A&W

I would never normally associate fast food with good service… but this location changes that. Very friendly and frankly the service is above/​beyond what I would expect for this style of restaurant. It might even have better service than many «slow food» venues.

I saw on TV advertised «Chicken Buddy Burger. I order 3 of them to go. When I came home open the bag there was 3 hamburgers. I don’t eat beef and I was so disappointed. It end up in the garbage. I repeated to the waiter twice I want 3 Chicken Buddy Burgers.

10 o’clock and this place is packed with seniors and construction men! Couldn’t get a seat. But, luckily the food was prepared in under 3 minutes and packed to go.
This location is perfect because you can go to Kins Market, the liquor store and grocery store afterwards.
Staff are reasonably friendly and restaurant is clean and well lit. Starbucks is across the parking lot if you’d rather have a designer coffee.

Busy little location. Sundays this place is packed with all the locals getting in on the fresh Breakfasts. It is an A&W so you get what you come for. But not alot of fast food chains offering up a nice Breakfast.

Hands down better than McDonald’s bfast now after today. The taste is there. Bread. Crispy hash browns. Delicious eggs. Fresh OJ. Gawdamn

Carol who was working at the till is incredibly friendly. It’s hard to find someone in this city who is so personable and friendly. When we went back up to order something extra she remembered our modifications and brought us our food. Great experience.

My favorite A&W place ever. The food is obviously similar to what you get in other A&W places, but what sets this one apart in the great service. The staff is super friendly. The food is prepared pretty quick and tastes great despite the place being busy quite often. Excellent stuff!

This is one of my favourite A&W location. Service is fast and staff are nice and friendly. I got 3pc Chubby Chicken strips combo ($ 7.29 with coupon) and fries tasted cold and soggy. Staff gave me fresh fries after asking them and it tasted alright. Not as amazing as Costco fries.
Chicken strips were good. I also got root beer which I shouldn’t have ordered. Didn’t find root beer tasty. Their yam fries are must try. I got them from my last visit and they were crispy. This location is way better than Metrotown location. Better to use coupons for good deals.

OMG I love this place! Why? Cause I asked for a soda water instead of pop for my Mama burger combo and I got it in a frosty cold glass! That’s why. The service was good. I liked the new staff here. It was busy and there was good rotation of customers. The flow was good. The onion rings were crispy and my mug of soda water hit the non sugary spot right on the marker. My thirst was quenched on this hot day. I’m coming back!

Best bacon & eggs I ever had. No kidding. Perfect sunny side up, perfect bacon and nearly perfect toast (I like em well done, my bad, I should of said something).It was served on actual dishes and a stainless knife & fork. Try that one Tim Hortons, Mcd & the rest!

The place doesn’t feel like a fast food joint but rather a very good dinner. Just close your eyes and forget the decore.

I’ve always been a big fan of A&W, so it’s nice to know there’s one in this part of the city.
Parking is plentiful in the nice large strip mall parking lot.
This location is relatively new (as with the rest of this strip mall complex), so everything is relatively nice and shiny still.
The interior is surprisingly small — it actually felt a bit cramped. Staff were quick and friendly.
The burger combo is consistent with their other locations. As usual, special mention goes to their onion rings. Too bad they charge extra if you swap fries for onion rings. Burger King doesn’t.
And of course, what A&W meal is complete without a nice frosted mug of their trademark root beer. Just try not to think about the number of calories in a glass of this stuff. If you’re ever curious, try drinking it (or any beverage) at room temperature, when your tongue is more sensitive. You’ll get cavities thinking about it.

Very disappointed in this location. I have now been here twice to try their mozza burgers. Both times It tasted like the burger had been cooked hours ago, reheated and served.

I only come here when I have a coupon. I like their burgers and frosty mugs. The customer service is hit or miss here. I come here ’cause it is close to home.

Rating this purely on a fast food level, I can’t really fault this location. Never overly busy, and it actually feels like a 60s mom and pop diner. Go early or around lunchtime and you’re sure to find many elderly moms and pops! They are regulars and live around the Champlain area, where there’s lots of complexes and senior housing. The décor is almost like Back to the Future style, you step inside and feel like you went back in time.
Service is fantastic, they hire some really nice people there, they are quick and efficient in taking your order. I think the quality of A&W burgers is really good, and maybe it’s the fact that they make your order fresh or something, but they really do taste fantastic. They taste like beef, not like the frozen stuff you can heat up and serve at home, you know the kind where the patty feels stiff and all? Triple O’s are like that. McD’s are flat and dry. Wendy’s is a bit better, but this little A&W joint has got it right. And as of this post they are running a promotion burger with mushrooms and grilled onions, the burger patty is much thicker than conventional ones and completely destroys McD’s premium line… but who eats those anyways, right? Anyways this mushroom burger is second only to their now extinct prime rib burger, it was another promo that lasted only a few months before it went away. It was the most memorable burger I have ever tasted from a fast food joint, enhanced by the fact that I’d always get it fresh from this location. It even came with its own horseradish sauce specially made for that burger (it was just regular horseradish sauce. but it felt special squirting it from a packet) that is now also extinct. They usually rotate a promotion every few weeks, usually a deal on one of their regular menu items, or a limited promo burger.
The place is really clean, I think its probably family owned or something so they keep it very respectable, including the washrooms. Seating is adequate and ambiance is usually quiet, with the windows looking out to the rest of the strip mall like the Starbucks just next to it and the supermarket right across it.

One of the nicer ones, less rowdy since in a residential area.
Own parking albeit a bit tight but hits the burger itch if you’re in the area of Champlain/​Fraserview.

If I’m going to be naughty and eat fast food, I go to A&W. I figure if I was going to be bad, I might as well do it right, right? A&W does it right for me every time…
The A&W in Champlain mall in particular is one of my preferred locations… Now, don’t get me wrong… I don’t eat from burger chains often (about once every half year-​ish) and usually chains like this doesn’t really need a review because they’re all the same; however, I want to review this place because of the exceptional staff and service.
Like I said, I don’t go to burger chains often, but I have gone to various chains — a drive-​thru with my boyfriend and or to grab a quick lunch for a colleague. I can always expect to be greeted rudely by someone on the other side of the counter. But I get it, they don’t want to be there and I’m not blaming them for that…
Because of the negative and pushy atmosphere in most chains, it is a very pleasant change when you walk into this A&W. The people there are friendly, patient and really tries to go the extra mile. Like I said, they’re not expected to be friendly and to even fake a smile, but they do and it is a very nice change and I want them to know that I really appreciate it. Whether it be a quick lunch or even dinner, it’s a nice pick-​me-​up!

A&W is one of my prefered fast food places. I try and not eat too much of this type of food but occassionally, one cannot ignore the craving for the salty and meaty treats such as A&W Burgers, Onion Rings and Root Beer.
