Brinkhaus Jewellers

I was the first Unilocal reviewer for Brinkhaus back in 2012, and I previously commented that this was a professional, five-​star shop until my last encounter three months ago when I brought in a (new to me) 20 year old Rolex GMT for servicing. As I entered the store I was ambushed by a salesperson sitting on a stool behind the door and was told that my watch may be counterfeit since the bracelet was «too light» and the bezel was faded in a way he never saw before.
Ten minutes later the Brinkhaus Rolex Certified watchmaker came downstairs and said it was authentic and provided me with the extra end-​links I was looking for, however after my encounter with the initial salesperson I decided not to leave my watch with them for repairs. I don’t want to deal with the strange sales tactics that made me feel like an idiot with a fake Rolex if I didn’t buy the watch from Brinkhaus. Now I am turning to Montecristo for new purchases and Otto Fredl for servicing my antique collection.

I had a 10 yr old rolex that I brought in for service. Of course I never see the need to dress up to go into any shop. Security directed me to the back for deliveries as I was in my uniform. I said I have a rolex that needs servicing. The salesman took over & looked at my watch & ask a few question and then he told me that the watch will be sent to toronto for servicing & if there are any after market parts they can deem it a counterfeit & confiscate the watch. I sure was put off by that. Why didnt he call the police & accuse me of possessing a stolen watch. Oh no because he assumed it was a fake & im not Worthy of owning the real thing. I the took it to Otto Freidl half a block away. They formerly were rolex certified. They authenticated the watch as real (I got it as a gift) and told me even rolex toronto uses generic parts for repairs & said its my watch & I can put whatever I want on it or in it. Brinkhaus is a SNOB operation & b/​c I didnt buy the watch fr them they gave the old song & dance that they were better than everyone else & poor people dont deserve good things & if they have good things they got it illegitamately

Best customer service. Great selection of watches, the best for Rolex in Vancouver for purchase and repair/​service. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful, without being pushy like many watch salespeople. I would not buy a watch anywhere else.

If the best of the best is what you need in jewellery this is the place to visit. As good as it gets for a fine jeweller and watch specialist. These guys have all the best in watches such as Rolex, Omega etc… even bigger names. Iryna is the one to see. Excellent sales lady who is knowledgeable and stands behind her word. Recently she told me my 3 year old watch was covered under warranty for a minor issue I was having. As it turns out the watch was not under warranty and the quote to repair was over $ 500. Iryna stepped up, apologized for the misinformation and Brinkhaus covered the repair. Very few businesses would have done that. That in my opinion defines this as an excellent and reputable place of business that I would not hesitate to send a friend or family member to. I have bought 2 watches here and would not go back to the other retailers anymore. These guys have amazing products and back up their words with amazing service and committment to their customers. Hats off to Iryna and Brinkhaus team for making life long customers. Best of all they negotiate — don’t tell anyone I said that!
