I can be so dedicated when I have the desire. I took a hot yoga class here on a Friday evening. The studio is on the 8th floor of a commercial building in the heart of the litigious part of Toronto, Midtown. It would be awesome to work in the same building as your yoga studio. Although, you’d lose the right to make excuses over seasonal weight gain and cramping over a short run. The staff at Yoga Plus are nice and helpful, pointing out washrooms and change-rooms before you ask. The washrooms are located right outside the studio, down the hall, but the change-rooms, with showers are thankfully in the tastefully decorated studio. Yoga Plus now offers hot yoga, and I love their take. The instructor was clear and persuasive, when I started to get tired. I made it through the class, and pushed my boundaries of flexibility with an awesome level of self-satisfaction once it was over. The other members of the class, of all ages and shapes, were very encouraging of one another making it a cool little community. The studios are equipped with blocks, straps and bolsters from what I remember. The hot yoga classes at Yoga+ are a must try.

Great location at Yonge and Eglinton, but then again, that probably explains why the prices are so overwhelmingly expensive — one single class is $ 20. First week unlimited is $ 30(whereas most offer it at $ 20). I went on a Tuesday night and it was surprisingly empty, only 4 students in the class but I loved the class and the instructor(Risha? Ris… something.) The locker rooms were large, except the washrooms were located outside of the studio, just off the hallway. The best part was that the staff were quite friendly, especially since my friend and I were already running late. Anyway, great experience overall.

I’ve been doing yoga on and off for years and to this day go to several studios depending on my schedule and location. Through several years and a change of owners this studio is consistently among the top few on my list. Convenient mid-town location, very nice staff, cozy space and caring seasoned teachers is what keeps me coming back for more. I like all classes I’ve done here — Ashtanga and Hatha, levels 1 and 2. I would likely come more often if I was allowed to keep my mat there for free — is it me or does anyone else think it’s counter-productive to penalize people for their loyalty?
