I used to think Blenz was a step down from Starbucks, which I’m not a fan of. I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped in here for a cappuccino and pumpkin scone. The young barista was friendly and you could tell that making the perfect coffee was important to her. Just the right amount of foam on my capp and the coffee was smooth! The scone was nice and moist. The place is clean and bright and there’s free wifi. I noticed a large selection of loose teas and a delicious looking butter chicken wrap($ 5) that I’m curious to try. Thanks for exceeding my expectations for a chain coffee location.

Was excited to chill here for a bit with a cup of tea. It wasn’t crowded, which is great cause I planned on sitting with my laptop. They have plenty of power outlets for that. There was a couple working behind the counter. I believe they were the owners. The lady was fairly polite and greeted me, but the gentleman was quite cold and unwelcoming. He stood behind the counter most of the time with his arms crossed and a stone cold look on his face. My tea seemed really light so I asked if I could have a bit more tea leaves. They were a bit resistant, stating that they only put one scoop of tea in the tea bag. I’ve been around dozens of coffee shops in Vancouver and always order tea. This was the skimpiest portion I’ve ever had, ever. I politely asked and they gave me more tea with resistance. I can say that the service(lack of friendly service) is what earned them only 2 stars, especially for the price.

SUPERSWEETSTAFFS. GREATPATIO. Very clean, new building, lots of light. The treat was fresh and whammy like at the other locations. I FEELBAD to give them 2 stars review… And honestly I would give them just one… Why??? It takes some practice with water, steam and foam… For making a GREAT cappuccino… The gal who make my cap was super nice… But I told her that my cap was tasting like a latte… It was obviously too much milk in there… She told me that she did the same thing than for a latte… But she only take a smaller cup… Poor little thing… I can’t blame her… She was honest at least… I just feel that they have NO idea at this location… It happen two times in a row… So… SHOW your baristas HOW to make cappuccino… Learning from a tutorial on YOUTUBE is always an option… As coffee is not given for free… The baristas need to know what they are doing… It’s NOT just making coffee… It’s a kind of art… If I want a cheap coffee I would go to Timmy’s(but I hate cheap coffee bean or process made)…

This location is almost in the middle of nowhere… kind of which is a good thing which means that it is not so busy, no one bugs you if you sit for a certain amount of time and you can work on projects. I did give in and had one of those coconut lattes. It was okay, nothing to write home about. The syrup was what had the coconut flavor. Customer service was friendly. A bit on the pricey side.

I usually really like this location as it’s the least busy coffee shop in the area, but was disappointed last night when I arrived at 8:15pm and it was closed. I had checked the day before to make sure it would be open and on their website it does list the close time as 10pm. No sign on the door advising why it was closed, just lights off and locked up and no hours listed on the door so I’m not sure what’s up! If you’re changing the hours, update your website and your Google listing as they both have 10pm! To note: All other coffee shops in the area are only open until 8pm(Terra Breads, JJ Bean), even the Starbucks down the street is only open until 9pm. Otherwise, I like Blenz, just get your hours together!

Love this new Blenz location. Light, airy and clean. It’s a relief after trying to sit in Terra Breads(always packed) or the café in Urban Fare(random service, sometimes okay, usually not great). A nice place to sit with my laptop and get a change of scenery from my living room.
