This place was a hoot, and not in the way you want. I walked in to get flowers as a thank you gift for a dinner party. Their selection isn’t spectacular, but nice enough, and the flowers all seemed in good shape(none of those clearly past their prime were on display). I approached the young lady behind the counter and explained my errand. An older woman jumped out from behind that area, asked if she could help me, and the young lady wandered off as if I’d never spoken to her, heading out of the store with her(supervisor? manager? mom?) talking to her as if I wasn’t there. It’s hard to explain the awkwardness of the interaction, but trust me, it left me as a definite disadvantage. After younger woman had left, I told the older one that I wanted to get flowers for a thank you gift. She asked my price range, volunteering«$ 30, $ 40?» I agreed that $ 30 sounded right. She turned around, grabbed one remaining pre-made bouquet from a tub behind her, threw one piece of paper around it(not fully wrapping it, just a sideways X around the stems) and announced«How you pay? Credit or debit?» At no time did she, y’know, ask me what colours I liked, what flowers I liked, or even show me the bouquet she had decided I was buying to ask if this met my approval. It was like some old sketch comedy routine when the store clerk informs a customer what he’s buying and doesn’t let them walk out until they do… The reason they got three stars was because, fortunately, once I got a look at the bouquet, it really WAS lovely, and the flowers were fresh. I don’t have too many objections to the final product(except that they were absolutely nothing like I’d have chosen had I been asked — they were Easter-type colours and I was on my way to a Passover seder), but I definitely have objections to the way it was chosen for me.
