This store is dangerous to a new level. Don’t come here if you have no self control. Alternatively, if you have no self control, I guess make sure you have someone to bankroll your lack of self control. Q: Why did the Unilocaler cross the street? A: To get to WANT apothecary. I saw this store from across the road and was immediately drawn to dart through traffic in order to touch the luxurious Acne and Kitsune garments, smell the beautiful leather goods, try the Aesop skincare… They have a fairly large selection of Acne clothing(especially compared to other stores in Toronto) and a beautiful lineup of shoes. I’d been eyeing shearling lined pistols for months now, and(would you believe it) there was one pair left in the store, that happened to be my size, that also happened to be on sale. What are the chances? My rationality and self control seemed to have gone on vacation in the face of this kind of unfair temptation. While the store itself is enough to earn 4 stars(come just to windowshop and browse the gorgeous selection!), the sales associates were all patient and personable(I met four of them!). Especially in boutique stores like these, I’ve noticed the sales associates can be cold and intimidating, but not so here. The answered all my questions without making me feel uncomfortable or awkward. I later discovered this boutique started in Montréal by a pair of brothers who have since expanded to this location in Toronto and one other location in Vancouver. They have also started their own leather goods collections(which you can find at the stores) which include bags and shoes. I will definitely be back once my wallet can handle it again.
