i always want to go back. The manager is super nice. He once gave my friend a free whopper because her debit wasn’t working.

So now BK has some new chicken «crispy golden nuggets». So how do they compare to McDonald’s, the gold standard?
–batter isn’t as fluffy or flavourful, but also isn’t as oily
–meat tastes similar
–more than 4 or so shapes (unlike McDonald’s)
Wow, what a toss-​up. Maybe it’s just because of habit, but I still tip the scale to Mickey D’s. But who knows. These may grow on me in the future. I’ll try them again before they crank their pricing.

There was A LOT of hype around the new «10 nuggets for 1.79, so we decided to check it out. Well guess what, they fuckin fuck. McDonald’s all the way. Soggy fries and cold burgers. The MOZZA sticks were the only good part. There was shit all over the floor in the kitchen. The real cherry on top was the girl taking our order. She was super rude, mean to the cooks and dressed like a high school weed dealer. This place is usually good, what a bummer.

Now featuring 25¢ med coffee which I thought was delicious. Dont know how long that will go for. Of course while youre there anything on the menu goes well w coffee. Hmm they got me.

Besides the Granville St. Burger King, this is my favorite BK in Vancouver for no other reason than it’s been around for a long time and it is consistent. The décor is classic 80’s-90’s BK except they removed the kids play pen a few years back. The employees are friendly despite knowing they are in dead end jobs and still served me with a smile and called me sir! With BK’s new fries it’s a no brainer, the BK burgers have always been better than McD’s! I was going to give this place the standard 3 stars, but reading what I just wrote, out of BK’s I’m giving it a 4 star rating.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen people walk thru the drive thru.
I used to spend a lot of time at this Burger King because when the Press Box was the Grand Garage, the best thing to have after a night of drinking was a Junior Whopper. And how could you acquire such a thing once the dining room had closed… why, by walking through the drive thru. Back in my day… those used to be 99 cents. Now they are $ 1.99.
After a sale at the PNE forum, my friend and I were walking back to her house… she asked if I wanted Phở and I said no… because once you get a whiff of the flame broiled goodness, there is no other. We walk in and it’s empty. Maybe another couple, but that’s it… and there are like 30 pre-​made whoppers behind the till just waiting for a happy home. My friend is smart and orders one with extra pickles and no onions… hers is fresh. I get mine however they’ve made it because honey badger don’t care. We share a poutine and a drink because we already feel bad we are eating whoppers. Oh, by the way, it’s Wednesday so they’re cheap.
There is something so magical about something being the same. It’s still the same (except bigger because I got a full sized one and not a junior)… I still like it. I feel like Charlie in the original Willy Wonka movie because I just hork this mofo down like he did when he finds the money… and then like him, I go get another one. This time she hands it to me in a bag because she thinks I am gonna take it home. No no, this is for now.
Maybe next time, I will drive through the drive thru to hide my shame.
